So based on this video the first thing u will notice here is over stock this fishes here just by sight u can see they are more than double the recommended no for this pond for some of us who don't know this tank is 1000 liter white tank and for best results don't stock more than 50 here.

Now this has led to the pond water been dirty I can tell you that from this video this will have odour and reason is they are over stocked and this will increase their waste in the pond , solution reduce their no

Again because of this over stocking the issue of cannibalism here will be witnessed always yes catfishes are cannibalistic in nature but if you feed them very well with good spacing u have reduced that to the least

So this fishes will have very serious problems if the stock is not reduced

Thanks to all who responded to this now let's look at some of our comments and learn

For those that said it's a treatment procedure yes if you add any treatment with low water it will work faster but don't allow the fishes to over stay before it leads to multiple deaths .
Fishes like this don't need any treatment simply change their water and maintain 3ft water high they will be fine .

If you are applying salt solution here please be extra careful too much salt here is very dangerous because all the fishes will die .

Then some said the fishes are already stressed that's why the low water that's not correct if the fishes are already stressed that's why the need enough water so they can go down and settle and running into other fishes or seeing shadow movement up .

So said it maybe due to machine spoiling please I have said it before if you want to change water make sure your source of refill is ready if your fishes die and you give excuses that pumping machine spoilt truth is that I will loose your investment and nobody will listen to the funny excuse is just like going to write your promotional exam and then I forgot your pen

Generally the video I used is to show us that no matter the excuse low water in the pond has no value for your fishes even if your doing treatment this is too low .

Always maintain your water level at 3ft high and u will not see sickness in the pond once u did not overstock and don't pour rubbish in the name of feed in the pond .

Yes am happy most of us responded to this video, truthfully the water in this earthen pond is very dirty but will not affect this fishes reason is that the soil will naturally purify the water at night but the colour will remain constant now this makes many farmers I earthen pond lazy because they know that at this pond colour the fishes may not die but here is the problem

Even though the fishes may not die but occasionally you will always see 1 or 2 deaths and may not know that same water is the reason remember everyday the fish releases it's waste in the water and it gets bigger and bigger for the earth to purify

Now another thing is that a catfish farmer whose pond is not as dirty as this will have fr more better result than this and sometimes this makes some farmers who are lazy in management of their farm believe that others have something they use they don't tell people.

Here are the problems

This water is very low am sure this is less than 2ft high at worst let it go up to 3ft high

Then from the colour of the water it's clear it's dirty and lacks enough oxygen hence their standing position had it been we have a clean water this may not be the case if they are just fed.

For best results adopt every 2 days water changing approach don't just scatter feed, use spot feeding to reduce excess waste that dirty the water fast and make sure to keep water level at 3ft high, depending on the no in the pond consider sorting for best result

Don't Use this Bath for CATFISH,

I understand that many people are interested in Catfish farming but doing it the wrong way is just a complete waste of time.

This bath cannot even hold 10 big fishes reason it's too narrow and water level here will not be more than 1 ft which will increase the stress level on any fish.

Instead of starting here and wasting the scarce resources why not keep the money plan and get something bigger what many people who use don't consider is that they look at the length but don't consider the depth and the width.

Don't use this but its a choice if you wish to try .

Using RED oil in the pond

So I asked about the benefits so we can all learn, thank you for your response but let me explain this RED oil has no effect in your pond in fact to much of it will reduce the oxygen level in your water and when it's not much it will dirty your water so either way you don't need to risk the health of your catfish or waste money now let me explain why people who understand it use it.

It's used to transport small fishes like fi*****ng, juvenile e.t.c or very big fishes after and the reason is that during this movement fishes are packed I tight container so a little addition of red oil aids this akin to be more slimy and reduce injuries from body contacts of one another, this is the main reason.

But when they are in a big space that's the ponds pls don't waste your money but let's believe it works what quantity do you think someone with 5000 fishes in a 50*100*4ft deep that's a plot of land use...., well your guess is as good as mine
