A Letter to Single Moms

Dear Single Mom,

In these tough economic times, where you are responsible for every bill for your child(ren), don’t let anyone invalidate your efforts. If positions were reversed, over 95% of both genders would struggle to keep their heads above water.

I have seen how many insults are thrown at us and accusing us of being the problems of Nigeria. They said all the toxic children in the world are raised by us. We agree but we also know that the majority of the children who do drugs, r**e, pr******te, and do Yahoo are not raised by us. Just concentrate no matter how difficult it is and continue to do your best.

Cut your coat according to your size, and teach your child(ren) contentment nobody deserves to be impressed by you because they are insulting you behind your back while the women suspect that you want to sn**ch their pot-bellied husbands, the men see you as a vulnerable woman to knack or turn to a s***m dump.

Stay calm and be wise when choosing a partner. Avoid getting involved with others’ spouses (unless you're Muslim), and ensure they are not adding to your stress. Let go of any toxic relationships you need a clear and peaceful mind to raise your children in today’s Nigeria.

Stay strong, stay happy, work hard and above all hold on to God.
