My words are Spirit and they supply you with a kind of Life. They will stir up within you My Life"

The tree of Life contained the knowledge set that would supply and sustain the Life that the Divine had intended for His newest and best creation, Adam. But His man had to eat of this tree to partake of this all so coveted and excellent Life-form. This is as the "new man" re-introduced to us and unveiled by Christ. What Adam did not see is being re-presented to us once more, this time with a model from which we can take an informed decision. Light has revealed this Life-form to us in Christ. God's all ultimate creation is brought again to another crossroads, will he choose the Original Face or continue in the sweetness of the familiar?
Truthfully, the being that possessed the Serpent in Eden was more knowledgeable than this new being on the scene. The deceiver knew that the Life-tree would produce a being superior to himself in all expression, the Life-tree was the ability to duplicate God. This Life-Form had been the desire of the deceiver but here it was offered to only one being in all creation, the not-so-knowledgeable Adam. It would have been quite the miracle for Adam to escape that temptation, he was dealing with a more knowledgeable being. Temptation looks like this to us sometimes, a very good looking alternative to obedience to Christ. The Death-Tree was good looking, how on earth couldn't it sustain a good Life. Lack of discernment preserves ignorance, it is in this that death is sustained. The Writer of Hebrews calls this knowledge "the fear of death".
There is no substitute for obedience. Obedience is miraculous.
The tree of Life is the Life of Man, it is the sustenance for the Life intended for Man. The tree of Life is a type for man, he must become this tree in order to be sustained in a fruitful Life. The tree of Life is man's express description in the heart of God. The tree of Life is Man.
Being made in the image of God is not enough, there must be knowledge to sustain the Life of God in us. All natures are multiplied and preserved by knowledge..............
