Chief Jude Ndukwe Responds to FFK’s Rant Against Ndigbo

Sir, you are biting more than you can chew. You have insulted our people enough and I have taken it in with calmness because I don't squeal on people. But enough is enough! As your former media aide, please, don't force me to say things. I have endured your h.ate for Ndigbo which you exhibit rabidly just to serve the agenda of your new sponsors. Enough!

When you were languishing in jail and nobody, not even your own brothers, was willing to stand surety for and bail you, not anyone from the Hausa/Fulani stock did; everyone, incuding your former minister-friends, former governor-friends, your other political associates from the north and your fellow Yoruba, rich and influential, abandoned you to your fate until I, an Igbo man, staked my Abuja property for your bail and stood surety for you to be released from Kuje prison, you didn't see us as what you describe today! That case just got dispensed with in January this year after about 10 years. I staked my property for you for ten good years just so you could enjoy your freedom. Not your brothers, not your sisterrs, not any Yoruba or Hausa/Fulani man/woman. Everyone of them denied you and abandoned you to your fate. You are aware of all our attempts and efforts to get them to come to your aid without any success. Today, you hate my people so much that you spew such bitter h.ate against them? Where is your humanity? Where is your conscience? Even if they pay you billions everyday to spew evil and untrue narratives against the Igbo, why did you forget so soon those who were there for you when you were down to nothing and being humiliated, hounded and harassed by the same people whose bidding you desperately seek to do today just for a plate of porridge?

What IBB said in his book about the 1966 coup not being an Igbo coup was clearly written in black and white, and except you have started experiencing degraded ability to comprehend simple English, or you are just being wickedly mischievous, it is there for saner minds to absorb as appropriate.

This is the very first time I will be responding to you in public and in this manner. It is not in my character, and you know it, which is why you think you can continue to malign our people without an appropriate response from people like me. But you have gone too far and it is time you were challenged. You do not have a monopoly of the pen. Cease from this unfounded malicious and misplaced trajectory of yours. If it was an Igbo coup to serve an Igbo agenda, why did the coupists plan to install Chief Awolowo and not Owelle Azikiwe as president?

Read an excerpt from IBB's book again, this time slowly and with an unbiased mind:

“It should also be remembered that some non-Igbo officers, like Major Adewale Ademoyega, Captain Ganiyu Adeleke, Lts Fola Oyewole, and Olafimihan, took part in the failed coup. Another officer of Igbo extraction, Major John Obienu, crushed the coup. Those who argue that the original intention of the coup plotters was anything but ethnic refer to the fact that the initial purpose of the plotters was to release Chief Obafemi Awolowo from prison immediately after the coup and make him the executive provisional president of Nigeria."

NIGERIAN SENATE SUMMONS BREKETE FAMILY HOST AHMAD ISA OVER BROADCAST CONTROVERSY

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Senate has summoned Ahmad Isa, popularly known as the Ordinary President of Brekete Family, to appear before it on February 27, 2025. The summons is reportedly linked to a recent broadcast of the Brekete Family radio show, in which Senator Natasha spoke about her grievances with Isa.

The Senate’s directive has sparked debate, particularly over its warning that Isa could be deemed a criminal if he fails to comply. Critics argue that such a stance may be an attempt to stifle press freedom and curtail the activities of Brekete Family, a well-known platform for social justice and human rights advocacy in Nigeria.

Isa, whose work has earned him widespread recognition—including an honorary doctorate from the Federal University Lokoja—has built a strong following through his intervention in public grievances and human rights cases. Many Nigerians regard Brekete Family as a voice for the marginalized, providing a platform for citizens to seek redress on issues ranging from governance to social welfare.

The Senate’s move has drawn mixed reactions, with some viewing it as a necessary step to address concerns related to the broadcast, while others see it as an overreach that could undermine media independence and freedom of expression in the country. It remains to be seen how Isa will respond to the summons and what impact this development will have on his widely followed program.

1966 Coup: Ohanaeze seeks apology, ₦10tr compensation from Tinubu

Following the revelation by former military President Gen. Ibrahim Babangida during the launch of his book “A Journey in Service” that the 1966 coup was not an Igbo coup as alleged, the Igbo apex group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Sunday demanded an apology and N10 trillion as compensation from President Bola Tinubu to the Igbo.

The group noted that the coup unleashed disastrous repercussions on the Igbo people, among other factors, which ultimately led to the cataclysmic horrors of the Biafra War.

In a statement obtained by The Guardian in Abakaliki, the Deputy National President of the Ohanaeze faction, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, noted that the apology and compensation had become necessary due to the staggering loss of life, with approximately three million Igbo—predominantly innocent women and children—slaughtered during the conflict, an event that continues to reverberate through the collective consciousness of the Igbo people.

He stated that the revelations would compel Nigerians to confront the stark injustices perpetrated against the Igbo people, insisting that President Tinubu must recognise this moment as an opportunity to extend a public and unequivocal apology on behalf of previous military regimes, particularly General Yakubu Gowon’s administration.
He added that such an apology was long overdue for the myriad wrongdoings inflicted upon the Igbo nation, which continue even decades after the conclusion of the Biafra War.

He noted that the demand for ten trillion naira in reparations remained steadfast, stressing that the figure was not arbitrary but a symbolic recognition of the indelible losses the Igbo people had endured.

He further stated that the Igbo people extended forgiveness to General Babangida and all others involved in the atrocities committed during the Biafra conflict, stressing that the confessions brought forth by Babangida should warrant accountability for those who participated in the tragic events that decimated the Igbo populace.

The statement read: “The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, extends its profound appreciation to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) for his remarkable courage in officially declaring that the January 1966 coup was unequivocally not an Igbo coup.

“This pivotal acknowledgement is not merely a correction of historical nomenclature but a significant moment in our collective pursuit of justice and reconciliation, signalling a potential end to the historical vindictiveness and cruelty that have been pervasive in Federal Government policies towards the Igbo Nation.

“His forthright exemption of the Igbo from the egregious classification as enemies of the Northern region in the aftermath of the coup is both timely and necessary, even if it arrives decades later.

“The mislabeling of the January 1966 coup has unleashed disastrous repercussions upon the Igbo people, most tragically culminating in the July 1966 counter-coup, which decimated a military Head of State of Igbo descent.

“The staggering loss of life, with approximately three million Igbos—predominantly innocent women and children—slaughtered during this conflict, continues to reverberate through our collective consciousness.
“Furthermore, even in the post-Biafra era, the Igbo Nation continues to grapple with systemic injustices, evidenced by acute marginalisation that leaves us with the smallest representation of states within the Nigerian federation.

“The political conspiracies designed to deny the Igbo the rights to ascend to the highest office in the land—Nigeria’s Presidency—the chronic economic neglect symbolised by the closure of the Calabar seaport, the inoperative state of several ports in Igbo land, the implementation of a discriminatory quota system, and the conspicuous absence of functional international airports in the Southeast starkly illustrate the Federal Government’s long-standing policy of exclusion.

“In light of these egregious injustices and the deliberate neglect exhibited by successive administrations, Ohanaeze Ndigbo hereby restates its demands, as articulated previously during the Justice Oputa-led Judicial Commission for the Investigation of Human Rights Violations Panel in 1999.

“We assert that the Nigerian Federal Government, under General Yakubu Gowon, conducted indiscriminate and unjustified bombardments in Igbo territory during the Nigeria-Biafra War, resulting in overwhelming loss of life. These historical realities establish an irrefutable case for the reparations we seek.

“The present Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must recognise this moment as an opportunity to extend a public and unequivocal apology on behalf of previous military regimes. Our demand for ten trillion naira in reparations remains steadfast.

“This figure is not arbitrary but a symbolic recognition of the indelible losses the Igbo people have endured. The time has come for true acknowledgement of these historical wrongs, which can only be rectified through both reparations and sincere apologies.”

PRESS RELEASE
INTERNAL SECURITY: POLICE RAIDS KIDNAPPERS' DEN, NEUTRALIZES KIDNAPPERS.

As Operatives Rescue Mrs Odumosu, Recover Ransom.

In a commendable display of teamwork and swift action, police operatives attached to the Ogun State Command have successfully neutralized the kidnappers of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of Retired Assistant-Inspector General, AIG Hakeem Odumosu, and rescued her unharmed.

On January 16, 2025, at approximately 9:45 PM, four masked gunmen forcibly abducted Mrs. Odumosu from her Lexus Jeep outside her residence in Arepo, Ogun State. The abduction sparked an immediate response from the anti-kidnapping unit of the Ogun State Police Command, who commenced a thorough investigation and targeted pursuit of the kidnappers.

With the support of the Force Headquarters technical intelligence platforms, the Ogun State police operatives engaged in extensive surveillance of the creeks surrounding Arepo, gathering crucial information to track down the assailants. Their efforts culminated in a raid on January 23, 2025, at around 06:45 AM. The intelligence-led operation took the police to a creek in the swampy area of Ikorodu where the kidnappers were reportedly planning their next attack.

Upon arrival, the operatives encountered the kidnappers, who opened fire. In the ensuing confrontation, two of the gunmen were neutralized, while four others fled the scene, abandoning their operational weapons. The victim, Mrs Odumosu was rescued within the swampy creeks during the operation, unharmed. She is currently undergoing medical evaluation as a precautionary measure and has since been reunited with her family. The police also recovered 4 Ak-47 rifles, 3 locally made single barrel rifles, ammunition of various calibers, and the sum of N10,000,000 ransom previously demanded by the kidnappers, further ensuring that justice is served. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., has commended the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, and his operatives for their displayed gallantry in this successful operation.

This operation exemplifies the dedication and resilience of our Police officers. The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its mission to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes, providing safety and security to all citizens.

A 35-year-old businesswoman, identified as Edith Nwachukwu, has been arrested by the police in Imo State for battering her 13-year-old house help, Kelechi Ejieke.

The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday evening, January 21, 2025, by operatives of the Owerri Urban Divisional Police Headquarters after the minor was rescued from her at the popular Relief Market in Owerri.

It was gathered that the suspect had accused the minor of stealing her money.

An Imo-based journalist, Chidiebube Okeoma, who is the founder of the Stand for Humanity Foundation, along with some traders, alerted the police when informed about the situation. The police promptly intervened, rescuing the minor and arresting the suspect.

According to Okeoma, some traders forcefully rescued the girl from the businesswoman, who had inflicted injuries on the girl and was reportedly about to procure ten more canes to use on her.

He revealed that operatives of the Owerri Urban Divisional Police Headquarters had taken the girl to a hospital in Owerri for treatment, as her injuries were severe.

“When I was informed, I quickly alerted the DPO. Thanks to some traders who rescued the minor and also involved the police. At the police station, the woman, who later pleaded for mercy, alleged that her house help had stolen her money, an accusation the girl denied,” he said.

“The woman said she was angry, which is why she battered the minor. The girl revealed she is from Amaeke Adam in Abia State.”
