The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi is a 2023 Nollywood two-part horror film produced by Jay Franklyn Jituboh and Dale Falola. The film tells the story of the popular Madam Koi-Koi myth, which centers a ghost who haunts dormitories, hallways and toilets in boarding schools at night. The two-part film started streaming on Netflix on 31 October 2023. The film stars Ireti Doyle, Martha Ehinome, Nene Aliemeke, Chioma Chukwuka, Deyemi Okanlawon, Omowunmi Dada, Ejiro Onojaife, Chuks Joseph, Kevin T. Golden Globe Awards: Angela Bassett Emerges Best Supporting Actress.
angelabassett makes history as she wins the best supporting actress at Awards for her role as Queen Romanda in .

She now has become the first Actor ever to win a major individual acting award for a Movie based on Marvel Comics.

The award marked her second win, and second nomination at the Globes; her first was the trophy for best actress in a musical or comedy for 1993’s Tina Turner biopic “What’s Love Got to do with it."

Bassett won over her fellow nominees; , , and .

Bassett appreciated the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and Wakanda Forever for giving her the honour in her acceptance speech.

Black Panther Wakanda Forever recently reached a major milestone as it has now crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

The movie is now the 33rd film to ever cross the billion dollar mark and it is the 16th Disney film to reach the milestone.

The 80th Golden Globe Awards honored the best in film and American television of 2022, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

The star studded event was held on January 10, 2023, This comes after it was canceled amid controversy about the lack of diversity among its former voting body in 2022.

AMAA:Family of Peace Anyiam-Osigwe release statement of her passing.

The family of Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, founder of one of Africa’s most distinguished movie awards The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) have confirmed her death in an official statement that was shared via official social media page early Tuesday morning 10th January 2023.

The family asserted that she was an outstanding personality, trailblazer and visionary leader in the film and television industry, noting that she left indelible imprints on the sands of time.

Her family also assured that it would ensure her legacies, including the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Africa Film Academy as well as numerous charities across different religious denominations and other communities, will be continued.

The late Anyiam-Osigwe was a Nigerian filmmaker and Entertainment Executive, who would be remembered as one of those who shaped the face of the new Nollywood, she was also said to have directed the first music video of the hip-hop singing duo, .

The Netflix premiere of the feature film produced by is scheduled for February 12th in Lagos, with as a major partner.

Recall that in 2020, Netflix signed a multi-title deal with EbonyLife which is still underway.

“Blood Sisters”, Netflix’s first Nigerian original TV series in conjunction with EbonyLife Studios was a big win for the streamer with 11 million hours viewed since it debuted in May 2022, This is in contrast to two of EbonyLife's recent releases on Netflix (Elesin Oba and Chief Daddy 2), which have received mixed reactions.

With now set for release, we anticipate how it will be received.

This film offers a completely fresh perspective on the complexities of love and explores the question of whether it is possible to love more than one person and to love them equally. , CEO of EbonyLife Media, has disclosed that she has been experimenting with the idea for this movie for nearly ten years.

The Walt Disney Company, in association with Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) and FilmOne Entertainment, has announced that Nigeria will play host to the official African premiere of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The highly anticipated next installment of the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe and follow up to the 2018 box office sensation Black Panther, will bring the new chapter of the Wakandan kingdom to life in Lagos in early November, ahead of its in-cinema release from Friday 11 November 2022 across Africa.

Chioma Ude, founder of AFRIFF, was reflective on the significance of the African premiere being hosted in Nigeria and having a first-of-its-kind association with the festival in November.
“We are excited and proud to be a part of the premiere of this milestone film here in Africa. This is huge for the continent of Africa as it symbolizes to us further bridging of the gaps between the global film industries,” she said.

Through its association with AFRIFF and FilmOne, the film will play host to film industry stakeholders from across Africa and the world at large, as the continent-wide celebrations kick off.

The big question is : who will take on the mantle of the Black Panther?

A figure is seen in the hero’s suit at the end of the trailer, though it isn’t clarified who is in the costume.

“Wakanda Forever” stars Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba Winston Duke and Angela Basset with newcomers such as Michaela Coel, Dominique Thorne, Alex Nivilani, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta.
