ROUNDER/IMEKO ROAD: LIES BEFOGGING THE TRUTH

22nd March, 2021
Oluwaseunfunmi MacLawrence-Odu'nowo

Like a Yorùbá proverb says, a person who lies shall probably steal. One is perturbed by the way and manner with which the OGSG deceives unsuspecting residents of Ogun State with inferior promises.

Recall that it was widely given publicity recently that the Rounder/Imeko Road was near completion. It is a shame that the government is not speaking the truth. Governance is expected to be continum, as it is a major way at which dividend of democracy will be circulated evenly.

It is regrettably lugubrious to find out that the reported near completion of the said Road is nothing but a fluke and facade, as OGSG only tarred a portion of a single lane in Adehun axis between Iyana Cele and stopped at Opara Estate first gate in Adehun. Infact, the portion tarred has no significance nor impact on the poor state of the road.

A responsible government will not deceive electorates. The Rounder/Imeko Road is a major route that connects Nigeria with Benin Republic. The refusal of the government to construct this road has cost business men and women a lot due to difficulty encountered always in transporting their goods.

Residents of the area are also not left out due to the gridlock they encounter going to and returning from their individual places of work plying the road. It is also worthy of note that students studying in schools in the vicinity cannot quantify the stress they go through getting to their study centres.

On a several basis, Governor Dapo Abiodun led government had critised its' predecessor for a below average performance, while a popular cliché states that, he who must come to equity should do so with clean hands, OGSG must also be reminded that, those who lives in a glass house must not throw stones and if you have a glass job, you should watch your mouth. OGSG must rise to its' responsibilities Nd stop its' shadow chasing.

As the rainy season draws nearer, residents of Lafenwa, Ogun Radio, Mile 2, Adehun and Rounder shall go through another round of pain, stress, loss and hardship due to the bad nature of the Road. OGSG should also note that Electorates never voted for failure, hence, the government must rise to its' responsibilities.

God bless Ogun State!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!

Imagine for a minute that you are a trained soldier.

In fact, a Lieutenant.

You have a wife and two kids.

Now, imagine that during the quarterly rotation, you were sent to Bornu to fight insurgence (Boko Haram)

On this fateful day, as you were moving with your platoon.

There was an ambush.

Gun fire ensued.

You shot with all you've got.
You know that you have a slim chance of surviving the attack.

As you were running out of ammo, you called john, your buddy, for fresh supply.

No response.

You glanced and saw John's head split into two halves.
By your left is Barry, his torso turn and one of his arm lying 10 ft away.

With nothing to fight with, you made a run for it and took a deep dive into the abondoned crater while bullets were getting fired at you.

You passed out

When you woke, you saw yourself in the hospital.

The doctor came in.
"Officer, you are awake, we did an emergency surgery"
"We had to amputate you"

We are sorry.

You then asked.

'What of my team mates ?"

"Well, you lost 18 men and 2 survivors", the doctor replied. "You and Barry.

Barry is still in intensive care."

Now, 3 months later, at the defence headquarters.

Your commanding officer, General Gida told you.
"You are back, lieutenant "

" Good news!
We rounded up all the terrorist that attacked your platoon after in another battle confrontation."

They are now in rehabilitation center.

"Can I see them?" you asked

'Sure!'

You got wheeled to the center.

They opened the door.

And yes.

' There they are !'

Across the hall,
Young men in white flowing gowns were eating fried and Jellof rice with multiple chicken parts.
Some were drinking wine.

Laughter filled the air.
Having a ball.

You were told they will soon be taken abroad on scholarship.

Government sponsored.

As you were getting back to the generals office.

Just outisde the defence headquarters gate, you saw the wives of your team, now widowed, as they agitate with high voices and placards.

"We have been abandoned!"
"Pay us our husbands benefits!"
"We are hungry"

Just imagine all that.

------

It is the reality of a Nigerian Soldier in the corridor of terrorism.

PDP Mocks APC For Dissolving Structures

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said the dissolution of the national, state, local government and ward committees of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is an indication that the ruling party has fizzled out of the nation’s political firmament.

The party in a statement signed by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the APC “being overburdened by the weight of failure, humongous corruption as well as the plagues of economic recession, violence, killings and hardship it has brought to our people, forcefully exited itself from the nation’s political firmament by dissolving all its national, zonal and state structures.”

The PDP added that as a result of the development, “December 8, 2020 has gone into the history of our nation as liberation day, especially given the spontaneous jubilation by Nigerians over this step towards political oblivion by a political party that has brought so much pain on them.

“Now that the APC has become defunct, the PDP invites the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to officially de-register the APC and recall its certificate of registration, given that it no longer has operational structures as required by law.”

According to the statement, “INEC should immediately declare the seat of all lawmakers elected on the platform of APC at the federal and state levels vacant and commence the process of bye-election to fill the seats, as required by law.

“Furthermore, government agencies, civil society organizations, as well as the international community, should immediately gazette the APC as a defunct political organization in our country.

“Nevertheless, the PDP invites all leaders of the APC to get ready to answer Nigerians for their misdeeds, and not to think they can get away with their atrocities by forming or joining another political party.”

Paternity Scandal: Ayomikun, Tope Alabi's First Daughter Claimed By Another Man

Popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi’s daughter, Ayomikun, has come out to state that the only father she knows is her mother’s husband, Soji Alabi.

This is following the recent paternity scandal involving the gospel singer and a certain Mayegun Olaoye.

Based on online reports, Olaoye, claimed to be Ayomikun’s father, adding that Tope Alabi had blocked every avenue for him to know his biological daughter in the past 22 years..

Reacting to the news, Ayomikun Alabi, the young lady in the midst of the controversy, in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH, stated that she was not surprised about the development as her mother had since informed her about the man.

Ayomikun, however, emphasized that the only father that she has is Mr Soji Alabi, who has been married to her mother for over two decades and has been taking care of them.

“I know and will always know that my father is Soji Alabi. I do not know any other person and I have never met any other man. I cannot blatantly deny him because I have heard about him, but I have never had anything to do with this man before.

She added, “My mother never blocked any avenue for us to see. My mother even tried for me to have a relationship with him. I remember when I was about 15 years old, she used to tell me to try and talk about him. Even when we discuss marriage, they tell me that they would want to inform him.

“They always tell me all these things about him but he is the one that never tried to reach out to me. I mean that he has never ever tried to. We have never had absolutely any conversation with this man. I mean I have had absolutely no contact with this man; none whatsoever.

“I am very grateful to God for the kind of mother and father that I have. They have been the best people and after God, my parents are next in my life,” the singer’s daughter stressed.

Olaoye had expressed his grudge with Tope Alabi for changing his biological daughter’s surname; but in her conversation with The PUNCH, Ayomikun seemed perplexed that a man who never reached out to her in her 22 years of existence would expect her to bear his surname.

“I cannot bear his surname. How can I bear the surname of someone that I have never met? There is no sense in that. I do not even know his surname. How can I bear the name of someone I have never met?

She said, “God knows my real father and everyone knows who my real father is. I did not know this man when I was in my crèche, daycare, primary, secondary or during my university days. I graduated and did not get a congratulatory message; absolutely nothing from him.

“So, there is no much story to tell. It is just a story about an irresponsible father and he is trying to cut every relationship he could ever build with his so-called daughter. I genuinely do not know why he is coming out after 22 years.

Ayomikun continued, “I do not know what he is trying to do and I do not see the point of what he is doing. What I know is that with what he has done, he does not care about my feelings, neither did he put it into consideration. This makes it obvious that he is not that good of a father. For him to have gone out to social media to claim me, I think he has completely lost the chance of any reconciliation at any point in time; that was the last straw.”

Also a sonorous singer like her mother, Ayomikun stated that the only way she can give Olaoye a listening ear is if they meet in court and there is a judgment to that effect.

She said, “If the man wants to reach out to me to patch things up, it would be in court. I do not think that I want to patch things up but I know that I will definitely meet him in court if he ever wants to talk. It cannot be a civil matter because he did not make it a civil matter when he went to social media to talk.”

Despite the occurrence, she said her family is fine and everything is normal as they were not shocked by Olaoye’s actions.

“I have spoken to my mother about it and we are all fine. It was not something that shocked us. He is not blackmailing the family but he is an example of a very terrible father. A father that is not even trying to make it up to someone but trying to get back to someone else,” Ayomikun said.

Minister Of Humanitarian Affairs, Farouq Weeps As Communication Minister, Pantami, 'Disgraces' Her At Fec Meeting
Humanitarian Affairs Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq

Sadiya Umar Farouq, Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, has been involved in an altercation with a fellow minister, a report by SaharaReporters has shown.

Farouq was on Wednesday involved in a heated argument with her Communications and Digital Economy colleague, Isa Ali Pantami, during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The disagreement between the two ministers, according to a top source, has further confirmed insinuations that there was division among top aides of President Muhammadu Buhari.

SaharaReporters gathered that trouble started after Pantami presented his ministry’s planned activities for approval, which included the mapping and registration of Internally Displaced Persons across the country.

Immediately after the Communication Minister’s submission, a furious Farouq raised her hand to speak and exoress objection to the approval for such activities pending review and approval from her ministry.

It was learnt that the President was inclined to agree with Sadia, considering the supervisory role of Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs on IDPs but Pantami strongly objected to the opposition of Farouq, reminding her of the statutory power and role of the National Identity Management Commision in capturing and registering citizens, IDP or not.

The Communication’s Minister broke the camels back when he flaunted a letter written by his ministry to Farouq’s office on October 15, 2020 with no response a month after.

It was at this point that the President went ahead and approved the memo from Pantami, granting the go ahead from NIMC to capture the IDPs.

SaharaReporters gathered that Farouq, who had always used her closeness to President Buhari to intimidate, manipulate and harass her fellow ministers was humbled.

A source said the minister openly wept immediately after the meeting, accusing Pantami of disgracing her before the President and other colleagues.

“Farouq is very afraid, she has this fear that the capturing is capable of exposing the corruption usually perpetrated in the name of IDPs,” the source said.

Unusual: Man Marries Sexdoll In Exotic Wedding Ceremony

A Kazakhstani bodybuilder has in a jaw-dropping ceremony, celebrated his 18months marriage anniversary to a s*x doll.

Yuri Tolochko married his s*x doll fiancée, Margo in a traditional ceremony in 2019. The ceremony was graced by dozens of happy guests. He explained that he first met his s*x doll fiancée in a nightclub, and the pair got married shortly after the infamous outbreak of the coronavirus.

Yuri told reporters that their marriage ceremony was delayed twice after he was attacked during a transgender rally in the Kazakh city Almaty on October 31. He noted that the gruesome attack left him with a concussion and a broken nose. In footage of their wedding ceremony, Yuri can be seen smartly dressed in a black dinner suit and a bow tie, basking in smiles, as he dances with his stunning bride in her lacy white gown.

Sharing footage of the unusual celebration on Instagram, the bodybuilder wrote ‘It’s happened. To be continued.’ According to Yuri, his lover Margo has a fiery personality, ‘she swears but there is a tender soul inside.’ In a post of the unconventional pair working out together in the gym, Mr. Tolochko wrote ‘Couples need to talk less and connect more. With time and experience, Margo and I realized that it takes more than words to have a conversation. Your partner sure deserves the best, but they have to do their part.’

The bodybuilder identifies as a pans*xual and can fall in love with a ‘character, an image, a soul, just a person’. Talking about his s*xual orientation, he explains that he loves B**M- Bo***ge and Discipline, Domination and Submission, Sa**sm and Masochism.

‘I like the process of s*x itself. And gender, s*xual orientation are not particularly important here. Our story turns me on much more than s*x itself. I love being tortured; I can endure a lot of pain. I love to dominate too. Margo is capable of what other people are not capable of.’

Breaking: CNN retracts initial report Soldiers killed 38 at Lekki tollgate during protest

The Cable News Network has retracted its initial report, which said operatives of the Nigerian Army killed 38 persons at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos State on October 20, 2020.

The international broadcaster did this a double retraction on its Twitter handle it titled: “Clarification.”

In the “Clarification,” CNN said it did not attribute the death toll to Amnesty International and also failed to say in the report that the 38 persons killed were not just at the Lekki tollgate but across the country during the protest.

It tweeted: “Clarification: This tweet from October 23 did not attribute the death toll from protests in Nigeria to Amnesty International. The tweet also did not make it clear that the death toll was for protests across the country.”

But it did both in its tweets and reports anchored by Stephanie Busari on the incident as attached to this report.

Though the first paragraph of the amended story on the incident on October 22, 2020 said the reported 38 deaths on October 20, 2020 was nationwide, what it tweeted on October 23, 2020 was that the military did the killing that day.

In that same first paragraph of the story, the international broadcaster attributed its source of death of 56 persons to Amnesty International, a position it then retreated in the early hours of Friday.

“At least 56 people have died across Nigeria since the protests began on October 8, with 38 killed across the country on Tuesday alone, according to human rights group Amnesty International.”

Man Stabs Wife To Death For Refusing To Register Her New Car In His Name (Photos)

November 27, 2020

A Nigerian man has been accused of stabbing his wife to death for refusing to register her new car in his name.

Facebook user, Ngozi Ikebuaso alleged that the man carried out the act with the help of his 16-year-old nephew. It was learnt that the deceased refused registering the car in the man’s name, on grounds of him not paying her bride price even though they’ve been co-habiting for 8 years.

Ngozi Ikebuaso wrote on Facebook;

“A man with the help of his 16 years old nephew stabbed his wife to death because she refused to use his name in her new bought car documents. The woman said she can’t use his name on the documents because the said man never paid her pride price ( they are just leave in lovers. Di na nwuye ndi Lagos)and have not married her after living together for 8 years. They locked her in immediately she came back from shop and killed her.
