Pregnancy cravings.

Before and after our wedding. I told her we won't be having kids untill after our second anniversary, which she reluctantly obliged.

Initially I knew she would war against it because I've always known my wife as a lover of children. Her love for kids is incomparable.

When we were still courting, she would often say to me "Bro, when we get married, I want us to have twelve kids. Yes, seven girls, five boys. Bro I can't wait"

"You and who?" That has always been my response each time she talks about her fantasies on having children. Besides, who is your bro?

Few years later,

It was indeed a thrilling moment of joy and excitement the day I arrived home from work and she broke the news to me that her doctor confirmed she was two weeks pregnant.

We were both happy, but anyone could tell that she seemed more happier than I was. Her countenance towards everything around the neighborhood was triggered by overwhelming joy.

Before now,

I used to think that pregnant women were always calm and peaceful, but my wife was different. She was always the troublesome one.

"You don get Belle, I no go hear word again na" I always look for ways to bully her back.

Before then, I also thought living with a pregnant woman was easy. But my thoughts were wrong. My wife made me experience the direct opposite of peace.

I would run midnight errands like an errand boy from the room to the kitchen each time she wakes me up and ask for something.

"Baby, wake up. I want to eat boiled yam"

"Baby, wake up. I want to lick salt and palm oil"

"Baby mazi, wake up. I want to loose my hair, it's scratching me" Chinansa how on earth will you want me to loose your hair by 12:00 midnight?

"Baby, I don't want to use NEPA light. Go and switch on the generator and change over from NEPA."

"Mazi, the baby in the womb says he wants to drink yam juice with burnt bread"

This was the situation I was in.
