President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Saudi-Africa Summit on Thursday, November 9.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in pictures shared on Facebook.

According to Onanuga, the President was received by the Governor of Riyadh, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Abdulaziz, and Nigeria's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Yahaya Lawal.

Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has called out the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, over alleged debt.

Recall that Terry G was one of the artistes that performed at President Bola Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, in May.

He claimed that some persons were in possession of money that he was supposed to get after performing for President Bola Tinubu's campaign in a widely shared video.

The Akpako Master added via his Instagram story on Monday that he has given the situation over to God.

He wrote “For the people or whoever wey chop the money I worked for this APC campaign matters so make he no worry say nothing don do them o. I leave am to God. It’s only a matter of time.”

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is set to return to Italy on Wednesday following his extended one-week leave from Napoli which he spent in Nigeria, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Osimhen had been in Nigeria for over a week to attend to family matters and undergo rehabilitation for a hamstring injury sustained in a friendly match in October.

The 24-year-old picked up the injury in a 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia and has missed Napoli’s games against Hella Verona, Union Berlin, AC Milan and Salernitana.

In Osimhen’s absence, Napoli have stepped up their games winning three and drawing one of the four matches played.

FULafia V-C commissions projects as FSSA holds maiden inter-departmental quiz, debate competition

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Faculty of Science has held its maiden inter-departmental quiz, impromptu speech and debate competition with many participants describing the event as a good development for the University.

The maiden competition was, specifically, organised by the Faculty of Science Students Association (FASSA), FULafia Chapter, and featured the commissioning of projects sponsored by the association.

The event was held at the Adamu Mallam Adamu lecture lecture hall in the Permanent Site Campus of the University.

In his addressed at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, said the grand finale for the first inter departmental quiz, debate, impromptu speech competition conceived by the students of FASSA was timely and in tandem with the vision of his administration.

He said that the competition will "promote confidence building, talent development and yield positive results in the near future."

The vice-chancellor commended the leadership of the faculty for given the students training in various academic fields to achieve excellence.

Abdul Rahman, while advising the students to avoid nagative groups in campus and align themselves with the positive ones, he called on the leadership of the faculty to continue mentoring the students in order to sustain the existing relationship.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Mathew Aremu, said that the FASSA sponsored projects were constructed to foster harmonious relationship amongst students and make the environment look better.

Delivering her lecture, the Matron of FASSA, Dr Aisha Bello, applauded the FASSA executives for providing good leadership to their members.

She urged the students to take advantage of the competition to expand their extra curricular activities and enhance their knowledge and skills.

Earlier, in his welcome addressed, the President of FASSA Comrade Zaidu Yusuf Salihu, said: "We initiated many events and programmes that bring students together such as the first annual FULafia Faculty of Science public lecture tagged: Orientation for new admitted students 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic session, inter-departmental competition.”

The event featured the commissioning of students sit-out and signboard at the faculty and award presentation to the overall winners of the competition by the vice-chancellor.

Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu's leg amputated after undergoing seven surgeries

One of the legs of comic Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has been amputated.

A post on the actor's Nollywood page on Monday stated that the actor underwent seven successful surgeries, but one of his legs had to be amputated to keep him alive and aid his recovery process.

The post reads: "We want to appreciate everyone that has come through for our dad, saying we are grateful is an understatement and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you've rendered.

"As of 1 pm ,noon today , Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery one of his legs had to be amputated.. This development has been hard on us all but we've had to accept it as Daddy's new reality to keep him alive.

"Please we are still soliciting for support from well meaning Nigerians as this stage Daddy his is still one very delicate one and he needs all the help he can get.

"Thank you everyone, the Okafor family is grateful and we don't take you for granted. In due time daddy will personally acknowledge everyone who supported during this period as soon as he’s stable!"

PHOTOS: Truck Crushes Keke, Damages Car In Lagos

A multiple-car accident involving a tricycle (keke), a car, and a truck occurred on Monday at the Daleko link bridge inward LASPOTECH in the Isolo area of Lagos State.

This was revealed in photos shared on X by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.

According to LASTMA, the crash was a result of the brake failure of the loaded truck.

The photos reveal how the crash left the keke badly damaged and trapped under the truck.

The car involved in the collision also sustained significant damage to its front end.

LASTMA added that no casualties were involved, adding that police officers from the Ilasa Division, along with LASTMA officers, were fully on the ground as efforts were on for evacuation.

IPAC Scores Governor Sule High In Infrastructural Devt

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has reportedly scored Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State high in Infrastructural development.

IPAC, an umbrella body of political parties in the country gave the commendation shortly after touring the remodelled Governor's Lodge in Abuja.

The National Chairman of IPAC, Engineer Yabagyi Sani who led a delegation of the Council on state-wide tour of projects described the Lodge as world-class and commended the present administration for translating democracy to tangible gains for the people.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam (Makaman Tilde) said Governor Sule has redefined governance in the State in barely few years in office.

Brief on the Aren Eggon stool

The Aren Eggon traditional institution which began in 1922 with the appointment of Bashayi, son of a notable Fulani slave raider from the Keffi royal family witnessed so much transformation. This is premised on the non-centralized nature of the Eggon traditional political set up which was based on elders ruling (gerontocracy). The appointment of Bashayi as District Head of South Mada District covering the area later referred to as Eggon Chiefdom was initially resisted by the indigenous people, but they had to eventually give in to the trappings of colonial rule.

Bala Abaine Angbazo, the present occupant of the most revered centralized traditional political stool in Eggon land mounted the saddle of leadership on July 11, 1981 after being elected by the twenty-two kingmakers as the paramount ruler of the people. Bala Angbazo won eight (8) votes to beat his closest rival, Late Alhaji Adamu Musa Galle who scored seven (7). Late Esla Alu scored five (5), Ali Ide two (2) and the remaining getting no votes. Eight candidates initially indicated interest but one was said to have stepped down. Bala Angbazo was elected sequel to the demise of Abdullahi Idde, the preceding paramount ruler who died on May 6, 1981, having been appointed to the throne in October 1953. Late Abdullahi Idde was formally installed as Aren Eggon on 22nd October, 1954.

For the records, the twenty-two Village Heads who were the kingmakers (many who are dead now) are: Akyen Namo (Wana), Yusufu Dauda (Alogani), Anzume Umbugudu (Wakama), Ali Elle (Agunji), Agyo Agbu (Umme), Ostona Kuje(Wangibi), Musa Aliyu (Angbashu), Agu Envulunza (Lizzin-Keffi), Ajagabo (Ekka) and Tabe Angbo(Ginda). Others include Peter Nangba (Alushi), Avre (Alizaga), Ala Kuson (Lambaga), Male Najo (Arikpa), Ambaga Affi (Ogba), Haruna Attah (Ogbagi), Adamu Ekpa (Galle), Muhammadu Gama Ekka (Bakyeno) and Audu Egga (Arugbadu).
