THE VALUE OF SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT

Most people do not know that to fulfill our kingdom assignments and to advance the kingdom in general, skill and human abilities can only take us so far. There is a limit to which skill can go. This is where the supernatural comes in. Luke 24:49, Jesus was speaking to His disciples and He urged them to tarry until they were endowed with power. Jesus who was speaking to them had already given to them information but He said that is not enough. You tarry until you are endowed with power. You need more than a message, you need more than an ability; you need power.
Most believers have the message but they do not have the power to back and to validate the speakings they have been given. In Acts 4:33, the Bible says, and with great power gave the Apostles witness of the Lord Jesus and great grace was upon them all.
I have learnt that your Christian experience will be a cycle of pain if you ignore the value of spiritual empowerment. You do not have to be a preacher to desire spiritual empowerment. You cannot produce God’s dimension of results using the strength of the flesh. It says by thee I can run through a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall. How do you run through a troop as one man? Ask the mighty men of David. He stood in one position and brought down 800 men with a sword and the sword refuse to leave his hand. Do not downplay what the power of the Holy Spirit can do in the lives of ordinary men. We may not seem like much in ourselves but not after the power comes. Jesus recommended the endowment of power to the disciples who will later become Apostles. He said Tarry. And then the Bible says now when the day of Pentecost was fully come, suddenly, the Bible says there was a mighty rushing wind, a sound from heaven and power came.
Listen, ministry is going to be frustrating if you do not value spiritual empowerment. Let me tell you the truth: it takes power to be wealthy. It’s called the power to be wealthy. Not just the common sense to get wealth. It takes more than a right mind to be blessed. It takes power to ward off the arsenals of darkness over your family that seeks to destroy everybody.
Value and go after spiritual empowerment!

TRAINING PRODUCES MASTERY

Training is very important. Training produces mastery. This is not just a spiritual concept. Masters are people who have submitted themselves over an extended period of time to intense training. In Acts 2:42, we saw this pattern, the Bible says, they continued steadfastly in the Apostle’s doctrine and fellowship and breaking of bread and in prayers. What was the results? Vs 43 and 44 says, and fear came upon every soul and many wonders were done by the Apostles. And all that believed had all things together in common.
Imagine if the believers got saved and everybody was freelancing his knowledge, there will be serious confusion among the body of Christ. It was that their coming together to be methodically trained by these chief Apostles was what produced synergy in their understanding.
You never attain unto a state of mastery in the Spirit until and unless you are trained. Training exposes you to the knowledge required for victory while minimizing error and waste. The value of training is that it distills the knowledge that is useful and minimizes if not totally avoiding error and waste. That means, it immediately suggests that there are many spiritual information that are useless as far as the overall excelling of the believer is concerned. Just because it is spiritual does not mean it is needed in your life. The Bible has a concise capture of the kind of knowledge you need to learn God and to live a victorious life. But the spiritual information found in the Bible is not the only spiritual information that exists in the spirit realm. You can route through other channels and at the end of it they will produce something else but not God. There are many other books that are written and are still written, spiritual in context but as far as the knowledge of God is concerned and your overall excellence as a believer is concerned, that knowledge is absolutely useless.
When you begin a blind pursuit for spiritual things without being trained and guided, chances are excellent you will stumble at a lot of spiritual information that will wow you and for many years you will pride in the accumulation of these information except that you will not sustain the power to administer life. The Bible says, ever learning but not coming into the knowledge of the truth. So what did they learn? It means they were learning a lie. It says to be careful what you call light lest it be called darkness.

UNDERSTAND AND ENGAGE THE LAWS OF THE KINGDOM

If you want to contend for mastery, if you want your life to produce high level spiritual excellence you have to understand and engage the laws and the principles of the kingdom. Two very important words. You can understand and fail to engage, you will still not get results. You need to understand, then obtain grace to engage the laws and the principles of the kingdom.

When it has to do with seeing the glory of God revealed in the life of a believer, there is always a part you have to play. Every kind of Christian practice that makes the outcome of your life absolutely dependent on God without any participation from your own end is inaccurate. When it has to with your life and destiny, it is not all up to God and it is not all up to you. Leviticus 9:6, Moses told the people, this is what the LORD hath commanded that ye should do, it says, and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. You want to see the appearance of the glory, don’t just wish for the glory, there are things to do.

In Exodus 33, Moses asked the LORD for two things: the first was to know the ways of God and the second, show me your glory. So there is a relationship between His ways and His glory. Don’t just ask for His glory, you must know His ways. So seek to understand and engage the laws and principles of the kingdom for an excelling life.

THE SACRIFICE OF ABSOLUTE SURRENDER

Most believers wants to gain mastery, they want to gain power with God, and they want to excel at extraordinary levels but they violate this very first law. The first law of dominion as far as gaining mastery is concerned is absolute surrender; not just what you do, what you are. You must assume a state and a posture in the spirit where your life is completely surrendered. So when you come forward to what we call giving your life to Christ. In reality, you are not giving your life to Christ, when you come forward to be saved. What you are doing is receiving His life.

Because there is something wrong with that life that’s why you are coming for another one. So when you really come to Christ, you’re not necessarily giving your life but receiving His life. Now, giving your life to Christ is an activity of surrender that prepares you for service. The Bible now demands that you give your life to Christ if and when you are prepared to be used by the LORD. So giving your life to Christ is an activity for matured believers who desired to be greatly used by God.

Let me assure you, two of you can be believers in the same church, but the possibilities that you command among many other factors will depend on the degree at which you are surrendered. You will never be able to receive the same kind of result with a believer who is yielded and surrendered if and when you are not. You can call the same name of Jesus, you can read the same Bible, it’s the realm of the spirit that will tell you the difference. Paul I know, surrendered, Jesus I know, surrendered. Sons of Scheva, who are you?

The law of total surrender stems from then understanding that all that I am and all that I have belong to Him and that I must lose the ability to tell Him no. this are the details that are captured when you are dealing with the subject of surrender. That any believer who has not lost the ability to tell God no, is not truly yielded. You must consciously as an act of your will, lose the ability to say no to Him. Total Obedience! If He says to go left, you go left. If He says to go right, you go right. Trusting that the one who is giving you that instruction is not out to destroy you. So you can even blindly follow Him knowing that the thoughts which I think towards you says the LORD, are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to bring you a future and an expected end. Most believers are not yielded, they come to God negotiating everything at their terms. They want the power of God at their terms. They want victory at their terms, they want a life of dominion at their terms. When you come to Him, you die to self.

MASTER THE ART OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE!

There is a warfare dimension for longevity. The Bible is very clear as to the fact that Satan and his cohorts using the guise of witchcraft, wizardry, necromancy, sorcerery, activities of dark power that you will continually launch attack against the saints. It says, and I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail over it. Jesus recognizes the presence of the gates of hell. Even Jesus is called the head of principalities and powers. The Bible recognizes their existence. It will be child’s play to just ignore it and believe that without engaging the word through intelligence that buy default those arsenals will not come. Even Jesus said Satan cometh to me and did not find anything.

You must know how to take authority over the spirit of death. You must know how to take authority over infirmity. Over destructions, over wasters. This is the assignment of spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare from a biblical standpoint and from a point of victory is necessary for maintaining your longevity. For as long as you live, you remain a candidate for Satan’s attack. The Bible says, now thanks be to God which causes us always to triumph. Paul said, I desired to come to you once and again but Satan hindered us. Satan is still on earth. The Bible has never told us that his ministry has ended. The Bible tells us that victory over him has been settled but the Bible didn’t say he has been prohibited from doing the things that he’s doing. He still runs to and fro like a roaring lion looking for who to devour. May he not find you in the name of Jesus Christ.

For many of us we are not consistent with our prayer. For other we are consistent but from a standpoint of fear. Listen, you don’t pray to make victory happen, you pray to establish victory that is already in Christ. Nobody prays from a standpoint of weakness and wins. So spiritual warfare for the believer in Christ is about establishing. It is not the prayer that produces the victory. The prayer simply transports that which is finished in Christ and stamps it as a reality upon your life.

HONOR TO PARENTS

Honor to parents is one of the Biblical key that control longevity. Eph. 6:1-3 says, that children obey your parents in the LORD. Note that it says in the LORD. It didn’t say children obey your parent anyhow, whatever they said, no. In the LORD. That means the parents are not the final say, the word of God is final say. I am an advocate of honor but we need to be careful because many people have been derailed because of this scripture and because it was misunderstood. Obey your parents in the LORD.
Vs. 2-3 says to honor that your days may be long and that it may be well with thee. Listen! The spirit of rebellion and dishonor will always cut short the life of the victim. Unfortunately our generation unless God helps us, corporately, we are beginning to embrace dishonor, it’s beginning to be fashionable. People say it doesn’t matter it’s my life. But you see there are laws.

There are many people today that it is not well with them because they have secured the curses and the ill speaking of parents. And let me tell you, when it has to do with parents, whether they are born again or not, by reason of being parents or being in a position of parent, there is authority that was given to them. They can speak and the realm of the spirit will obey.

Honor still remains a very potent law that is responsible for longevity. Honor your Father and your Mother. Some of you by reason of this teaching, you may need to call even if it is your physical parents and tell them am sorry. The other day I was angry, I shouted and insulted you. It’s just my foolishness. I accept that I am just a child. Mama, I am sorry. I desire to live long.

DECLARE THE WORD OF GOD BOLDLY!

Psalm 107:2 says, let the redeemed of the LORD say so. Simple! Can I tell you, bold declarations of faith is part of the ways that we activate the prophetic dimension of scripture. In the name of Jesus there shall be no loss. The Bible says the path of the just shines brighter and brighter and you now personalize it and put your name. In the name of Jesus I declare I do not have a better yesterday, my future will always be better than yesterday, I declare by the power of the word. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so.

Numbers 14:28 says say unto them, as truly as I live saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in my ears so will I do for you. As ye have spoken it says, not as you want... as you have spoken. Since all you have been saying is there is nothing about us, this family we will not rise, you do not know that you have been prophesying negative things. In Hebrews 10:23, the Bible says let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering for He is faithful that promised. What has He told you, He said hold it fast through your profession of faith; told you primarily through scripture. Hold on to them!

WHAT IS LOVE?

Genuine love is the absence of self. All of these you only care about yourself; self, the absence of self is what love is. The moment self is involved there is no love. If Jesus was considering Himself, He wouldn’t have died for man. In fact at some point Jesus was speaking, Father if it be your will let this cup pass over me. Nevertheless, it’s not about what my self wants but about your will being done. So if it was about Jesus, He wouldn’t have died. Genuine love, Agappe is not about you necessarily, of course there is a part that has to do with you, but that primarily it’s the absence of self.

To truly understand this definition, look at parents who will starve themselves to ensure their children go to school. They don’t mind living in one room. There are also people in relationship, you look at the man and the lady so concerned about themselves. There are men also that give but their giving only goes to the one they want to marry. And if they don’t have any connection with you they are not givers. The only reason money leaves their pocket is because there is an interest; an investment where they plan to reap. So even their siblings they can’t give to. It is still self. And most times when that relationship doesn’t work you, you end up hearing statements like, “after all I’ve done for you”.

There are many that have met destiny helpers but that you were too self-centered, everything has to be about you, you and you. You entered a man’s house who have been a blessing to you and you can’t look for something to fix in the house. You enter, sit, drink tea and leave the cup there and you’re a young girl, later now you say, aunty, please, what of the money I asked you for? You don’t deserve that money.
What is love? The absence of self.

FIND WHERE IT IS WRITTEN!

The word of God will never profit you until you find where it is written. Have you found where it was written concerning your health? Have you found where it was written concerning your safety? Do not trust any confidence you have if you cannot support it with scripture. What makes you believe that your children are going to be great? I trained them well. You are joking! Go back to scripture. The Bible says, blessed is the man that feareth the LORD; that delighteth greatly in His command. It says, His seed shall be mighty upon earth and the generation of the upright shall be blessed. This is the basis of my confidence. If you believe that even if your child goes from pillar to post, find rest. This word you’ve believe will draw him. One day that child will come for Koinonia and as soon as he’s sitting, the power of God will carry him and as he lands like Paul he will hear a voice.

Listen, believers we activate the prophetic dimensions of scripture by first locating where it is written. Everything about your life has a parallel that is written. So the next time you say I don’t know what is happening around my life, it is difficult for the word of God to help you with that kind of confusion. What is the area? Jesus would meet people and say, what should I do for you? What do you want the word of God to do? Apostle I’ve been trusting God for the fruit of the womb and it looks like the Doctors said this and that and that, I know if I meet you… before you meet me, meet the word! Find 2 or 3 scriptures because in the mouth of two or three a matter is established. Find 2 or 3 that talks about your fruitfulness.

Man of God, what makes you believe ministry will prosper? People like me. The first conference I held I saw several people. Hmmm… you don’t know the heart of man. People like anything that starts for the first time. It takes the word to keep it going.
