THE INITIAL FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
This is the fire that comes upon a believer the very moment he gives his life to Christ or has an encounter with Christ. Hmmm, the experience is always awesome that one would like to remain that way perpetually.
But that initial fire is a welcome unto salvation and not a call unto service. Some of us that had that encounter, wanted to conquer the world for Jesus instantly. The burning desire and passion at that moment can makes a man to pull down a mountain. In Luke 8:27-38, the man that was possessed by legion of demons, when he was delivered, the fire came upon him that he wanted to follow Christ, but Christ did not permit him. Such fellow would have become an accident waiting to happen.
That initial fire, is not for service but for purification and consecration. The moment you mistaken it to be for service, then you will be disappointed. You cannot be saved today, and want to save others immediately. You cannot be saved today, and at the same time want to go for evangelism and also to confront infirmity and demons.
You needed milk and not bone to crack.
The initial fire birth hunger, zeal, passion, transformation, and so on. When you are saved, you needed to tarry at the Master's feet and learn.
When Elijah met with Elisha for the first time and hit him with his mantle, he caught that initial fire that he had to go with Elijah immediately. But he still had to learn under Elijah.
We are in the generation that is too quick to show. We want to be on platform. My father in the Lord Evang Sunday Okafor told us a story on when he gave his life to Christ, that initial fire came upon him, he took his Bible and went for evangelism. As he was preaching to some folks, telling them to give their lives to Christ, one of those guys quoted a scripture that, he had to ask the guy, is that one also in the Bible? So he went back home that day and gave himself to the study of the Bible.
Initial fire is good, but utilize it by building yourself in the place
