Benue State: Ukum LG Chairman Inspects Market, Interacts & Appreciates The People For Standing With Gov. Alia.
The Caretaker Chairman of Ukum Local Government Council, Benue State, Hon. Iorzaa Victor Msuega on Tuesday reportedly paid an unscheduled visit to Kyado market in Mbazun Council ward, Ukum Local Government Area to assess the market operations and identify areas for modern development. Hon. Iorzaa emphasized his administration's commitment to building on the infrastructural development initiatives of Governor Alia.
He expressed satisfaction with the operations at Kyado market, acknowledging that it adheres to the government standards. Hon. Iorzaa took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to the people of Mbaterem for their support of Governor Alia's administration and, by extension, his own administration as the Caretaker Chairman, Ukum Local Government Council.
During interactions with market representatives, Mr. Angulebe expressed appreciation to the Chairman for selecting Kyado market as his first point of call following his assumption of office. In addition, he outlined key areas requiring attention, specifically sanitation and security. Mr. Angulebe highlighted the need for improved sanitation facilities, including the provision of modern toilets, as well as the necessity of fencing the market and installing standardized gates to enhance security.
The Caretaker Chairman was hosted by grassroots politicians from Mbazum ward, representing both the ruling party and the major opposition party, the PDP. The event witnessed notable speeches from key figures, including Barrister Levi Teryima Nguher, a former Local Government Council Chairman and the immediate past commissioner for youth and sports, who highlighted the accomplishments of the Alia administration in various key areas such as salary and pension payments, infrastructural development, and prNathanielnagement of state resources.
During the event, the APC Chairman of Mbazum ward, Hon. Othaniel Sokpo, and the Supervising Councillor Mbaterem expressed the voter strength of the council ward and pledged their unwavering support to the Governor throughout his tenure.
Additionally, they extended their appreciation to Rt. Hon. Paul Biam for his significant contributions, referring to him as the father figure that Ukum politics truly needed. The Chairman was accompanied by the deputy Chairman Hon. Mnena Iusa, the Council Secretary Hon. Jonathan Modi, the local Government Advisor on health, Hon. Ukor Christopher, Supervising Uzor Emmanuel Akpa and other members of Council.
