Topic: Repentance. Part 1 Text: Isaiah 55 vs 5:6. Introduction; the first word of John the Baptist what is repent, and the first preaching of Jesus in his early ministry was repent ,for the kingdom of God is near. Hence repentance is a call for all ages. Why repentance is so important? Because is not easy to enter into the kingdom of God without genuine repentance. More so, the church will produce lukewarm and worldly members So called Christian by name only and not by Faith. Conversion comprise two element, and that is repentance and Faith. Repentance is connected with sanstification. Romans 10:17 and Romans chapter 1:17.Repentance and fiath like two sides of the same coin. Repentance is negative turning away from sin ,and Faith is positive turning to God by the gospel of Christ for salvation Acts chapter 3:19. There is no faith without true repentance and no true repentance without faith. Definition; the Greek word for repentance is metanoia, this word come with two words,meta noia .meta means to change as in metamorphosis and noia means mind as in paranoia. Repentance also portray the inward attitudes of the soul that leads to outward appearance of heart,soul, and mind. Subject matter; repentance can be broken down into three elements. 1, intellectual element,(mind) that is to understand that sin is a personal guilt against God's commandments. Romans 3:20-23. 2, emotional element, it is a genuine sorrowfor having sin against God, psalm chapter 51. Lisarow brings repentance that leads to salvation second Corinthians chapter 7:10. 3, voluntary element, (personal decision) this has to do with Will and purpose of forsaking and to walk in obedience to Christ Jesus after hearing the Gospel of Christ and believe it. Romans chapter 10 verse 9 and 10 . Conclusion: no one can entered into the kingdom of heaven except he hears the gospel of salvation first and believe that Jesus died for him.
