Community Health workers in Akwa Ibom State will embark on a *carnival float* to showcase the beauty of *Community Health Profession to the world 🌎*

The Carnival float is expected to Commence from NLC secretariat, through the ministry of health to GOVERNMENT HOUSE BARACK RD UYO.

COME LET SHOWCASE THE BEAUTY OF COMMUNITY HEALTH PROFESSION TO THE WORLD.

ALL Community Health workers in the state are advise to come out en masse to support the movement.

Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) Released 2023 National Examination results

Few days ago, i had the privilege of attending a training on management of HIV/AIDS and Blood Pressure measurements.

As earlier promised, this week we will be using to refresh our memory and create more awareness on issues relating to Blood Pressure measurements and hypertension.

We have 3 different types of blood Pressure measurements equipment

1. Mercury Sphygmomanometer
2. Aneroid Sphygmomanometer
3. Digital Sphygmomanometer

The mercury type is referred to as the Golden i.e the best if use accurately by trained Health personnels .

The Digital is regarded as the second best if use accurately according to WHO standards.

The Aneroid follow in distance third.

Do you know that machine should be calibrated every 6months if we must continue to get accurate results.

Now the question is how many people do this in Nigeria?

Over the weekend, the state Chairman National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) Comrade Felix Inyang alongside the state secretary Comrade Usanwan Usanwan and vice Chairman Glory Umoh led Community Health Practitioners in the state to the funeral service of Late Deaconess Gladys Eyo Okoh in Oron.

Others notable Community Health Practitioners present at the event includes Mr Bassey Essien former South-South Technical officer CHPRBN,
Mr Leo Etim HOD Community Health College of Health Technology, Etinan. Akwa Ibom State.

It might interest you to know that Gladys Eyo Okoh is the wife of the former state Chairman NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY HEALTH PRACTITIONERS OF NIGERIA Akwa Ibom Chapter, a retired Director and former BOARD member Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN).

Few days ago, before i traveled to attend the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY HEALTH PRACTITIONERS OF NIGERIA 2023 , in Portharcourt Rivers State. I had the privilege of organizing a medical outreach alongside my Colleagues on behalf of the Redeemed Christian CHURCH of God PENIEL PARISH, Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

As part of activities marking their 3days program Tag .

The Free medical outreach was fully sponsored by the Church.

I must Sincerely appreciate the Pastor and indeed the entire members of RCCG PENIEL Zone who contributed to success of the outreach.

However, during the 🆓 medical outreach the following activities were carried out

Blood Pressure check-up
Blood Sugar
Nutritional Assessment for children
MALARIA test
Treatment of minor ailments
Health Education and prompt refusal for further medical checkup.
