Born on December 9, 1962, in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio grew up with values deeply rooted in service, discipline, and community upliftment. He attended Methodist Primary School, Ukana, and later, Federal Government College, Port Harcourt, before proceeding to the University of Calabar, where he studied Law. After being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987, Akpabio began his career as a legal practitioner but soon found his calling in public service, where his leadership brilliance began to shine.

Speaking at the occasion of thanksgiving held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Duke Town Parish, by ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ธ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด to thank God for his election into the Senate and the dedication of his third child Anam, the Senate President noted that Senator Ekpenyong may be 37 years in age but a good example of the resourcefulness of a Nigerian youth.
He noted the commitment of the 10th Senate to work through legislation to support the Executive and ensure better living for Nigeria as an indivisible country.
He responded to a clergyman who remarked that he had fears over the Presidential ticket of the APC in the 2023 election, saying, God who knows better than human gave Nigeria a President that is strengthening our unity and togetherness.
He urged the clergy to disabuse their mind with religious divisiveness and know that even in Israel, the Christian population is not even one third. He emphasized that we all serve one God; Muslim and Christian.
He urged the Governor of Cross River State, ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ข๐๐ to rule with a heart of love inorder to perform better than the record set by any previous governor of the state.
