IBIONO IBOM COUNCIL BOSS FLAG OFF SKILLS ACQUISITION FOR YOUTHS
.. Charges the Youths to be Industrious to earn government support.
.. Promise to train the Youths quarterly to encourage enterprenureral development.

It was a great experience Last week Friday, 25th June, 2021 as the Executive Council Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, Rt. Hon. Ekopimo Polycarp Edet flag off skills acquisition program for the unskilled youths to reduce the rate of unemployment among the Youths of Ibiono Ibom.
The event which took place at the James B Ekpo Secretariat, Oko Ita had in attendance the SSA to the Governor on Skill Development, Mrs Alice Ekpenyoung heavily represented by Pastor Godwin George, Director of Training and Administration Skill Development Office of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, H. E. Udom Emmanuel, the SA to the Governor on Projects Monitoring, Peace Akpan, the Leader of the 7th Legislatives Council, Hon. Udeme Sunday experience number of youths in attendance for the training.
The State Coordinator of Ibom Youth Enterprenureral Empowerment Initiative, Mr. Ubong Asuquo thank God for the opportunity to flag off the training despite the Covid 19 pandemic in the country. He went further to appreciate the Executive Council Chairman Rt. Hon. Ekopimo Polycarp Edet for being a true grassroots developer, a rare attitude of government managers.
Permit me to use this medium to inform us that Ibom Youths Enterprenureral Empowerment Initiative is aim at developing the unskilled youths with industrial skills that can make them employers of labour after the training.
The Executive Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ekopimo Polycarp Edet in his opening remark acknowledge God for His grace and sustainability as Leaders of Government and people of Ibiono Ibom. 'I am most grateful to the initiators of Ibom Youth Enterprenureral Empowerment Initiative, Mr. Ubong Asuquo, a team determined to make great impact on the life of our Youths.
I can't stop to recognize the SSA to the Governor on Skills Development Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong represented here by the Director of Training and Administration, Skills Development office of the Governor, Pastor Godwin George, SA to the Governor on Projects Monitoring, Miss Peace Akpan, the Leader, Hon Udeme Sunday and every other principal officers of the Council and Legislatives I must also recognized the Youths for accepting the training because without the students there will be no teacher. We were expected to have only 500 trainees but what I am seeing is more than 500 youths showing readiness and acceptance of the program'
'I want to encourage all the youths to be Industrious to get access to financial support for meaningful business adventures rather than roaming around the streets begging as the only means of survivals. When you demand for financial aid to expand your industry or business it easily accessible than begging for feeding money. My administration is aim at teaching Youths on how to fish than to feed them with fish'.
"Let us arise and be trained for this two week exercise in any of the following skills; Driving, Catering, Paint production, etc as I flag off this training in the name of God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit to the glory of God".
Also speaking at the event is the SSA to the Governor on Skills Development Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong represented by Pastor Godwin George, Director of Training and Administration, Skills Development office of the Governor who expressed his satisfaction with the Youths of Ibiono Ibom for accepting the Training Exercise.
Pastor Godwin George drew the attention of Ibiono Ibom youths to the importance attached to Human Capital Development by His Excellency, Dcn. Udom Emmanuel. He said the Governor has demonstrated his committment by putting in place Skills Development office: office of the Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency on SME, office of the Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency on Brand Marketing, SSA on Enterpreneuship among other platforms.
According to him, while the Skills office trains, mentor and monitor, the SME office sees to the establishment of trainees as Small & Medium Enterprise, and the brand marketing sees to the branding of whatever is produced.
Pastor George appealed to trainees to be serious and concentrate in the training programme, and also feel free to assess the offices or platforms put in place by the Governor to enable them metamorphise into MSME, then full fleshed enterpreneur. He said His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel is the first Governor to establish these Human Capital Development arms to reach out to the Youths for purposes of Training and Empowerment. He encouraged the youths to see this opportunity as an important step to rescue them from poverty.
Also, the Supervisory Councilor for Youths and Sports, Elder Umanah Umanah appreciated God for the ability to train the first batch of Youths with industrial skills and Charges the Youths to take the training seriously.
Other digniteries present at the event were the Deputy Leader, Hon Kufre Eyo Effiong, Head of Local Government Civil service, Dr. Mandu Ekpenyong, Secretary to the Council, Hon. Deaconess Mandu Esoh, Dean College of Supervisors, Hon. Emem Usoro, Mr. Akan Anana, Supervisor for Security Matters, House Leader, Hon. Joseph Udo, Hon. Ita Ukpong, Hon. Idorenyin Etok, Elder Hon. Gabriel Sunday, Hon. Elijah Uwak, Hon. Sunday Esin Sunday, Hon. Idorenyin Umoren, Hon. Emmanuel Maurice.
At the end, the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom appreciated His Excellency for his interest in developing the youths of Always Ibom skill-wise. He thanked the SSA to His Excellency on Skills who was represented by Pastor Godwin George for deeming it fit to grace the ceremony. The chair was full of praises to the coordinator of Ibom Youth Enterprenureral Empowerment Initiative for his ingenuity and passion for skill development. He, however thanked all were part of the flag off ceremony.
