This week, our Digital Skills and Fact-checking Training, conducted in partnership with Google News Initiative, took place concurrently in Akure, Nigeria, and Koforidua, Ghana.

The training focused on enhancing the capacity of journalists in non-urban communities, introducing participants to essential fact-checking techniques and various Google tools for information coverage and verification. It comes at a crucial time, with upcoming state elections in Nigeria and general elections in Ghana.

In Ghana, we took the two-day Digital Skills and Fact-checking training to Koforidua, aligning with our objective of expanding capacity-building efforts to non-urban communities. During the training, participants learned fact-checking techniques and how to deploy Google tools for general reporting and fact-checking.

This initiative underscores DUBAWA's dedication to promoting truth and verification within Ghanaian newsrooms, especially in preparation for the December 2024 polls.
