China To Limit Teenager's Usage Of Smartphone To Two Hours A Day

China's internet regulatory body in a bid to prevent the addiction of teenagers to mobile phones will limit screen time to a maximum of just two hours a day.

The Cyberspace Administration of China said it wanted to mandate so-called 'minor mode programmes' for smart devices that would ban under-18 users from accessing the internet between 10 pm to 6 am, Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

CAC also said aged 16 to 18 will be limited to two hours of screen time a day, under 16 would get just one hour per day and those under eight would get just eight minutes to use devices.

The proposed reforms would give parents the option to opt out of the limits.

Chinese tech firm's shares in Hong Kong largely fell after the CAC published its proposals, which it said were open to public feedback until early September.

A lawyer at the Shanghai Shenlun law firm, Xia Hailong, said the rules would be a headache for internet companies and warned that Chinese internet companies may simply ban users under 18 from using their services altogether.

Shenlun said, "A lot of effort and additional costs to properly implement these new regulatory requirements."

ByteDance, which owns and runs TikTok, already bans teens from spending more than 40 minutes a day on the app.

This isn't the first time Chinese authorities have cracked down on how teenagers spend their free time.

INEC contracted Amazon Web Service (AWS) to build a website and provide electronic materials for the 2023 General Elections.
AWS proceeded to build the servers and provide the BVAS machines that INEC used to conduct the elections.
All the servers used for the General Elections were installed at the INEC HEADQUARTERS in Abuja by AWS, which was also responsible for protecting those servers from hackers and internet fraudsters.

Amazon, from their World Headquarters in the US, monitors every action performed on those Amazon-installed servers. They have a comprehensive record of who logs into the server, their activities while logged in, and when they log out.

Amazon has clear records of every hidden or secret action taken with those servers, knowing everything from A to Z.
Amazon is aware of all the INEC manipulations, 'wuruwuru' tactics, and their false stories.

Unfortunately for INEC, they focused solely on lying to Nigerians to justify the money they received from Tinubu, without considering the consequences. They didn't care about the aftermath; they thought everything would always proceed as usual. That's why they audaciously said, "go to court" with their satanic confidence.

In his characteristic manner, the former Minister of Information, Mr. Lai Mohammed, traveled to the US shortly after Tinubu was declared the winner and told the world that "hackers had breached INEC's server, which caused the interruption in the transmission of the Presidential results." What a shameless liar! This was an indirect way of implicating AWS before the international community. It didn't end there; INEC defended itself at home by abandoning Lai Mohammed's explanation and stating that they experienced "technical glitches" with their servers on election day, which prevented real-time uploading of the Presidential election results as promised.

Mr. Peter Obi, His Excellency, who was advised to "go to court," subpoenaed AWS to appear before the PET and testify about how their servers suddenly developed "glitches" only at the point of transmitting the Presidential election results, while it did not affect the National Assembly election results conducted simultaneously. Out of anger towards the Nigerian Government's attempt through INEC to tarnish their global reputation, AWS appeared at the PET with 33 reports from 6 regions of the world where they provide server services, proving to the entire world that there was nothing wrong with INEC's servers before, during, and after the elections. They demonstrated that INEC officials intentionally switched off or disconnected those servers themselves, for reasons known only to them, and not because the servers had any technical issues, as deceitfully claimed by INEC.

Both INEC and APC never anticipated this. They never believed His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, could go that far. Regrettably and shamefully, their lawyers' best defense was to continuously object, even in the face of clear evidence. However, AWS's evidence was admitted in court despite their objections.

AWS's appearance at the PET with their evidence was one of the highlights of the PET hearing.

His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, has done his part in exposing the fraud that INEC committed against Nigeria and Nigerians to the entire world. Now, it is up to the judges to either establish their names in gold or be remembered as men without honor. In any case, the Nigerian judiciary is on trial.

South Sudan U17 has been disqualified from the ongoing AFCON U17 tournament in Algeria after 5 of their players failed the CAF IMR test organized to ensure no age cheating in the age-limit competition.

Enugu discharges 13 COVID-19 patients

The Enugu State Government has announced the discharge of 13 new COVID-19 patients, bringing the total number of discharged cases to 63.

The state Commissioner for Health, Ikechukwu Obi, announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Enugu.

Obi stated that the health ministry discharged the 13 patients after treatment as they had tested negative for the virus.

He noted that there was no new laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 case in the state presently.

BREAKING: Acting APC chairman, Gaidom, nullifies Obaseki’s disqualification


The Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, Victor Giadom, on Wednesday, nullified the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the party’s governorship election in Edo State.

Gaidom said this at a media briefing at the party’s National Secretariat, where he also announced himself as the new Acting National Chairman of the party.

He said the reports of the APC’s screening and appeal committees were nullified because “Oshiomhole acted as a judge in his own case.”

APC crisis: Ajimobi sues for peace, says NEC meeting holds soon


The Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (South), Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has called on all stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress to continue to observe peace.

Ajimobi was quoted to have said this on Tuesday night after the APC NWC named him acting National Chairman.

He was named the acting national chairman following an Appeal Court ruling upholding the suspension of the substantive Chairman, Adams Oshiomole.

Ajimobi’s call was contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Bolaji Tunji, and made available to newsmen in Abuja, on Wednesday.

The statement read in part, “Senator Ajimobi took over the leadership of the party in line with Section 14 subsection 3 of the APC constitution that states that, “the Deputy National Chairman shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone”.

It further quoted the acting national chairman as saying a meeting of the National Executive Council would “be called soon” to resolve all contentious issues.

Ajimobi said, “We should therefore let peace continue to reign until we call the NEC meeting and take a position on the way forward.”
