For the love of Chukwualuka Osegbo.

We attended the 10:00am mass at our parish, St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Apo Resettlement Area, Abuja as our friend, Tonie Osegbo and wife dedicated their son, Chukwualuka to God in grand style.

The birth of a child brings forth good tidyings. It was great joining the Osegbo(s) as they dedicated their baby to God. It was a reunion of sort for us, a confluence of young Anambra men resident in Abuja coming together to celebrate with the family of one of their own.

We congratulate the Osegbo(s) and pray God to bountifully bless their son. Indeed, Chukwualuka!

Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary to my Parents, Dr. Dove-Edwin & Dr. Barr (Mrs) Nwando Obiano, KSM.

Today marks exactly 35 years my parents took their marital vow before God, and in the presence of family, friends and well wishers. They’ve stayed glued in this love bound to this day.

Marriage like every other good thing doesn’t come easy. It too doesn’t come with huge sacrifices. To love is to endure, to accept, to tolerate, to manage and to say yes and no at very many other instances and to many things. However, nothing worthwhile comes easy or on a platter.

My parents to me, and perhaps to many who have come close to the family are the model couple. In the last count, it’s possible my parents have birthed more than thirty couples in marriage, or as marriage sponsors. This is the number that I know of. It could be more; in fact, it should be more actually. Well, that’s a number.

Here’s to congratulate my parents, who rose to the pinnacle in their chosen careers and scholarship. I’ve parents, dad and mum who individually posses three degrees and four degrees respectively. Both rose to the peak as Doctorate degree holders, Ph.D and attained their height as career civil servants - Director & Permanent Secretary. I celebrate them, as much as they serve as great inspirations to us and many others out there.

In a world where young people are overtaken with impatience, disrespect, indecency, recklessness, rascality and many other societal ills, sadly also, litanies of broken homes, marriages and divorces, I often beat my chest and get comforted that if my own parents have endured long thirty-five donkey years in this love story as a couple, in time, I / we too can go all the way long.

As I often proudly like to say or write about my parents, my siblings and I do not take for granted how incredibly lucky we are to have them in our lives as our parents. We wish them long life, health, love and perfect peace. Wealth will always naturally come.

At Nony’s Affair, hosted in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, I had the singular honor of being called upon to propose the toast.

I celebrated the newly wed, Chinonso na Chiamaka. I wished them well; prayed God to bountifully bless them with a happy marriage and a happy home.

I congratulated them and welcomed guests from across the world. It was a beautiful outing.

We Are Enjoying KD city.

Today, we went to Kaduna ShopRite; perhaps, the only ShopRite in Nigeria today that I’ve visited that doesn’t sell anything liquor and other alcoholic beverages.

As it was important to many of us low-key, I took it up and discussed with some of the staffers and they confirmed that alcoholic beverages would soon be introduced to Shoprite, Kaduna and placed on display for sales.

Shoprite just opened in Kaduna last month.

Tiger Foods Nigerian Limited in Kaduna.

I did a train trip from the FCT, Abuja down to Kaduna, Kaduna State to attend the ongoing National tasting trip of the Tiger Foods Nigeria Limited as it gets to Kaduna.

I’ve been a friend to the Tiger Food family and in particular, to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chief. Don Ebubeogu. I’ve also, from the sidelines been a fan of the Chairman of the company, Chief. Celestine Ebubeogu, Ide-Akokwa.

Sometimes, when an opportunity calls, we steal it whole and entire. The Tiger Foods Nigeria Limited is remarkably our associate in business.

The tasting party began well. There were side games, chess, ludo, whot and other games. There was dancing competition. The Tiger mayonnaise tasting was a great start, we lined up, had the mayo, either plain one or chocolate one spread on slices of bread.

I commend the Tiger Foods Nigerian Limited Family for such a successful outing. The city of Kaduna felt their ambience, presence and welcomed their loaded activities with open arms. This is my first time attending the ongoing tasting parties. It was an opportunity to meet with the staff, management and fans of the company in this part of Nigeria.

At this juncture, may I respectfully thank a good friend, a representative of the Kaduna State Government, Engr. Shuaibu Kabir Bello, the SSA ICT, to the Kaduna State Governor. I thank Barr. Oluchi for interconnecting us with ease. Even with short notice, I thank Mr. Bello for sending in a representative, even as he was unavoidably out of town. I thank my friends who mostly lecture at the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, Kaduna including, but not limited to Dr. Leo, Mr. Chris, Mr. Francis Ojo Mmaduekwe et al. All these guys came out and showed huge support.

The Tiger Foods Nigeria Limited Kaduna tasting party was a huge success and juts like many others who were here, I am excited that I attended.

Apart from what requires “money”, what would you want me to get for you from Kaduna?

It’s a Boy!

Proudly announcing the arrival of baby Sobechukwu Okoh, the fourth child and second son of my sister, Makua Obiano Okoh and her spouse, Chima Okoh Chima Zachary.

Sobechukwu as he has been named was born a little past midnight Nigerian time in Toronto, Canada. Another addition and Canadian citizen added to the family. We thank God for His goodness, love and this very blessing.

Good thing, baby boy and mum are in great condition. Granny was also on ground to assist her daughter throughout the journey. May God bless His child and may he grow into becoming the light.

Uncle duties just got quadrupled. God be praised!

For the Gift of a New Year, Thank You Lord!

I’m lost of words, or perhaps, do not know for sure, how best to express myself in thanksgiving for God’s love, kindness and limitless blessings all these years. In more ways than one, God’s divinity, grace and mightiness in creation has always been over me.

I’ve been greatly blessed by an amazing family, super fantastic friends, good partners and well wishers. Sometimes, even when you do not have it all, we stay so excited even in the face of foreseeable uncertainties that the world feels we have got it all. It’s contentment. It’s greasing the balm of peace to the soul. It’s to keep the mind, body and soul together.

May this birthday bring forth unequaled blessings, greater gift of life, peace and blessings overflow. I pray also, for many of my birthday mates globally, that they may find peace as well. I pray for my litanies of friends and well wishers, we all are deserving of God’s love and benevolence. May the odds favor us all.

We remember our country also. Nigeria is currently on a crossroad, rising from what many bookmakers insist has become the nation’s worst elections in history. Unfortunately, to this day, we are locked down in the doldrums, lost in confusion and left to the unknown. As humans, many of us has dutifully done our part, we now need God’s divinity and intervention in the land.

It’s my birthday, please, kindly have me in your thoughts and prayers; that’s all I ask of you.

Tomorrow, I would be sharing her thought-provoking, in-depth, strong-worded cm powerful letter to the US President, Joe Biden, raising distinctive, and in detailed form, obvious concerns about the recently concluded Nigeria’s General Elections and stating facts, fearlessly just as it where.

She beckoned on the American Caesar to act its place as the greatest democracy in the world, and not join in congratulating a supposed winner of a shabby elections in Nigeria, the supposedly stupendously wealthy APC’s, Bola Ahmed Tinibu.

Adichie by her singular action has onceagain distinguished herself as a true heroine, and she has gained a place in the annals of history, standing distinctively tall, creating her name clearly on the hearts of men and on the sand of time.

Good a thing, she fearlessly accepted to be “Obi-dient” herself; however, like most Obi-dients, she was one who was ready to accept wholeheartedly, the outcome of the elections if INEC had kept to her assurances of immediate transmission of results.

The Decision-making Week!

In this week, we will go all out and push to our elastic limit. We do not mind even leaving friends and family by the wayside. This nation has bled enough. We simply can’t continue like this.

Anyone who feels obligated to vote out of personal interest, stipends, foolishness et al, and not for the general wellness and greater well-being of this nation can break our bounds. No apologies & no hard feelings.

A lot has happened. This nation needs healing. Peter isn’t a saint, but we have seen others too well, and no way, proudly, we have chosen to make a saint out of Obi. We will risk it all for a better Nigeria for us all and generations unborn.

Damn It, And Do You!

Sometimes, we do not necessarily do the bidding of anyone else, but ours. We resort to God, His grace and glory, then proceed with whatsoever our mind conceives of. What God does not approve of, never happens.

No one ever promised that it would be all rosy. However, we are supposed to gear up towards the unforeseen, unknown and ofcourse, the tumultuous paths. As they say, there’s always light at the end of every dark tunnel.

Somehow, it seems my own Valentine’s Day should be today. I know, I am fine, na just two things remain - babe and money. We will overcome.

The destiny of a nation lies on the choices, decisions, actions and inactions of the Nationals, us Nigerians. Whichsoever way the pendulum swings, we have the determinant factor. Everyday for a fact cannot be Christmas. It’s a rare opportunity and comes once in a lifetime.

In a game of thrones, laden with wolves everywhere readily waiting to devour and destroy its prey, incredibly, God in His wisdom, mightiness and greatness has freely gifted us an option - one we can trust, rely on, believe-in and wholly give all our collective hopes and aspirations up unto, his name: Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi. He’s of the Labour Party.

Somehow, it seems the Obedient movement has dominated every nook and cranny of our multifaceted, multilingual, multiethnic, multi religious and multicultural nation. Somehow, it seems ideologically and from the backgrounds, the incumbent President himself, Muhammad Buhari, as well as the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele have joined forces and the movement. They’ve shown readiness to weaken the regular money politics, and since “we no de give shishi”, it rightly falls in our favor.

Here’s a golden opportunity to fix this nation once and for all. It’s not those times we complain or play blame games or sit on the fence. I enjoin you, arise to be counted. Social media abracadabra may be important, but it’s not enough to get the work done or do any magic. We have a huge responsibility and we all have roles individually and collectively to play.

The path to fixing this nation for the better, for our generation and generations yet unborn is here; it’s our choice to make or mar. Get involved!
