E CHOKE! I met the lady my guy was cheating on me with at a bar with another guy.
Yes, I was with her brother. Two can play the game.
As a Lagos girl, I am everything you can ever think of. I am pretty, petty, jovial, and dangerous.
My street credibility and rich wise are top-notch. My father was a former chairman of one of the garages in Lagos.
As soon as she saw me and her brother holding hands, she charged towards me, but the gentleman she was with held her back.
“Tiny legs fl**zy. Brother, please get yourself protection before you touch her.”
She yelled. Her eyes were rolling like the rim of a car. Her brother and I looked at each other and smiled.
She couldn't take the embarrassment. She geared towards me with a bottle in her hand.
“Old cargo! You try Ben, you failed. Femi's wasted property! Whatever you think you can get from my brother has finished. Amoosu!”
She lambasted me again. I didn't say anything. On a normal day, the old Tessy would have designed her face with countless slaps and punches, and turn her clothes into rags. But I do not understand why I didn't lose my cool that very night.
I guess my madness was resting. If not, her wig would have journeyed to Mushin, and one of her teeth deposited at Bariga. Yeah, call me ghetto. That's who I am.
Little did she know that the current guy she was out with was my school son. He left her side and walked up to me. She doesn't know how old I was, but I guess guys are kinda blind. They go for every lady who puts on a skimpy dress that exposes their cleavages and endowed backside.
I am well-endowed, and I carry myself with swag too, but Laura's package was excessively much. The way she flaunts it would confuse any man.
At 33 years, I lost the appetite for dating for fun. I wanted something real that would lead to marriage. I was afraid of time wasters and destiny destroyers.
“Sister Tessy, good evening. You look stunning as ever.”
Mike said. I turned to look at Laura's face, she bowed her head.
“Aburo (little brother), enjoy life jawe. Don't worry, I will sort the bills okay.”
I hugged him and left. I later joined Laura's brother in the VIP section of the bar.
Laura couldn't sit peacefully. She kept coming to check on her brother. Apparently, she excused her brother outside almost three times. I don't know what she was telling him. But anytime Nkem returns, he would hold me close and kiss me.
“I am so proud of you.”
I don't know what they talked about. Soon he ordered champagne and I begged him to invite her sister into the VIP section. He did.
She reluctantly accepted. She wasn't comfortable with me there. That poor boy tried to kiss her, but she kept pushing him back.
I hate pretence. If you want to be bad, be bad with your full chest.
A few minutes later, I saw people with beautiful flowers walking in, and the DJ changed the music to Timi Dakolo's 'Iyawo mi' track.
The flower girls came in coincidentally at the same time my boyfriend, sorry ex-fiancee; Femi who cheated on me with Laura walked in.
He saw Laura with another guy, and he also saw me with another guy. He became confused about whom to be angry with.
Which puzzle should he solve first? But he kept looking at me.
I already held the empty bottle of champagne and was ready to defend myself.
He has beaten me more than three times, all because I complained about Laura. He stopped paying my house rent because he found Laura.
I was only trying to respect him because one particular pastor told me that he is the man God chose for me from heaven. And that, any other man I get married to will die and would be childless.
As he stood petrified and confused, Nkem stood up and the light in the club went off, and a multicoloured love-shaped light surrounded us and I saw some words appear on the wall.
“Tessy, I don't need a good girl, but I want a bad girl to help me deal with a bad life. Will you be my Mrs. Smith and me, your Mr. Smith?”
I read it word for word. I tried to hide the tears that rained down my eyes. Likewise, I couldn't. It was heavy.
Nkem told me he wanted something serious, but I thought after sleeping with me, he would run. I pushed him away and insulted him, all because I was with someone who never appreciated me. I thought he wanted s*x, so I gave him my body. He refused to touch me. Just for me to be certain he was serious.
Femi didn't know how I got my rent paid and revived my business. It was all because Nkem invested in me. He did it because he truly loves me.
Femi has never shown up at my shop to assist with sales. Instead, he would be calling me to close the shop and come home to cook.
He earns good money and was supportive from the onset, but he suddenly stopped when he met Laura.
I screamed yes! Nkem picked me up and began to dance for joy.
I never knew someone was somewhere waiting to wife me. While I was wasting away in another man's arm.
Suddenly, I saw Femi walk up to Nkem and they both hugged. He faced me.
“The truth is, I wasn't going to marry you. Because I am not ready. And when I saw him coming to your shop and disturbing you, I met him, and we had Man to Man talk. He told me his intentions and he was real. Why keep a good woman away from a good man? I decided to make his dream come true. I am sorry I had to throw the love you have for me back to your face. It was real and deep. It wasn't my fault. It's because I found your husband when you are busy trying to make me one. What's the essence of having you and not wif-ying you? Enough of my talk. Give me a cup; Congratulations to you both.”
Femi said. He wasn't emphatic or remorseful about it. I was pained.
“I have nothing to do with your boyfriend. Nkem wanted you so bad. Femi and I came up with the idea of cheating. But I didn't ask him to beat you. My brother really loves you. I am glad today to see you both take this beautiful thing to another level”
Laura also voiced out. I stood motionless and teary. I had mixed feelings. Not only that, but I don't know if to throw the ring back at him or just walk away. Or just pounce on Femi and Laura.
Truly, Nkem didn't entice me with his wealth, but he was more caring than Femi. I fell in love with him naturally.
Igbo guys are really romantic. Aside from their business, the only thing next to their heart is their family. They can go to any length to make you happy. You can go ahead with the love, they will catch up with you and spoil you with care.😂🙈
So try dating an Igbo guy this year 😂😂
As for the pastor, he lied. He wasn't a real man of God. I don't know what he saw.
Nkem and I are celebrating our 7 years wedding anniversary today. We are blessed with three strong boys.
Rejoice with us.
When you are given a negative prophecy, reject it immediately and tell God what you want. He will give it to you. Swears!
Thanks.
