Growing up, I walked closely with the man who co-transported me to the surface of this earth. In walking and learning from him, I learnt patience, I learnt content, I learnt courage, I learnt perseverance, I learnt kindness, tolearance, love, sacrifice and faith.
My father would often play both the role of the father and mother unflinchingly. His love is deep and expressive in his actions and sacrifices. I can say I know what love is today because he taught me to love. I know what kindness means because he thought me the truest acts of kindness with his deeds.
As I grew to become independent and embraced life’s “ups and downs”, My father kept me going with just three words “I Trust You”. Those words kept me in check and I will often double check my decisions. “ Will my dad be proud of me if I did this or that?”. I grew up away from home but not away from the constant fatherly love.
“Best Daughter in the World” as he often addresses me keeps me in check and reminds me that only tears of Joy are allowed to flow through his eyes. Amazingly, as emotional as he keeps his face, he couldn’t stop the tears that streamed down his cheeks on my wedding day.
Shoutout to all the Heroes who do not necessarily wear capes but have been our strongest support system. We love you beyond bounds!
