BREAKING: FG orders release of Sowore, Dasuki.
The Federal Government has ordered the release of former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki and convener of online , Omoyele Sowore.
The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday.
Malami said the decision to release Sowore and his co accused was in compliance with the bail granted the two by the court, the Nation reports.
“The two defendants are enjoined to observe the terms of their bail and refrain from engaging in any act that is inimical to public peace and national security as well as their ongoing trial which will run its course in accordance with the laws of the land,” the statement read in part
DAILY POST recalls that Sowore has been in custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, since he called for a revolution earlier in the year.
Despite been granted bail by courts, the secret police had refused to set him free.
On December 9, 2019, DSS operatives had re-arrested Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja, less than 24-hours after granting him freedom.
A few weeks ago, Malami, ordered the DSS to hands-off the prosecution of Sowore.

Governors take final decision on N30,000 minimum wage payment
Governors of the 36 States on Thursday, December 19, have declared that decision to pay the N30,000 minimum monthly wage.
Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) Chairman and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, spoke to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday at the forum secretariat.
“Governors have all indicated without any equivocation that we subscribe to the Act of Parliament that has been passed on the 30,000 minimum wage. There is no debate, we have accepted that”, Fayemi said.
“The negotiation team you are talking about is about the consequential impact and each state has started that process.
“If the NLC is not fully aware of the status of the negotiations in the various state we will be happy to share the information available to us with them.
“However, fingers are not equal, states have to negotiate in terms of the consequential implementation, there may be states that are in a position to pay N50,000,
“What we can tell you is that no state we pay less than, N30,000 when we finally get to that point.

BREAKING NEWS:
NATIONAL ASSEMBLY GRANTS FULL AUTONOMY TO THE 774 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS OF NIGERIA AS INEC IS NOW TO CONDUCT LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS...
The National Assembly on Tuesday, granted full financial and administrative autonomy to all the 774 local council authorities across Nigeria by amending section 124 of the nation’s constitution.
The section provides a consequential provision for the making of the local councils, a full third tier government without undue interference from the state governments.
The ammendment was one of the 22 others approved by the House of Representatives last week and ratified by the Senate on Tuesday.
Both chambers had through a conference committee harmonised versions of the ammendments into the constitution carried out by each of them last month.
By the development, the National Assembly had ratified all the 23 clauses and sections that had been ammended by both chambers.
The newly ammended document which would be sent to States Houses of Assembly, for approval, also approved the creation of the Office of Auditor General of the Local Government as well as the State Local Government Service Commission.
The section equally deleted the State
Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) from the constitution thereby vesting the powers to conduct council elections on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It however, retained the immunity clause in the constitution for the President and Governors by adopting the Senate version of the ammendments on the issue and rejected the House of Representatives version which removed the immunity clause.
The National Assembly also made provisions for Independent Candidacy in future elections in Nigeria by ammending sections 65 and 106 of the 1999 constitution...
