The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it has stopped sale of foreign exchange (FX) to Bureau De Change (BDCs) operators in the country. Godwin Emefiele, governor of the apex bank, announced this at the end of the monetary policy committee meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, ETI (Eco bank) recorded a 33.04 per cent rise in its profit before tax for the first half of the year ended June 30, 2021. In its unaudited financial statement for the first half of the year 2021, Ecobank said its operating income improved by 15.35 per cent year-on-year from June 30, 2020. A nine-year-old girl who allegedly burnt a supermarket estimated at N5 billion has been arrested in Abuja. The girl, identified as Joana Ogar, was caught by a CCTV setting Prince Ebeano Supermarket located at Lokogoma/Gudu junction, Abuja on fire.
