Users looking for interesting news spend a lot of time in retrieving and filtering the right news from this massive amount of available information. For this reason, delivering highly personalized news is becoming more and more important for information providers which want to add value to their services. If the personalized news comes along with video, images and sound besides the basic text desc
ription and if it can be delivered to a large number of different hardware devices the added value is definitely increased. Human activities in both private and public environment requires a new way of branding that will lead to sustainable development. The idea of showcasing a private or a public sector activity in a positive way to various viewers has many potential benefits, like creating awareness, attracting investment, promoting good governance and attaining sustainability. The power of creating reality documentaries that can be viewed on many platform can achieve these benefits. The need to support these goals has motivated
Molad E. Konsult LTD. to develop new approach called produce, propagate and monetize, PPM. In this paper we discuss the architecture and development of an interactive multimedia, multichannel and personalized news provider built on top of an existing prototypical system, LAWMATV. The main contribution of our work lies in the analysis and experiments carried out to understand how well-established and emerging technologies can be integrated to boost news providers. The PPM architecture
Our interactive multimedia, multichannel and personalized news provider integrates three activities: reality documentary productions, text classification of videos to be propagated and delivery to platforms that will boost awareness and monetization. Reality documentary Productions
Reality documentary production is a powerful method developed by Molad E. to showcase the impact of good governance or services provided. The process involves creative story telling from the beneficiaries perspective. Viewers of reality documentaries love to hear from the horses mouth and the reason is simple, they see themselves as the beneficiary. ( please take a look at some of our documentaries to see the impact that can be created through reality documentaries.) Text classification of videos to be Propagated
Text classification of videos to be propagated is very important in attracting attention. We have developed a system of classification that help to boost viewership. For example, in every sector of government be it in education, health, agriculture and energy e.t.c the impacts made in these sectors are the focal point of interest in areas such as job creation, youth empowerment, and wealth creation. (please see our Lawmatv multimedia interface or the lagos360 degree for classification example)
Delivery to platforms that will boost awareness and Monetization. We deliver multimedia contents suitable for being displayed by the user’s hardware device. be it on computers, smart phones, billboards, flat screen TV , and the internet. With our offline and online multimedia player interface. The goal is to attract sponsors and advertisers due to the wide range of viewers. Advantages
Offline and Online interactivity. Our specialized interactive multimedia player interface has both the offline and online capability. The offline section allows users to access and consume media without depending on network services. Trying to consume media that are online can cost a lot of money and time that is why we have created an interface that marries the two together. (please see the multimedia interactive media player for example)
Motivation
The reality documentary style of production helps participants, like workers, managers, customers and recipients of government services to be motivated. From our experience when government or civil servants see a documentary about someone they know, then tend to want to participate in the documentary show. For example, we did a documentary on a young male extricator and soon after that the paramedics were calling us to come and do a documentary on them after watching the one we did on the extricator. Another example was when we did a documentary on quality health care services, we decided that we use a young female surgeon to present the shows and also to narrate the stories and to our surprise everybody that participated in the documentary were motivated, they wanted us back to do more, not just that, the patients too wanted documentaries to be done about them and their recovery process. Archiving
In order to have a proper and well organized media hub that can survive the test of time, a multimedia player interface like the one we have created is needed because all of your media are in a digital format that can be access anytime anywhere without the fear of a copy of dvd is missing. We also follow project from start to the end and beyond thereby archiving all projects in the process with a documentary style that shows project and impacts. Our multimedia player interface and film production services is of huge benefits to both private and government agencies because we add value when it comes to sustainability. Monetization
Most advertisers and those doing business with government would like to pay as sponsors for a documentary that is focused on good governance, meaning that, monetization is an option that can be explored if the policy and laws allows it. IMPLEMENTATION
The processes involved in implementing all of the above will start from
A) the production of new contents and conversion of previously produced content to a digital format
B) Classification and development of the multimedia interactive media player. C) Procurement of platforms for distribution for example, smart phones, mac laptops, flat screen TV, billboards and setup boxes. Over the recent years, multimedia gave a tremendous impact all over the world, and changed our daily life in many ways. It is expected that mobile multimedia applications, such as Lagos360 degree and LawmaTV will be the way to sustain the future. INTERACTIVE MEDIA PLAYER INTERFACE
