Nyeneime Andy Berates Fathers of Faith Over 2023 Guber Election
-Claims "foreign pastor" destabilizing A'Ibom politics, church
-Says third force may emerge if PDP, APC slack

By Edidiong Udobia

The Presiding Pastor of Holy Ghost Ambassadors Ministry, Apostle Nyeneime Andy has berated a faction of spiritual leaders in Akwa Ibom State under the aegis of Fathers of Faith for their continuous overbearing involvement in the politics of the state ahead of 2023 governorship election.

Apostle Andy, while addressing newsmen yesterday in his office, appealed to the fathers of faith to restrict their involvement in the 2023 governorship election to an advisory role and allow those whom they have trained in the ministry over the years to lead the charge, insisting that the decision of the fathers of faith will not be binding.

"In every church denomination today, certain people at certain age are retired. The Prelate of many churches, when you get to 70, 75, they retire you. Some churches like Presbyterian, they retire their elders. It doesn't mean they are pushing them out of church, but the older you grow, you wax deem. They are still anointed, but their strength determines the output.

"So if you look at our fathers of faith, most of us have worked with them and served them in many years, and I believe that every Moses must raise a Joshua; every Elijah mush have Elisha because there must be a succession plan. And we believe come 2023, that our fathers of faith should play a role advisory, mentorship and should allow the sons they have raised overtime to stand in to help Akwa Ibom people choose the next governor of this state because mentally, they are sound, physically, they are sound, spiritually, they are sound", he said.

In what can be described as a shocking revelation, the clergy further disclosed that a certain "foreign pastor" whose name he withheld, is using his closeness to the state government to destabilize the church and politics of the state through blackmail, adding that pastors in Akwa Ibom will strongly resist the foreign Pastor.

"There are certain pastors who are not residents in Akwa Ibom State, who now parade themselves as God. They say some persons in government only listen to them. In fact, some people in government don't listen to any pastor from Akwa Ibom. It is an error. If there's no one that will speak up, I stand as Jeremiah of my time that this error must be corrected.

"No pastor from Lagos or Abuja has the right to chose or control what we do in Akwa Ibom State politically. They should come for evangelism, we won't complain.

"He shouldn't come and say he wants to chose the governor of Akwa Ibom State. Not when we have fathers of Faith and sons of faith. God is not an author of confusion. God did not take a prophet elsewhere to rescue the children of Israel. He raised a prophet amongst the people. So, we are asking those parading themselves as pastors and General Overseers to go to their own State and raise a governor.

"To be honest, there is division in the church caused by foreigners. Before now, there was nothing like fathers of Faith. That started just few years back. This so called pastor is trying to make our fathers knock their heads. I can tell you 5 different groups have emerged because of this man. He is calling pastor A to fight Pastor B. That is not how Akwa Ibom used to be.

"The present situation is that people are running spiritual things based on personal interest. The Interest of the state must be paramount. The spiritual leaders are comfortable to serve in the role of house boys to the foreign pastor. Some pastors feel privileged to be introduced to certain people. And it is because of some certain peanuts they come to present to them."

Apostle Andy further called on the two leading political parties in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC, to ensure that they choose people who have lived and grown in the state as governorship candidates in 2023, assuring that a third force will emerge if both PDP and APC fail to give Akwa Ibom people the choice of a homegrown governor.

"In 2023, it will be a government of the people, for the people and by the people. We will not allow one person to choose a governor for a state of over 6 million people.

"It is time for us to step up and play a major role. The choice of Governor will not be someone that appears from the moon. Someone who has not been in this State and has felt the pain. We will not agree to anyone. When people are hungry and people who don't stay around them come, they won't know why they are hungry. They will feel they are lazy.

"Anyone chosen in any Political party, he must be known for the sacrifices he has done. If you allow someone who just joined the party on the name of I have been there before to take over, you'll be the first people that will suffer. We need someone who has been in the State and has contributed to the growth of the party. We need a homegrown person."

"If they ignore this, there will be a third force. We will sign and say in the name of Jesus, a governor of the people must be raised. We will prayerfully ask God to guide the two major parties although there is going to be a third force in case they don't give us who we want.

"2023 will not be about party but interest. We will Ignore party and play the interest of the person we believe is going to lead us to the glory of God. The role of every citizens must be emphasized. The last election, less than a million people voted. What happened to the other people? More than 3 millions people are eligible to vote."

Nya-Etok Joins ADC Ahead of 2023 Polls
-As Nat'l Chair, Ors Talk Tough, Party Ready to Takeover A'Ibom, Nigeria

By Edidiong Udobia

A renowned social governance advocate, Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok has officially joined one of Nigeria's leading political parties, African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the country is gearing towards the 2023 general elections.

Nya-Etok, who was received into the party yesterday, by the national chairman of ADC, High Chief Ralph Nwosu, was issued a membership card in a well-attended ceremony held at the party's state secretariat, No. 6 Bassey Esau Street, Uyo.

Presenting Nya-Etok to the national officers of ADC, the state chairman of the party, Mr. Utip Etiebet described his as a 'big catch' whose political ideology is in line with the objectives of ADC, adding that Nya-Etok is a refined politician who has left indelible mark in the country.

Etiebet revealed that Nya-Etok's coming into the party is only the beginning of the mass exodus of Akwa Ibom people who will be joining the party in no distant time, adding that thr people are fed up with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC.

"For now, ADC does not even have a councillor in Akwa Ibom, but I want to assure you that in less than 24 months, we will call you again to come and witness the swearing-in of some House of Assembly members.

"I should also tell you that from the outcome of the general election in 2023, there will be need for us to go to the national assembly in June so that we can accompany our candidates that will be sworn-in.

"Sir, for governorship, if I say it, it will look as if I'm boasting but I can assure that at the state level here, come May 29, 2023, I am going to put you in the best hotel in Akwa Ibom when you come to witness the swearing-in of the governor which we will produce".

Etiebet noted that the process of actualizing the party's 2023 objectives is beginning with the reception of Nya-Etok whom he revealed has shown the willingness to partner with the party at all fronts in order to the party's objectives further.

"Ezekiel Nya-Etok, an architect, the man the masses call A1, met us some weeks ago and told us that he will want to come and associate with us openly. So the major reason why we are here today is to identify with someone who is willing to identify with our party", Etiebet added while presenting the membership card of ADC to Arc. Nya-Etok.

Receiving Nya-Etok on behalf of the national leadership of the party, the national chairman, Chief Nwosu commended Arc. Nya-Etok for choosing the political party that has the best interest of the people, adding that other parties have failed.

Nwosu noted that ADC is emerging as the credible alternative for Nigeria and that Akwa Ibom cannot be left behind, adding that as a party that values credibility, transparency and accountability, ADC is gaining the trust and support of Nigerians.

The political bigwig further lambasted the ruling All Progressives Congress for plunging the nation into untold hardship, suffering, bloodshed, insecurity and corruption, adding that the elites who are still defecting to APC despite its failures, do not have the interest of their people at heart.

"Anybody who says they are not disturbed by what is happening in the country today is lying. We have seen APC in their poorest of form. We have seen the way the administration is governing. It disturbs me that people from Akwa Ibom, people from Enugu, people Anambra are leaving other parties to the party that is causing all Nigerians the greatest pains.

"Same party, under their rule, the bloodshed is beyond what we had during the civil war and some of your elites in Akwa Ibom, some of the elites in South South, some of the elites in South East, elites in South West, elites in North Central, elites in North West, are entering the same party.

"Under 6 years of democratic rule, we have seen people being slaughtered. There is no state in Nigeria that is not feeling the effect of their misrule, yet you see people who call themselves patriots still joining the same party", he said.

Nwosu boasted that with the recent online poll conducted by an independent youth body where ADC had the highest votes from Nigerians as the most preferred political party ahead of 2023, it was evident that the party will be taking over the country.

"ADC is the only party that has a clear DNA. DNA of discipline and responsibility, radical transparency and we are imbibing these values so that it will be easy for us when we get to the government house, when we get to the villa".

In his remarks, Arc. Nya-Etok thanked the party for the overwhelming support and warm welcome accorded him, noting that he chose ADC because the party's ideals perfectly align with his political ideologies.

The 2023 governorship hopeful noted that the current system of governance from the country to the state is one that promotes the begging culture among the citizens because it deliberately deprives the citizens of meaningful source of livelihood.

Nya-Etok revealed that as one who has been blessed by God, he came into politics to break the dependency syndrome by providing the right governance, assuring that come 2023, he will be elected as the governor of Akwa Ibom.

"I have been laughed at before, they can as well laugh again. I am telling you that in 2023, by the grace of God, I am going to be the governor of this state. I am not just talking because I don't talk anyhow and I can tell you how it's going to happen", he said.

Other national officers of the party also spoke at the event highlighting the party's chances in the 2023 general elections. Other highpoints of the event were the inauguration of the party's state secretariat by the national chairman and a media parley at Novone Garden Estate, Uyo.

Fathers of Faith Reaffirm Stand Against Occult, Cultism Ahead of 2023

By Edidiong Udobia

The Spiritual Fathers' Forum has reaffirmed its stand against supporting individuals who are members of occult or cult groups to contest in the 2023 governorship election of Akwa Ibom state or any other position in the state.

The Forum, which made this known yesterday during a press conference, noted that her members are worried over the heightened threats to safety and security in the state as a result of the increased cult-related activities, adding that cultism has become a menace in the state.

Addressing the press, the chairman of the Forum, His Eminence, Sunday Mbang said that the Forum is taking the stand as the spiritual fathers of the state because Akwa Ibom is a predominantly Christian state.

"Once again, be reminded that Akwa Ibom State is more than 90% Christian. However, in the church, government, public and private services of the state, as well as in our tertiary, secondary and even primary schools today, cultism has crawled in as canker worm to destroy our citizens.

"Christianity is a religion of peace, while cultism is a form of religious worship that permits that permits the administration of and devotion to a person or thing which often times uses violence to ensure perpetuation of belief.

"Cultists are devotees not believers. Whereas cultists are devoted to their leaders, Christians are devoted to Jesus Christ and God the Father. Cultism has polluted the character and behaviour of our youths and even minor children".

The clergy further revealed that cultists are having strong interest in politics and governance in order to expand their grip of the state and are recruiting through deception and provision of material incentives and benefits.

"We cannot, as Christian leaders, allow the continuous perversion of the characters and spirits of our citizens, hence our opposition to cultism, spreading its evil tentacles in our state and nation.

"We are committed to praying, counselling and openly working to ensure that peace and progress subsist in our state and nation and our children and citizens saved from the suffocating and alluring hold of cultists and occultist.

"Therefore, the Spiritual Fathers' Forum cannot and will not support the election of a known cultist into our political system and political offices", Prelate Mbang affirmed.

When quizzed on how the Forum can identify a cultist, the renowned clergyman disclosed that 13 aspirants have consulted him and he told them to go and hold a world press conference declaring that they do not belong to any cult or occult groups.

"So far, 13 aspirants have visited me on consultation. I told them to go to the press and renounce cultism. Without doing this, they would not govern this state. Christians would not vote for them. We are still waiting for them".
