Man sees dead wife with another man in Yenagoa

One Tamuno Douglas from Rivers State caused a lot of traffic today at Opolo-Elebele Road.

Mr Douglas said he came into Yenagoa yesterday for an Interview at a nearby Hospital and decided to move around to see how Yenagoa looks like. He was walking around Opolo Round-about when he sighted his wife that died 3yrs ago in his home town.

According to him, "My wife died of asthma 3yrs ago and had since been buried but am surprised to see her with a man conveying her in a keke, at first I hesitated, then I summoned courage and called her by name, she turned, look at me and disappeared". The man who carried her fainted twice. After he was resuscitated, he narrated his story saying he had lived with her for more than a year. He also said they met in market and he later proposed to her and she accepted.

These are the kind of stories I write when I am hungry.

When you visit people, no matter how close you are to them, be sensitive and don’t do any of these things:

–Don’t walk into their house with your shoe unless they asked you to do so. It’s always more respectful to remove your shoes at the doorstep especially if you didn’t come with a car(if you must enter with your shoe, make sure you use the doormat correctly)

–Don’t sit on the one-sitter sofa. In most houses, the one-sitter Sofa is usually the favorite of the owner of the house. Instead, sit on the 3 sitters' sofa. 3 sitters are for everyone.

–Mind your leg. It’s very annoying to march on the sits of your host. Some of you are used to carelessly putting your foot on whatever chair you are sitting on. This is the most important of them all. Keep your foot on the floor or top of your other leg. If you don’t comport yourself, don’t feel embarrassed if your host tells you to bring down your foot. If everyone marches on the chair that way, you would be the first to tell how dirty your host's sofas are.

–When they offer you bottled water, ask for a cup if you know that you won’t be able to finish the full bottle. If you drank directly from the bottle, ensure you leave with the remaining water. Don’t open, kiss, and leave the rest behind. No one would drink it and your host won’t be happy throwing it away. This one annoys me the most. I hate wasting water and food and it’s not about the money. Some people don’t have good water to drink or food to eat.

–If your host is a bachelor and you have access to his kitchen. Whatever you dirty in the kitchen, clean it up. Don’t mess up his kitchen and leave it behind like that. Who’s going to clean it?

–Whatever you touch, ensure you keep it the way it was. I don’t like my house being disorganized. Everything has its place. Don’t get over-familiar with your host and disrespect his or her house. Make your host want to have you around longer than wish you should leave immediately. This is one of the reasons why I leave alone. I don’t want to come in and see the pillows of my chairs on the floor or the books on my bookshelf turned upside down. At least, not until I get married and have kids.

–Lastly, don’t make videos in people's private houses without their permission. A guy that used to leave with me would wake up early in the morning and start video calls with people I don't know and even capture me on boxers. Ha! He would walk from one end of the house to another with his camera trying to impress his girls. Such madness.

Be sensitive. Be mindful. Be composed. Don’t walk into people’s houses and forget yourself. Feel at home doesn’t mean you should become a masquerade.

This is really painful and disheartening at the same time. I pray for the bereaved families. But if you closely watch this video you’d have thought that someone who has lots of responsibilities would not take precautions.

How did he get on this boat without a life jacket ? Is this even supposed to be allowed? Safety first!

I feel so pained because this would have been avoided by simply wearing your life jacket.

Now the same people you are hustling to feed will now go hustle for themselves to feed.

Let’s always take extra precautions in whatever we do.

Appropriate authorities should investigate this and find a lasting solution to mishaps like this.

They must enforced the no jacket no boarding rules to save more life as the raining season is building up already.

Ever heard of a dead body making women pregnant?

The Cemetery of Père-Lachaise is the largest cemetery in Paris. It gained worldwide fame for the most unusual reasons because of one young man - Victor Noir.

It is believed that if a woman kisses the statue of Victor Noir on the lips, rubs the bulge in his trousers and drops a flower in his hat it will bring her enhanced fertility, and a blissful s*x life. More specifically - if you want to find a beautiful lover, you should kiss Noir`s lips; if you want to get pregnant, you should touch his right foot; and if you want to have twins, you should touch his left foot. According to the myth, a baby will follow soon after and single ladies will find a husband within the year.

Victor Noir’s lips, groin and shoes are shiny, while the rest of his body has the usual greenish tone of oxidized bronze because of how those parts was touched often.
That was why in 2004 a fence was placed around the statue of Noir with a warning sign: “Any damage caused by graffiti or indecent rubbing will be prosecuted.” But this agitated so many women that the fence was soon torn down.

Today, women who have fallen pregnant after visiting Victor Noir`s grave return to the cemetery in gratitude and put photos of their children and other objects in the hat near the statue.
