I don’t think I have ever been this bewildered in my entire life.
So, the crime of Igbos in Lagos is not that they are committing armed-robbery, or kidnapping and ra**ng women, or murdering innocent children; their crime is their alleged “complicity” in the defeat of a supposed “democrat” through the ballot?
I don’t agree with some of the rhetoric of some of “Obidients”, but, for those of you supporting the political victimization and xenophobia towards the Igbos, have you read the constitution? Where is it a crime or an anathema for any Igbo to support a candidate of his or her choice in an election?
By the way, let me remind you. Lagos was the first to meddle into governorship election in Anambra State when Chris Ngige contested against Peter Obi using the platform of the ACN. The same ACN which later metamorphosed into APC “took over”Imo State. I also naively supported Ngige back then as I had no idea he was an extremely cantankerous curmudgeon. I don’t remember the Igbos profiling or targeting the Yorubas for interfering in the state politics of Igbo Land.
But this time around, because an Igbo man soundly defeated an unpopular Yoruba candidate with so many moral questions in Lagos, some of you want to plunge our country into a civil war? And you are justifying xenophobia? Including some of you residing abroad?
I just can’t wrap my head around this.
As for you Ndigbo, we will resolve this. I am still too perplexed to put my thoughts together.
