The "Educated Agidi Seller" Is Our Guest!

"Agidi" or Corn Jellos, is that very famous starchy Nigerian food made by boiling a paste of fermented maize meal or flour. It is a near staple, across Nigeria.

Now, in the last couple of weeks, one man, MOSES ETENG, a Cross Riverian, in Akwa Ibom State, has drawn thunderous applause from netizens and the larger public for braving the odds and carving a niche for himself with his near seamless making and marketing of 'Agidi'.

The "Educated Agidi Seller", as he strategically refers to himself, is our guest on this Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 8-9am, radio time.

Tune in and be inspired by the story of a man, driven by passion and hardwork to thread a path hardly throdden by young men and women like him.

Sadly, more than 2.7 million young persons live with HIV in Nigeria, just like 41 percent of new HIV cases in Nigeria occur among young persons, medical experts say.

To discuss GEN-N and other HIV-related issues that may arise, programme host, IWARA IWARA, will be joined live on , this Saturday morning, December 3, 2022, by Dr. Daniel Ndukwe, Deputy Director as well as Head of Prevention and Social Behaviour Change Communication, Department of Community Prevention and Care Services, NACA.

He should lead us into how the GEN-N Project will help Nigeria make progress in HIV prevention and treatment for young people.

8-9 am is programme time.

WHAT MANNER OF EMPOWERMENT?

Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Area, Cross River State, Margaret Inde, recently handed out one farming hoe, a cutlass and a tuber of yam each, to a select number of indigenes in the area, as empowerment items, during activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the creation of the LGA as well as celebration of the new yam festival.

We ask, was this empowerment done after a proper needs assessment or does it show a clear absence of depth in positive governance and plans for the people?

As we speak, most of our kids can barely communicate in our indigenous languages without adding a bit of English. The consequences are that many of these indigenous languages are facing extinction while some of them have gone extinct.

What could be responsible for this ugly and unfortunate situation? What can we do to help turn around this situation? These and many more are the issues we will examine on this Saturday morning.
