The United Nations Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, has granted Waterlight Save Initiative the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Consultative Status. This approval was confirmed during 18th meeting of the United Nations Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations.
Waterlight Save Initiative describes this as a significant milestone that recognizes the organization's commitment to sustainable water management and global water security.
The ECOSOC Consultative Status provides NGOs with the opportunity to participate in UN deliberations and contribute to its mission of fostering international economic and social progress.
In an interview with Executive Director, Dr. Prince Ero Ibhafidon. With this status, Waterlight Save Initiative is now positioned to play a more prominent role in global policy discussions, advocating for sustainable water practices and innovative solutions to address water scarcity and other sustainable development goals.

Last week, an Army Personnel went to Banex Plaza to buy a new phone from a particular shop, in less than a week the phone developed issues and the army personnel went back to the seller to complain of a bad screen and battery, the seller claimed the warranty doesn't cover the battery and screen.

TV Host Babajide Otitoju has condemned Betta Edu, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs for being power drunk and not following the workings of the stipulated civil service rules.
Otitoju stated that Betta withdrew and diverted funds without Halima Shehu's consent who is the accounting officer and National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme Agency.
Recall that a cross-section of Nigerians, on Monday slammed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Presidency over their long silence regarding the alleged fraud.
Findings by our correspondent at the weekend had revealed that the EFCC, after the January 8 suspension of Edu, followed by a thorough investigation, had submitted an interim to the presidency.
It was learnt that the anti-graft agency had submitted the interim report of its investigation into the allegations against the suspended minister, and recommended that Edu be prosecuted.

The Senate earlier suspended the former Senate Deputy Leader and Chairman, Northern Senators Forum, NSF, Senator Abdul Ningi, PDP, Bauchi Central for three months, asking him not to participate in all the activities of the 10th Senate.
The Senate also resolved that if Senator Ningi writes to apologise during the period, he shall be recalled to resume his legislative activities.
The resolution of the Senate on Tuesday was sequel to a motion by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, APC, Ogun West on the allegations raised by Ningi of N3 trillion Budget Padding in the N28.7trillion 2024 Appropriation Act and that the budget passed by the National Assembly for 2024 fiscal year is N25 trillion while the one being implemented by the Presidency is N28.7 trillion.
