Outcome of the Joint meeting held by the 8th Students' Senate Council.
*INFORMATION ABOUT THE STATE OF THE UNION.
-Accademic challenge about the state of the union.
-Implementation of the NHIS programmes to be enjoyed by EKSUITES including free registration.
-Provision of bus to the Union with monetary support from the University vice chancellor of which will be customized on it,the Administration name as a success on the part of the Achievement of the Cole led Administration.
-Deliberation on getting funds (SUG DUE)before the commencement of Exams.

-Presentation of the members of the welfare committee,led by the welfare director,the person of Comrade Dotun.
-The 19 men committee of the welfare director was ratified by the house after though scrutinization.

AGENDA 3.
Probing the works done so far by the Tax force committee,a committee which has been ratified at the 6th Joint sittings.
-The activities and duties vested upon the tax force committee was checkmated constitutionally as their lapses and excesses were looked into.
To aid the effective works of the task force committee,the following ideas was suggested and brought up by some of the senators.
*The tax force must take a lucid and appropriate records of all shops visited within or outside campus.
*The cadet should work hand in hand with the task force to avoid abuse of power from both ends.
*The task force should go out for their parades on Fridays being a half day for all students,academic and none academics staffs so as to ensure that many grounds are covered.
*The SUG president should have a meeting with the traders for more enlightenment on their part as touching the activities of the task force towards them.

A MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY IN RESPONSE TO THE FIRE OUTBREAK AND WARNING AGAINST BUSH BURNING.

Greatest Nigeria Students,

Owing to the fire incidents occuring at various hostels within the school environment, we sympathize with our students who have lost one property or the other and it is our prayer that such incident won't occur anymore. Above all, we're grateful we didn't loose any Student.

However, we will like to inform EKSUITES to desist from busy burning at this point. We beseech you all to IMMEDIATELY REPORT to the STUDENT UNION or School Security of any bush burning around your hostel environment. It is important to note that this harmattan season is not friendly to every form of bush burning particularly in areas where students are residents.

Information about bush burning within any hostel environment should be IMMEDIATELY REPORTED to the office of the Welfare Director for proper action so as to prevent another fire outbreak.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS ON ACCOMODATION/HOSTEL MATTERS.

The office of the Welfare Director wishes all students a Happy Resumption and at the same time, would use this medium to address accomodation issues in the school environment

Sequel to the series of complaints that has been received from students on hostel issues in the past week, we urge all EKSUITES to be very cautious of those who parade themselves as 'Hostel Agents' who are in reality 'Scam Agents; The Student Union body in collaboration with the School Management are putting in the effort to ensure these culprits are apprehended but at the same time, we beseech you all to be very cautious in dealing with these agents with respect to Hostel\Accomodation matters.

The Office of the Welfare Director is using this medium to warn students who are also agents but has taken it as a means of extorting their fellow students to desist from such act, as anyone caught will face the consequences of his actions.

We urge you all to immediately report any fraudulent activities with respect to hostel matters to the office of the Welfare Director of Student Union Government so as to ensure sanity in our great citadel of learning.

In line with the University Management directive on overlapping of calendars and its implications on Students' academic development, Management at its Meeting held today, 8th January, 2024 directed that Students concerned who could not write their carry over courses in the just concluded First and Second Semesters due to overlapping of the calendars ,are directed to register with the Deans of their various Faculties on or before 26th January, 2024. While registering with their Deans in their various Faculties, the affected courses are to be indicated.

*_Ratification of the newly appointed financial committee for 2022/2023 academic session was approved by all Senators.

Letter from the chief judge for the ratification of the appointed court clerks.
Miss Omolola Ogunjobi was ratified by the Senate president at 2:35pm while Okunola Eniola was ratified at 2:38pm.

Ratification of the welfare committee was hindered because the number of people around were not up to the numbers expected. Some senators suggested that the people present should be ratified while some said they shouldn't. Therefore, the Senate president cancelled the ratification of the welfare committee pending the time the people concerned will be available (people selected as representative from all faculties)._*

*_Ratification of Public awareness committee (PRO).
Adebayo Temitope Moses was the only one available for the ratification as the PRO committee out of two people that were absent for ratification in the last joint sitting. Some senators suggested that he should be ratified while they ratified the other person that's absent in the next joint sittings, some senators were against this. It was stated that the other person was absent because PTP election was going on during the day of the just concluded joint meeting. The Deputy senate president did an open ballot for everyone to vote whether the person present should be ratified or not. 9 senators voted that he shouldn't be ratified while 10 voted for his ratification. He was ratified by the Senate president as at 3:09pm._*

SUG vice president popularly known as VP1 stated that Agricultural sciences are not doing calculation, which brought about reactions from the senators and they replied her that they are doing calculation. Also, the senators observed that people selected from each faculties are not the same in number. VP 2 chose two individuals from some faculties while only

A MESSAGE OF WARNING AGAINST THE RAUCOUS USE OF FIREWORKS/KNOCKOUTS.

It has been brought to the notice of the Students' Union Government about the unruly use of fireworks in the school environment which is serving as a threat to the well-being of students in their halls of residence,even at this time that they're preparing for their various examinations.

We have received complaints from students that fireworks are being thrown into their hostels,hence had served as a disturbance and threat to their serene environment hindering them from studying in their hostels.

Subject to the above,the Students union Government is sounding an alarm of warning to students and non-students in the school environment who are defaulting in this regard to desist from whatsoever that might hinder the peaceful environment of their fellow students as measures will be put in place to apprehend students who fall under this category.

We beseech the entire students be rest assured of a serene and condusive environment as their welfarism and well-being is our utmost priority and concern.

We introduce a program titled: "Eksu Fitness walk" in our campus.

The goal is to promote health and wellness among students by providing a convenient and fun way to get exercise.
Finding time for exercise can be quite challenging for beginners. However, one activity that is accessible, affordable and provides numerous health benefits is FITNESS WALKING.

This program is beneficial to the physical and mental health; improves overall wellbeing; help to build the spirit of sportsmanship and foster a sense of community on campus.

We present to you: A 3-Saturday' fitness walking program which would be holding on the *11th, 18th and 25th of Nov, 2023 @6:30am.*

Participants would be able to walk at their own pace, and would be encouraged to chat and socialize with other walkers.
So put on your walking shoes.

Outcome of the meeting held by the Students' Senate Council 8th Assembly,House if Shield On 17th October,2023.

State of the Union.

*Safety of the Union: Eradicating the involvement of soldiers in student environment taxing student.

*Extension of the door of revalidation.

*Sorting out the issue of the 5k late registration.

*Aside extension of revalidation, one of the senator on sir said there should be a way the revalidation be made easier for the students.

*Aside the late registration fee,he felt eradication of it won't be easy but a less and affordable price be fixed and there should be a specific time,day, month(s) should start it will be displayed on EKSU Students' portal.

*Another senator suggested the eradication of late registration fee and that a specific time be chosen.

Introduction of Fin.Sec committee chosen by the Fin sec.
These committee were gratified after thorough scrutinization.

Introduction of the public awareness committee led by the PRO.
At first,these committee was not gratified because they weren't chosen according to the constitution which says,they should be their faculty PRO but some were chosen based on having an anonymous
WhatsApp TV.
The conclusion was one PRO per faculty,so the PRO was told to scrap the WhatsApp TV owners.
After through scrutinization,the committee was approved.

Customers relation, being a student that has student customers too it has been kind of difficult because no matter how and what they say you can’t talk back or disrespect them because of your brand and because customers are always right and you wouldn’t want them to get angry with your Brand no matter what the case is.

This is to notify EKSUITES that the University Management has reopened the portal to enable students pay their school fees so that they can adequately participate in the coming revalidation exercise slated for next week, Monday 16 to Friday 20th October, 2023.

During the period ,there will be no lecture of any kind. Any Student, not captured during the period, should consider himself/ herself voluntarily withdraw from the system.

This is to notify the entire students body that the students revalidation exercise begins on MONDAY, 16TH OF OCTOBER, 2023 and ends on FRIDAY, 20TH OF OCTOBER.

Note: There will be no lectures during this period.

2. Up-to-date payment receipts for all approved fees (photocopy)
