Kuje Prison Att@ck: Late Gospel Singer Osinachi’s husband reportedly among those who escaped

Late gospel singer, Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, was one of those who escaped during last Tuesday’s terr@rist att@ck on the Kuje Medium Security Correctional Centre in Abuja.

Recall that the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), has said a total 879 inmates escaped from the facility during the night att@ck.

According to SaharaReporters, multiple security sources on Tuesday, July 12, confirmed that the husband of the late gospel singer was among the escaped inmates.

“During our roll call yesterday, we discovered that the husband of the late gospel singer was missing,” a senior prison official said.

His wife d on April 8 and many of her colleagues had accused her husband of subjecting the deceased to domestic vi@lence, leading to her dea@h. He was alleged to have k Osinachi in the chest, leading to a blood clot that eventually k her.

Funke Akindele’s Husband Announces Marriage Crash

JJC Skillz, the husband of actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, has announced that their marriage is over.

In a post on his Instagram page on Thursday, JJC Skillz said he moved out of the house three months ago and they had been leading separate lives.

He said, “Dear Friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children.

“The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. Three months ago and at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship.

“I'm making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interests which need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other.”

Sen. Ike Ekweremadu and wife reportedly arrested in UK for organ h@rvesting
Two Nigerians have been arrested by UK police for conspiring to traffic a child to Nigeria for the purpose of ‘h@rvesting’ the organs, Daily Mail reports.

Metropolitan police in a statement said that Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu and Ike Ekweremadu - a former deputy senate president - who are 55 and 60 years old respectively have been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.

The police confirmed that Ike Ekweremadu and his wife have been charged with conspiring to arrange to bring a child to the UK to h@rvest organs in their home country, Nigeria.

Charges were brought against the pair following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime team. Police, however, said the child has been safeguarded but did not disclose the gender or the age of the child or the location of the arrests.

The report suggests that it is likely the suspects were arrested at Heathrow Airport since they are appearing in a court in Uxbridge.

The investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022, the force said.

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has said that the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Father Ejike Mbaka, remains his priest and father in faith.

Obi said this during an interview on the Voice of the People 90.3 FM on Sunday.

The presidential candidate said, “For me, Father Mbaka is an ordained priest of God and as a priest, he remains my priest. I will always respect and show my allegiance to the church. Whatever he says, I will take it because he’s my father in faith. I respect him and he’s my brother.”

Mbaka had last Wednesday labelled Obi a stingy man, who can never become Nigeria’s president.

Your System Can’t Take You Anywhere, Okotie Tells Peter Obi

The Founder of Household of God Church, Reverend Chris Okotie, has warned the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, that the ‘system’ that brought him forward can't take him far.

Okotie issued this advice on Sunday while addressing journalists at his church, Oregun, Ikeja during the celebration of his 63rd birthday.

While begging presidential candidates to step down for him to become Nigeria’s Interim president, he said, “I also want to tell (Peter) Obi that the system that introduced him cannot take him anywhere, because he cannot operate in the system we have now.”

On his proposed Interim government, Okotie said, “My government will be that of National Reconciliation and Reconstruction. The interim government shall address aberrations and anomalies in the polity. I want to implore all Nigerians to join hands in the conversations that would enable a transition to an interim government at the end of President Buhari’s administration.”

ABEOKUTA – Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinu­bu, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Pro­gressives Congress (APC), said on Thursday that he was instrumental to the electoral victory of President Muham­madu Buhari in 2015 general election.

He also confirmed that he nominated Prof. Yemi Osin­bajo as Buhari’s running mate.

While saying it is his turn to become the next president, Tinubu said he agreed with Buhari not to joke with the Yorubas.

He further revealed that the presidency has been his ambition since his days in Action Congress, Action Congress of Nigeria and the APC, adding that he nomi­nated Osinbajo to be the vice president after a campaign of calumny was allegedly launched against him by the former Senate President, Bu­kola Saraki.

The former governor also said when he was asked to submit three names for run­ning mate, he pencilled down Yemi Kadoso, Wale Edun and Yemi Osinbajo.

He added that he later set­tled for Osinbajo as running mate.

“It is my time, I’m educat­ed, I’m experienced. I have been serving you for a long time, bring me the presidency, it is my turn.

“When Atiku was be­ing flogged out of PDP by Obasanjo, he ran to me for help, I let the ticket for him. Nuhu Ribadu came to me and I backed him.

“If not for me that stood be­hind Buhari he wouldn’t have become the president. He tried the first time, he failed, the second time, he failed, the third time, he failed, he even wept on a national television and vowed never to contest again but I went to meet him in Kaduna and told him he will run again, I will stand by you and you will win, but you must not joke with Yorubas and he agreed.

“Since he became the pres­ident, I have never got minis­terial slots, I didn’t collect any contract, I have never begged for anything from him, it is the turn of Yoruba, it is my turn.

“Since the time we start­ed with the Action Congress (AC), Action Congress of Ni­geria (ACN) and now the All Progressives Congress (APC), I wanted to contest for presi­dent that time.

“This is me telling you between my life and God Al­mighty, Buhari called me to be his vice president. He said be­cause the first time he contest­ed, he picked Okadigbo, flam­boyant, Catholic, but Nigerians didn’t vote for him. The second time, he picked another Igbo, Umezuruike, Nigerians didn’t vote for him, that if he goes to bring the Pope to run as his vice, Nigerians won’t vote for him, but you Bola Tinubu, you have six governors, you have never lost an election before, come and be my vice.

“He knew all the calcula­tions then favoured us, that is why he wanted me as his vice, but I told him to let us build the party first.

“And when we finished building the party, after we brought in people from the PDP, Saraki now saw those from the PDP will not get anything if Buhari, a Muslim, becomes the president and me, also a Muslim becomes his vice, he won’t get the Senate President and the Senate President can­not also be a Muslim, that was how they started the campaign of calumny against me.

“And I told them that I have a candidate that is a Christian that I can nominate so that the party will not break, that was how I nominated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. I surrendered my right to him (Osinbajo).”

He also took a swipe at Gov­ernor Dapo Abiodun, saying he wouldn’t have become a governor without his support.

“It has been over 25 years now that I have been serving them. This one sitting behind me, Dapo, can he say he can be the governor without me?

“We were together at the MKO Abiola Stadium, he was intimated, they didn’t want to give the party’s flag, I was the one that handed the flag to him. He knows that he cannot be the governor without the help of God and my support.”
