The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Friday maintained that corruption is very dominant in the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government. PDP stated this in reaction to a statement credited to Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation. Amaechi had said corruption will return to the country if President Muhammadu Buhari is voted out in 2019. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Adamawa State have intercepted about 1,316 tonnes of tramadol believed to be a supply for the Boko Haram terrorists. NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Yakubu Kibo, revealed this to reporters on Friday in Yola, the state capital in North-east Nigeria. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo State has announced Monday 16th February, 2018 as the date for the conduct of Local Government and Ward primaries of the party ahead of the Saturday May 12, 2018 election. Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has commended the National Assembly for reordering of 2019 general elections. The National Assembly had recently reordered elections through the amendment of the Electoral Act. Jonathan said the the amendment of the Electoral Act would help in the election of quality persons into various positions. A final year student was on Friday killed by a mysterious fire that razed down a students’ hostel at the Federal Government College, Daura in Katsina State. The Daura Zonal Fire Officer, Malam Isyaku Manir, who confirmed the incident said the fire, which started at 10.15am went on for three hours and reduced the entire structure to ashes.
