ARE YOU PRAYING AWAY YOUR BLESSING
“And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place- Luke 9:12
In verse 1 and 2, Jesus gave the disciples power and authority to preach, heal and cast out devils. In verse 10, they came back tired and hungry. So, Jesus invited them to come to a quiet place with him. One would have thought that Jesus would take them to a restaurant or a hotel: but he took them to a hungry multitude. Why would Jesus take a hungry disciples to a hungry multitude? It’s because He wanted to show them another dimension of his power.
You see, the disciples were used to using the power to preach, heal and cast out devils. But they didn’t know the power could also provide food. And that’s what Jesus wanted to show them.
Every time God wants to show you a new dimension of His power, He brings you before a hungry multitude, a Red Sea, a Goliath that‘s threatening your life and a Pharaoh that won’t let your people go. But just like the disciples, we try to pray these blessings away. They told Jesus, ´send the multitude away....‘ But what they didn’t know was that the multitude was a blessing: because it was what was going to reveal to them a different dimension of God’s power they had not seen before. Selah.
