BRIEF CITATION OF HIS EXCELLENCY, LT. COL. AGBU KEFAS (RTD) PhD THE 4TH EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF TARABA STATE
His Excellency, Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd) PhD the Executive Governor of Taraba State is a highly organised and dedicated individual with vast experience in security management, human capital development and conflict resolution. A team player, who is committed to achieve specific goals and objectives in a timely manner, His Excellency has a matured and responsible approach to issues of leadership and governance, using excellent cutting-edge approaches.

He holds a B.Sc. degree in Political Science and Defense Studies from Nigeria Defense Academy, Kaduna in 1994 and a Maters� degrees in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan in 2005. He holds another Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from Delta State University, Abraka in 2008 and recently bagged a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Security and Strategic Studies from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

An Alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School of Government USA, and Oxford University England, His Excellency has done several courses in the two renowned institutions from 2009 to 2018, key among them; Executive Certificate in Public Leadership-Harvard 2018, Driving Governance and Performance- Harvard 2014, as well as Leadership in crisis course.Other courses attended by His Excellency include; Security and Risk Management at Cranfield University, United Kingdom in 2013, Mastering Negotiation: Building Agreements across Boundaries �Harvard 2013, Counter Terrorism, Defense Academy of the United Kingdom, Cranfield University, UK 2010 and Senior Executive Course in National and International Security, Harvard 2009 among others too numerous to mention. His Excellency, Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd) PhD served meritoriously in the Nigerian Army for 21 years and voluntarily retired from service on the 4th of December, 2010 with numerous awards of excellence service to his credit. Key among his recognitions in the military include; Forces Service Star (FSS), Passed Junior Staff Course (Pjsc), Passed Staff Course (Psc), United Nations Medal, Golden Jubilee Medal, Chief Military Information Officer�s Commendation for Exceptional Professional Performance (UNAMSIL) and Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) among others.During his years in the military, the brilliant Kefas accomplished a lot and till date, his name rings a bell among his peers in the military in Nigeria. It is on record that he initiated and established the mechanism that reinforced cooperation amongst the police and other security agencies with the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Restore Hope in Niger Delta from 2004-2007. He also spearheaded, negotiated and persuaded top militant leaders to accept the Nigerian Government�s Presidential Amnesty Programme on 4th October, 2009 and was also involved in the engagement and management of over 5000 ex-militants and community youths in the protection of oil facilities in Delta State. Between 2003 and 2009, His Excellency was at various times, commanding officer of intelligence detachment units of the Nigerian Army in Benin, Effurun and Sokoto.A well-travelled man and a security expert of international repute,

His Excellency was the Chairman, Board of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) from 2013 to 2015, Chairman, People�s Democratic Party (PDP), Taraba State from 2020 to 2022 and Member, Nigerian Presidential Committee on North East Initiative (PCNI) tasked with the responsibility of rebuilding the North East region, under President Muhammadu Buhari administration. His Excellency, Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas' blueprint 'll tackle Taraba growing challenges

Taraba State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. David Ishaya Kassa has said the blueprint of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the March 18 Governorship and State Houses of Assembly election, Col. Agbu Kefas (retd) is the best of the State.

Kassa who led Mummuye stakeholders to canvass for votes for the PDP governorship candidate in Yorro, Bali and Gashaka Local Government areas called on the people to vote for Agbu Kefas and all PDP candidates in the coming election.

"Col. Agbu Kefas has a good blueprint for the development of the State and as you know PDP has since 1999 ran an inclusive government in Taraba State and Kefas will not be different.

"Kefas has a good experience in security and civil relations and we are sure he will not disappoint the people of Taraba. I want to call on you to vote for him massively on March 18 to be our next governor," he said.

Dr. David Ishaya Kassa also donated two campaign vehicles to Yorro and Ardo-Kola as part of his support to the campaign.

On his part, Taraba state Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon Kallamu Alhamdu said voting PDP candidates in the coming election depict continuity of good legacies of the government in the state.

He urged them to come out massively and vote for all PDP candidates, assuring that the Mummuye people will not regret voting PDP again.

"The PDP flagbearer, Col. Agbu Kefas and his Deputy designate, Aminu Alkali have the qualities to effectively govern Taraba if giving the mandate.

"I want to call on you not to waste your votes on candidates who don't have clear vision to usher in development in Taraba State," he appealed.

Representatives of the Mummuye community in Gashaka, Bali and Gassol local government areas, Urbanus Garkuwa and Demas Siriba pledged their resolve to mobilize their people to vote for PDP candidates.

This is even as the National Woman leader, Mummuye Cultural Development Association, Fatima Danjuma Zogimba said the party supporters should not relent in canvassing votes for PDP candidates in the coming election.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.

When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider su***de.

Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.

Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road."

Muslim-Muslim ticket: My soul is not for sale, I can’t trade truth for votes -Sen Abbo

The Muslim-Muslim ticket arrangement of the All Progressives Congress, APC, didn't go well with some of the party's loyalists.

Adamawa State Senator representing the Northern Senator District, Mr Ishaku Abbo, is one of such party members who has shown open disagreement with the the Ahmed Bola Tinubu choice of Senator Kashim Shettiman as his running mate.

Abbo was in the forefront campaigning for the realisation of Tinubu's presidential ticket but back stepped his support for Tinubu on the twist of plan of his Muslim-Muslim adoption.

In a recent post on his Facebook verified page, Ishaku has, during a meeting with some of his constituents in Mubi, said some people are threatening his life and vowed to defeat him in the coming 2023 election.

He said those threatening to defeat him has no capacity because he is standing on truth which he value more than anything.

He condemned the ongoing coordinated campaign against him portraying him to be an enemy of Islam because of his open criticism of either Muslim-Muslim ticket, or Christian-Christian ticket.

"I see few coordinated campaigns going on against me portraying me as an enemy of Islam more especially from people with no political support base because of my rejection of a Christian/Christian or Muslim/Muslim ticket at a national level which to me contradicts sections 14:3, section 16:1-3 and section 142 of our constitution" Abbo said.

He threatened legal action against an online media to have been carrying malicious and defaming headlines against him.

"Also An online paper YOLA 24 are to carrying malicious and defaming headings against me. I warned them personally with respect to the freedom of press but seems they do not know where their rights ends and others’ rights starts. I have authorised my lawyers to look into those misleading publications with a view of taking legal action.

"For the records, those threatening to defeat me has no capacity to defeat me because I am standing on TRUTH which I value more than anything. I told you before that I cannot trade truth for votes. My soul is not for sale" he added.

Abbo continued to say that nobody can use him to cover up injustice: "You cannot use me to cover injustice. You cannot intimidate me Into accepting lies. Continue with the hate and spread of lies. SIA will never apologize for saying the truth. I stand for truth no matter the prize. That’s why I am SIA.

He quoted the Bible in the book Daniel 3:17-18:"If we are thrown into the blazing fire, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your hand. But even if he God does not deliver us, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve you or worship the image of gold you have set up."

He singled out one of the APC Stakeholder in the Adamawa northern zone, Kwacham Buba Abdurahaman and praised him for standing up to say the truth.

"They accused me of forcing two Christian APC candidates on Mubi North and south. I am glad the meeting took place in Kwacham’s house and he is bold enough to stand up as a leader and say the truth.

Religion doesn’t matter in picking Tinubu’s running mate: Emmanuel Bwacha

Emmanuel Bwacha, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Taraba and senator representing Taraba South, says Nigerians want strong leadership, not religious leaning, in the presidency.
Mr Bwacha told journalists this on Sunday. He urged APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu to pick his running mate without focusing on religion.

“I want to make clear that what Nigerians want is good leadership, that the religion we are bringing into politics must be de-emphasised, and that Nigerians are sick and tired of these emotions,” the senator from Taraba said. “Rather than emphasising religion, let us focus on strong leadership and credible persons who can put a smile on our faces.”

He pointed out that “if you find someone preaching religion, he is the same person you find stealing your wealth and committing all kinds of atrocities in your back yard.”

Mr Bwacha further urged people to practise religion through practical living, not what they say.

“Let your practical living reflect your religious ideas rather than deceiving people with our lips,” said the APC stakeholder. “Only credible leadership can solve the country’s insecurity, and if we’re serious about it, it should appear in our decisions and policies that we’re working together to create our country.”

He expressed confidence that APC would succeed in the forthcoming general elections at the national and state levels.
