Early Life and the Spark of Entrepreneurship
Festus Basil grew up in Anambra state in a family of 7 with 4 siblings, and the first child of the Basil family. He was born 6th June 1989 and was never born with a silver spoon as his parents were both government workers. His late father as Civil servant at FIRS and his mother a government college teacher. The hunger for success instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and creativity. Festus's early life was a testament to his innate entrepreneurial spirit. He started his first business venture at the tender age of 15, selling handmade crafts in his neighborhood and importing plantain from Ondo state to sell in his local markets in Anambra state.
Education and the Pursuit of Excellence
Festus's academic journey took him to prestigious institutions, where he honed his skills in computer science, business administration, finance, and leadership. His thirst for knowledge and self-improvement drove him to pursue certifications and attend seminars, sharpening his expertise. Festus Basil had his studies in Anambra state and Enugu state, Lagos state and South Africa. During his high school in Anambra, known as SS Class in Nigeria, Festus Basil was so brilliant and clever that his teachers would always invite him to the teachers staff room to ask him how he got an answer correctly using methods different from what was thought by his teachers. Festus has been a deep thinker, a self trainer and a problem solver from his childhood. Festus Basil believes in Self thought Education, as he taught himself on all computer operations, graphics design, website design, programming and coding. He never attended training or a course but is a professional in the field. Festus Basil built and designed all his business websites and apps, including the graphics works and contents.
Journey Into Entrepreneurship.
Festus Basil also went into the business of electronics during his time in school in Awka, Anambra state, importing tokunbo electronics from Lagos to Anambra where he owned an electronics shop at age 17. He relocated to Lagos after school and changed business line to cosmetics and perfumes, importing from Dubai and selling in Trade Fair Market Ojo where he owned a shop as at the time.
Festus Basil visited Lagos for the first time in the year 2005. He went back to the east for his Academic completion and returned back to Lagos in the year 2008 finally. After some time in the cosmetics business, Festus discovered that the business was not the right business for him, he went into network marketing which eventually crumbled. He then started and registered a company "Bas Wealth World Ltd" in 2009 before traveling to South Africa to gain more knowledge. Bas Wealth World Ltd tried various businesses such as Marketing, Sales, Investments, Publications, Magazines, Blogging and News. The then popular Bizlinks Magazine was a product of Bas Wealth World Ltd.
The Birth of Bas Wealth World Ltd.
In 2009, Festus Basil's vision for Bas Wealth World Ltd. was born. With a clear mission to provide innovative business solutions and create wealth for clients, the company has since become a household name. Under Festus's leadership, Bas Wealth World Ltd. has expanded its operations, diversified its services, and built a team of experts who share his vision.
Festus Basil travelled to South Africa in 2010, where he acquired knowledge in security, safety and automations before returning back to Lagos Nigeria and settled down. Since his return, he has registered and built so many other businesses under the company Bas wealth World Limited.
Bas Wealth World Ltd is a parent company of many other businesses such as Basec Africa, Bas Communications, Bas Mall, Instantbiker, ZoneHQ and BEL Logistic. He launched an online shopping mall named Basmall in the year 2017, ZoneHQ a social media app in 2018, Basec Africa a security safety and automation company still waxing strong and currently number 1 in Nigeria. And lastly, the Instant Biker a motorcycle hailing mobile app but unfortunately, motorcycle transport was banned in Nigeria. Instantbiker was then switched to BEL Logistic.
Entertainment Business and Musical Carrier.
Festus Basil launched a record label Bas Beats Music (BBM) in 2013 which signed himself and 2 other artists. His then popular single hits were My Body, Hot and B***y Bounce. BAS as called by his stage name decided to abandon music for his business after he saw the time and attention his business and music dragged, giving him no other option than to give up one for the other.
