Insecurity: Nnamdi Kanu's Release Only Way to Show Love for S'East - Rep Amobi Ogah Tells Tinubu |

Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Ogah, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB), Nnamdi Kanu, for peace to reign in the South East region, IgbereTV reports.

Ogah, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, made the appeal on Thursday shortly after interfacing with the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, at the governor's country home in Isiala Ngwa Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the insecurity in the South East region is as a result of the prolonged detention of the IPOB leader.

He, therefore, called on President Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, as a show of love to Ndigbo.

Ogah explained that the release of Kanu will expose criminal gangs that are using the detention to cover their act of terrorism in the South East.

His words, ”The President has done so much. The only disagreement I have with him is the issue of giving us only five ministers in the entire South East. I think the President should have balanced it to show that really, he loves us.

"I was telling the world that Mr. President loves us. But the only way he can show that he loves us is to give us Nnamdi Kanu by releasing him so that insecurity in the South East will be reduced drastically.

"The issue now is that we don't even know those who are behind the insecurity (in the South East). IPOB will tell you they are not the one, ESN (Eastern Security Network) will tell you they are not involved.

"But some will say the reason is because they are holding Nnamdi Kanu. So my prayer to Mr. President is that he should give him (Kanu) to us as a gift. This will be the best gift he can give to the Igbo nation.

"Release him to us so that we can be able to know those who are really behind the insecurity in South East. When you release this man, we can see reason to hold anybody that is messing up," the lawmaker noted.

Ogah, a Labour Party (LP) lawmaker, has been vocal about the current insecurity in South-East, and his Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State in particular.

The founder of Omega Power Ministry, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has promised a young lady who is an orphan that he will sponsor her in the University.

The lady revealed that she didn't believe that she will be able to go to the university after struggling for 17 years trying to achieve her dream.

According to her, "Father and mother are late. Am an orphan. Since I finished secondary, I have been struggling for 17 years now to enter university.
Because of No money for this 17 years I could not go to university."

There are undeniably moments in one's life when one becomes so engulfed in emotions that defy any form of apt description. I had such a moment today when I woke up and heard that my B.A. result had been uploaded by UNN Senate Committee. To have graduated was good; to have done so in the Department of English UNN was interesting, but with First Class was 'very heaven'. I give all glory to Chukwu Okike who made that dream of mine manifest.

I also wish to thank everybody who contributed to my success. I may not mention all of you, but these names ringing in my head must not be hidden. I thank Senator Doctor Sam Ominyi Egwu whose free education program made my low income earning parents_ may their souls rest in peace_ believe they could train their seemingly promising child in school. Mr Nnamdi Ozioko, your assistance made me remember our local adage, 'ogyeru oha nweru onye,' loosely translated as 'he who goes to a strange land should have somebody there.' I cannot forget your words, Dr A.P. Nnamani_ 'Samuel, make sure you graduate with First Class.'

I also wish to appreciate all lecturers of mine who gave me the grade. Yes, I must say it that way. If students who failed some courses could brazenly say, 'That lecturer failed me,' I cannot be faulted. May I foreground this name DR EMMANUELA UZOMA ASADU. Mummy, I was lucky to have you as my project supervisor. To all my friends on campus, permit me to reserve your names, may we live to see brighter days.
