Alhamdullilah. His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani has just announced that each and every one of the school children kidnapped in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area have been released. He expressed his appreciation to our President and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Governor also emphasised the key role played by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Kudos to the brave men and women of the Nigerian Army. We must now do everything to ensure this does not happen again. The introduction of State Police will certainly be a good start.

Niger State Governor Explores Railway Partnership with China.

Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, hosted a delegation from the China Railway Corporation in Minna, Niger State. The corporation, renowned for constructing China's extensive railway network, discussed working out a partnership to establish a railway network across three geopolitical zones in the state and Abuja.

The meeting also delved into potential collaborations in various sectors, including agriculture, housing, and the construction of airline hangars and the Cango terminal at Bola Tinubu International Airport Minna. With plans to solidify the partnership, the delegation is set to draft a Concept Note and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a business relationship with the state.

The ambitious project is anticipated to be funded through the China Exim Bank, marking a significant step towards improving transportation infrastructure and economic growth in Niger State.

HE Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello, Representing the Good People of Niger North Made this appeal during a courtesy visit to Chief David Umahi, the Honourable Minister of Works.

Sadaukin Kontagora emphasized the urgency of Completing the project, Pointing out that although the road’s Construction Contract was awarded More than a Decade and the Contractors left the site.

In his response, Minister of Works, Chief David Umahi assured the Senator of the Ministry’s Support and Contractors resumption to the site next Week unfailingly.

Minna-Bida Road: The Final Stage.

The Reconstruction, Upgrading & Dualization of Minna-Bida Road received a huge boost as the 3 pre-qualified and shortlisted Companies submitted their Financial Bids for the 82km Project at the New Niger Office, Minna. The companies are Triacta Nigeria Limited, CGC Nigeria Limited and Arab Contractors.

The Minna-Bida Road is a major economic corridor and is expected to boost industrialization of the State, as it will eventually become the longest dual carriage in the State, at a length of 82km.

The project is among the key development objectives of the Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago administration, and a key success factor for the State's Agricultural Revolution drive, as it will facilitate the prompt evacuation and movement of agricultural produces in Niger State.

It would be recalled that early last year, the Niger State Government placed Invitation for Pre-qualification on 13th and 14th February, 2023 in Two (2) National Dailies; The Nations and Leadership Newspapers respectively. Pre-qualification documents were issued to the interested Applicants after the publication of the Specific Procurement Notice. A total of Eleven (11) companies submitted their interest. The opening was conducted on the 14th of March 2023, as indicated in the specific procurement notice and the Bid Data Sheet, in the presence of Applicants who chose to attend.

Eventually, after the Evaluation processes, following all standard procedures, Five (5) Companies were issued with No Objection Report, namely;

1.Triacta Nigeria Limited,
2. CGC Nigeria Limited
3. Arab Contractors O.A Nigeria Ltd/ Arab Contractors O.A Co. (Egypt) (JV)
4. China Communication Construction Company Nigeria Limited (CCCCNL) and
5. Hitech Construction Company Limited/ ITB Nigeria Limited (JV).

Subsequently, the companies were invited to submit their financial bids on 30th January 2024, followed by today's opening of Financial Bids at the New Niger Office.

1. Farmer Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago inspects 5,000 agricultural equipment and a remodeled terminal at the International Airport, Minna, by the state government preparing for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu's upcoming visit to inaugurate the projects.

3. The Governor expresses readiness to receive the President and assures that many tractors will be assembled before his arrival.

4. The Airport City Free Zone includes clearing 2,000 hectares of land for agricultural purposes (1,000 hectares for vegetables and fruits and 1,000 hectares for dairy and livestock activities) for export with aspirations to become one of Africa's largest agro-processing zones.

6. Infrastructure development plans include drawing water irrigation from Shiroro dam and establishing 80mgwt power to stabilize electricity supply for the Airport and the special agro-processing zone and attract investment into the airport city project.

7. The Farmer Governor reaffirms his commitment to making Niger State an agricultural hub and calls for support from Nigerlites.
