President TINUBU Urged To Release DCP Kyari
A non-governmental organisation, One Voice Development Initiative, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene decisively and ensure the release of detained deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Abba Kyari, to return back to service.

The leader of the group, Abbas Abdullah Yakasai, made the plea yesterday while addressing journalists in Kano.

He said Kyari was a true patriotic officer, who dedicated his life to the service and preserving the integrity of the country, hence his prolonged incarceration for more than two years have raised serious concerns about the subversion of his constitutional rights and freedom.

He said, “Kyari is known for his zeal, dedication and commitment to excellence. His record of service and sacrifices in defence of our nation exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

“It is disheartening to witness the efforts of DCP Abba Kyari being tarnished by enemies of Nigeria and some groups of highly connected criminals/terrorists with members both abroad and in Nigeria who have vowed to destroy Nigeria and break it into pieces.

To the glory of God, we were able to make 90.2% of the target amount”.

VIRAL VIDEO BY A VIGILANTE COMMANDER ALLEDGING KIDNAP OF FIFTEEN PERSON AND MURDER OF FOURTEEN PERSONS IN OWO-OYIBU IS NOT ENTIRELY TRUE AND SHOULD BE DISREGARDED

CP ABANIWONDA OLUFEMI CONDEMNS THE SPREADING FALSE NEWS THAT INCITES FEAR IN THE HEART OF THE PUBLIC

The Command is aware of a viral video making the rounds and posted on some social media platforms made by one Mr. Benjamin Samuel, the commander of the Owa-Ekei Vigilante group about an alleged sprout of a ring kidnappers tormenting the Agbor region of Delta State, and the supposed kidnapping of fifteen persons and the murder of fourteen within the environ. The Command wishes to debunk the narrative and urge the public to disregard the video and the false message therein.

Upon validating the falsehood of the said narrative, the CP directed that the said vigilante commander be invited for questioning. Preliminary investigation revealed that the incidents as narrated by the said Benjamin Samuel were false. Apparently, it was established that he told these untrue stories based on what he was told without clarification which eventually misled members of the public and further instilled fear in the hearts of the good people of Delta State. Though his claim regarding the kidnapping and murder of one of his members is true, blowing it out of proportion by exaggerating the number is unacceptable.

The CP appealed to members of the public, particularly indigenes of Ika Kingdom, to remain calm as he assured them that under his watch, the command would do everything possible to safeguard the lives and properties of all Deltans. He further added that he has tasked officers and men of the command to boost the security architecture of the State.

Conclusively, the CP warns everyone who engages in circulating false stories capable of upsetting the security of the state, that the command will move against them and ensure that they are brought to book. Nonetheless, the public is urged to remain vigilant and to notify the police of any suspicious activity, person or movement in their environment.

Insecurity: Rivers State Police Command Crushes Criminal Kingpin as CP Moves to End General 2man's Reign of Terror in Ogbologbo Community

- Urge residents to join hands with the police to combat crimes

The Rivers State Police Command has taken another giant step in its ongoing onslaught against cultism and other related crimes in the state. Today, April 8, 2024, a team of police officers was deployed to the Ogbologbo community in Ahoada West Local Government Area to bring an end to the reign of terror of one Ikem ThankGod, popularly known as General 2man.

General 2man, a close ally of the now neutralized 2Baba and General Odereke, was a terror in the Ahoada West Local Government Area and neighbouring Local Government Areas. Some of his nefarious activities include the shooting to death of Inspector Usang Ude on April 13, 2023.

On March 5, 2024, he also murdered four persons, namely, Henry Kirirka, Patience Henry, Abigail Victor, and Chigozie Okpo. He also slaughtered one Samuel Philip without provocation. Last month, he buried several persons alive, including Christmas Ede and Agode Gamany.

He has carried out a lot of kidnapping activities within and outside the Ahoada West Local Government Area. His catalogue of criminal activities also includes armed robbery and vandalisation of valuable properties. He coordinates the deroofing of public buildings and the selling of the roofing sheets. He also constituted himself as an authority that approves social events within the Local Government Area. This has made him attack and disrupt weddings, burials, etc., which he did not approve of.

During the operation, General 2man and his gang opened fire on the Police tactical team. Though he was able to evade arrest, his second-in-command, ThankGod Uchechi aka, ‘Pastor SP,’ and his third-in-command, ‘Western King’ Okpo Emenike were fatally wounded. Several gang members escaped with gunshot injuries, and two loaded AK-47 rifles and eight magazines were recovered from the gang. Concerted efforts are in top gear to bring General 2man and his fleeing gang members to justice and put an end to his reign of terror.

Tunji Disu, the commissioner of Police, at Rivers State Police Command, while commending the tactical team for their efforts, reiterates his commitment to fighting crimes in the state. He equally urged members of the public to feed the police with reliable information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspects and other criminal elements in the State.
