If you’re from a poor family, like me, please listen.
I wanna introduce you to STUBBORN FOCUS. It may help you.
Those of us from low-income households see life differently. We always see limitations and not possibilities.
Due to our conditioning. We were mentored to be humble, hide, lower our voice, beg, and never to stand on our own.
Insufficiency is seen as a virtue.
They even call our economics: “humble backgrounds.”
That humble there is actually humiliation.
Listen…
I am just an ordinary guy like you. I was taught that only the rich can afford basic things, travel and shine brightly. But I refused.
The first thing I did was to dissociate myself from such thinking. To disabuse my mind, I decided to ALWAYS give my best in whatever I find myself in.
Be it school, skills, relationships or anything… I will go extra length to stay excellent. My main aim was on STUBBORN focus.
I consciously stopped taking advice from people who feed my “humility.” I followed people who redefined humility and pumped my energy to achieve goals.
I noticed the humility marketed to the poor is just a painkiller for the humiliation the poor pass through.
I asked… these big names, do they have two heads? Why will I be the one being pitied? No not them. Hmmm.
WHATEVER WILL HAPPEN… LET IT HAPPEN.
I told myself:
I won’t beg, I will find a way to get it done.
I won’t hide, whatever comes I will chest it.
I will hustle, read, work harder than rich kids (the game is rigged against me, so I need to double down).
I released myself and since then… STUBBORNNESS has pushed me greatly.
Then, here we are. Daily, we are pushing it. Hitting. Thinking objectively. Staying mentally independent.
Stay stubborn!
