Commercial Bus Plunges Into River Over Ravaging Flood In Delta
A commercial bus plying the Ughelli/Port Harcourt section of the East-West Road has plunged into a river at Umeh Junction in Delta State.
The bus was said to be returning from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when the ravaging flood forced the driver of the vehicle to lose control.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday (today) around 5pm.
No life was loss in the incident but some passengers were reportedly injured.
The ravaging flood has since taken over both section of the Ughelli/Port Harcourt Road while the popular Umeh Bridge in Isoko South LGA of Delta State is at the verge of collapsing.

Residents have risked their lives to save the popular Umeh Bridge from collapsing over ravaging flood in Umeh Kingdom of Isoko South LGA of Delta State.
Amidst the ravaging flood, villagers led by Umeh President-General, Pastor Simon Emamowho, mobilised and bought sand bags to fill the failing portions.
Both sections of the expansion joints of the bridge are already caving in from below from both ends
Except the Delta State Government rush to prevent the imminent collapse of the bridge by supporting efforts of the residents, the bridge will collapse in no time.
The bridge is the only access road connecting Umeh Kingdom to other parts of Delta State.
