MEMO
From: Office of the Vice/Interim President, Tom Media
To: The Media President, Tom Media
Date: Friday 1st November, 2024.
Subject: Suspension of Media President and Operational Protocol Update
Dear President Thompson,
In light of recent election-related controversies and concerns about the integrity of our media operations, we are addressing several issues that have impacted Tom Media’s credibility. Specifically, the recent incident involving the PEG department's attack on you, President Thompson, following an article published on Tom TV PTI, has intensified concerns within the media body regarding potential compromises.
As Tom Media operates under a constitution committed to maintaining transparency and accountability, we refer to Section 3, Article IV, Number 2, which grants the Vice/Interim President the authority to “SUSPEND, IMPEACH, OR STRIP ANY EXECUTIVE OF THEIR POWER/OFFICE IF VOTED AGAINST BY TWO-THIRDS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ONCE ACCUSED AND FOUND GUILTY OF GROSS MISCONDUCT.”
After careful consideration and a vote by the Executive Council, it has been deemed necessary to place the Media President under suspension, effective Saturday, 2nd November 2024, until further notice. This action seeks to uphold the integrity and trust essential to Tom Media’s mission.
Consequently, all official arrangements previously made by the Media President are now nullified. TV handlers are authorized to operate semi-independently in accordance with our constitutional guidelines, ensuring a smooth continuation of content production and management.
During this period of suspension, the Vice/Interim President will assume leadership of Tom Media to maintain stability and operational continuity.
Furthermore, the PEG HND department is urged to refrain from any further assaults on media personnel. If there are concerns regarding content published by Tom Media, PEG HND members are encouraged to submit formal, written grievances to our office, which will be addressed promptly.
Signed:
Mr. W.
Vice/Interim President,
Tom Media
