THE STORM IS BEGINNING TO GATHER

FORMER CSU PRESIDENT TO SUE TINUBU OVER FORGERY

This is not a good time for the embattled president of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a former president of the Chicago State University, Dr. Elnara Daniel said she had concluded plans to drag him to a US criminal court for forgery.

The former CSU president according to some documents sighted by Nigerian Concord Newspaper said it was a criminal act for the president of Nigeria to forge her signature on the certificate he is parading.

Dr. Daniel said in the document that she has finalized her papers to sue Tinubu but is only waiting for the institution to release his academic records to the former vice president of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar tomorrow, Monday as directed by District Judge Maldonado before storming the court for her suit against Tinubu.

The former Chicago State University president said she didn’t sign the controversial certificate which Tinubu presented to INEC during his nomination process last year, noting that she was not even a staff of the institution until 19 years after the certificate was forged.

Daniel wondered how she could sign a certificate which was allegedly issued in 1979 when she actually began work at the institution in 1998.

She said her plan to press a criminal charge against Tinubu was a result of the pressures by her family, friends and associates to clear her name from allegations in the media that she was bribed by the embattled Nigerian president to sign the forged CSU certificate.

She pressed further in the document that she never had any student by that name “Tinubu” throughout her stay as the president of the Chicago State University.

I Did Not Mean To Be Offensive - Italian journalist Marika Fruscio Pleads With Nigerians After Post Knocking Osimhen

Italian journalist Marika Fruscio, in a social media post on Wednesday, has pleaded with Nigerians over her statement knocking Nigerian-born footballer Victor Osimhen.

The Super Eagles striker had deleted Napoli-related posts following a now-deleted TikTok video shared by the club mocking his failed penalty kick against Bologna on Sunday.

Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, not long after, released a statement expressing the footballer's displeasure about the video, adding that he is considering legal action.

"What happened today [Tuesday] on Napoli's official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable.

"A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.

"A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.

"We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor."

Reacting to Osimhen's actions, she said, "You're a champion, but it takes humility. What's the use of deleting the photos of the team that worshipped and supported you?

"What's the point of flirting like this?? Even legal action for a sarcastic video? An intelligent man would have laughed at it.

"Be the professional. Head down and work. It's our fault anyway that we make these players almost gods. Just the shirt, just the shirt."

Not long after her post, her social media page was flooded with Nigerians slamming the journalist for her statement about Osimhen, prompting the Italian journalist to release another Instagram post saying she did not mean to be offensive.

"Dear beloved people of Nigeria, I am a showgirl who also works in a TV program related to football.

"In my comment and post, I did in reference to the Nigerian football player Victor Osimhen. I didn't want to be offensive, but it was my only point of view and had to be understood as a personal suggestion.

"I love Africa, and I have always appreciated their talents and the beautiful values in terms of friendship and positivity they have.

"Now days are so full of bad news, so let's spread love and peace. Hugs to you all," Fruscio wrote on Thursday.

Mohbad's Death Opened Our Eyes To Areas We Didn't Focus On, Says Actor Kunle Afolayan

Nigerian actor and film producer, Kunle Afolayan, has opined that the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, open the eyes of many to areas that were not focused on.

Afolayan, while mourning the deceased in a post on his Instagram account, said that every person has a certain purpose to fulfill before they leave the world.

He said, "I know the last few days have been very emotional for a lot of people, including myself, in regards to Mohbad's death.

"But for me, I have a different take. We all came to this world to fulfill a certain purpose, and when that is completed, we depart this world.

"I think he came to liberate and start a movement, to open people's eyes to areas we never paid attention to. I think he has fulfilled the essence of why he came to this world.

"My condolences to the wife, the child, the mother, the father, and his relatives."

MohBad died on Tuesday, September 12, at the age of 27.

JUSTICE FOR MOHBAD, AN EVIDENCE OF POSITIVE SHIFT; KUDOS TO NIGERIA YOUTHS

I want to first and foremost, condole with the family of Imole, popularly known as MOHBAD, whose beautiful and promising life was cut short by men of the dark world, men who are afraid of Light and can never identify with Light. They are also known as destiny destroyers. May the Almighty God console, comfort and strengthen them. My heart bleeds for the five months old charming and promising baby who he has left behind. May God step in and take absolute control of the destiny of the little child. He shall live to fulfil the destiny with the double anointing of his father.

Our consolation is that, we will not relent in demanding for justice and I am completely assured that the Youths will not stop until Justice is achieved for Mohbad and a lot of young talents who are passing through similar ordeal will be liberated.

I encourage the youths who are passing through the same terrible experiences like what Mohbad experienced to speak out and take advantage of this saga.

I want to sincerely appreciate the youths of our great nation. Nigeria as a nation is blessed with talented, energetic, fearless, HiTech, brave and revolutionary youths, who are obvious tools in the hands of Change to change the narrative of the old order and bring about a positive shift that will birth the New Nigeria we all eagerly wait for. KUDOS TO NIGERIA YOUTHS.

With the recent developments in the quest for Justice for Mohbad, we see an Army of Change rising with great and irresistible force, just like a Tsunami. We see an electrifying network via the internet space and we see one voice and one language among them.

This is exactly what is needed for a total overhauling of the order that has eaten deep into the country and has brought about long time decadence.

What is the one message the Youths of Nigeria are sending out? The youths are simply saying, 'WE ARE TIRED OF THE TERRIBLE EXISTING ORDER AND WE ARE COMMITTED TO CHANGING THE NARRATIVE'.

Kudos to Nigeria Youths!
Justice for Mohbad!

PHOTOS: Imo Gov Visits Scene Where Policemen, Soldiers Were Killed By Gunmen

Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, visited the scene where gunmen ambushed and killed some security operatives in the early hours of Tuesday.

The sad incident, which claimed the lives of some operatives of a joint security task force team, happened in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

Reacting to the sad incident on Tuesday, Uzodinma, in an X post, expressed his sadness, assuring citizens that justice will be served.

He wrote, "I was saddened at the news of an ambush by armed men, which led to the death of some security personnel on duty at Umuezeala Owerre in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

"I have visited the scene of the crime, this barbaric act is unacceptable and I have directed a collaborative effort amongst the security units for justice.

"However, I assured our people not to exercise any fear of reprisal attack or hostility, even as I appeal for cooperation from the community.

"Ndi Imo nwe'm, let's not be dismayed by this, as it does not in any way unbalance our ongoing campaign against criminality and its associated vices in our dear State.

"Let us be rest assured that we will track those behind this heinous crime and bring them to book. Once more, I commiserated with the security agencies whose men were involved in the ugly incident.

"The Government will provide every necessary support to ensure that all officers and men of our security agencies are encouraged by serving justice." Hope uzodimma

REMINDER: IT IS NOT OVER YET!

As we gets ready to head to the Supreme Court, these are some important issues the Supreme Court will have to explain to Nigerians regarding the technical PEPT judgement.

Whether:

1. When a person is nominated by a political party, even in contravention of the Electoral Act, it is
non-justiciable to question such a nomination.

2. The only ground to question qualification for any candidate in an election would be the ground based on the Constitution of Nigeria like in Presidential election section 137 of the constitution and NO other!

3. One must be tried and convicted of a criminal offence in less than 10 years to be disqualified to be a candidate for an election.

4. Forfeitures as a result of money laundering related to narcotic trafficking is not a crime. Like Diezani Alison-Madueke had not committed any crime in spite of several permanent forfeitures of her properties.

5. Non-compliance with INEC Regulations and Manuals will NEVER be a ground to question election outcome!

6. Section 70 of the Electoral Act did not make it MANDATORY for INEC to publish regulations for, among others, Recording and the COLLATION of results.

7. Public Pronouncements, press releases and announcements by INEC with regard to any election are meaningless and would not be relied on in any election.

8. Electronic transmission of Election result in whatever form is not warranted by the electoral act.

9. There is never any form of validation, verification, comparing or ascertain of election results from the Pus as envisaged in section 64(4) of the electoral act. Just agree with whatever INEC had declared and move on.

10. One must submit a petition accompanied with all the grounds, material facts ( paragraphs) and evidences. That any evidence submitted after the submission of petition is meaningless.

11. That even if evidences are made available to the adverse party and adverse party cross-examine witnesses or documents as the case maybe, it is still viewed by the “learned” judges as constituting ambush.

12. The idea that INEC is lawfully mandated to give access within 14 days of election to parties in election dispute is meaningless and will not be reckoned by the tribunal.

13. That our electoral laws recognise only Resident Electoral Commissioner for the purposes of election materials and not the Chairman of INEC.

14. That the judgement of the court appeal asking INEC to preserve the data in the BVAS machine in a safe storage system while reconfiguring the BVAS machine has no potency and must not be considered in view of the judges calling for the tendering of BVAS machine in court. That INEC certified copies of accreditation information is not enough?

15. That agreements reached between litigants in the presence of the judges and in court whereby they agreed never to question Certified True Copies by INEC amounted to nothing?

16. That Certified True Copies are no longer “ copies of original in my custody”

17. The subpoenas issued by courts to individuals/corporates to bear witnesses or to provide documents are no longer at the instance of the courts. That is to say a subpoenaed witness or document is not a witness or document of the court.

18. That estoppel is live even if those not parties in the earlier case are involved!

19. That section 137 of the Electoral Act, that barred oral witnesses in proving non-compliance if Certified copies or original documents are available, is NONSENSICAL!

20. That Electoral Act 2006 and 2010 are still in force as the “learned” judges kept quoting. Electoral Act 2022 is effectively repealed.

21. That determination of election petition must be based Procedural justice ( aka Technical), instead of substantive Justice ( Justice conceptualised in ethics and philosophy that focuses on the fairness and morality of the outcomes or results of a particular action, policy, or decision.)

22. That regardless of how clear the provisions of the constitution are, the judges can determine and make sense of it in whatever bias they want.

23. That the determination of FCT, Abuja is not about what the provisions of the constitution but what the “learned” judges believe is right regardless!

24. That by the provisions of section 134(3b) FCT, Abuja will also be considered a state in the selection of the second candidate for a run-off since FCT, Abuja is considered a state.

25. That FCT, Abuja is a state in Nigeria.

26. That the only feasible way to institute a successful petition is for every candidate to form own mini-INEC, collate the results, take custody of own results including own BVAS machine ..so as to produce all these within 21 days after the election in the tribunal!

27. That Polling Unit Results is the same as COLLATED results.

28. That no legal consideration whatsoever will be given to results uploaded in the IREV for the purposes of collation.

H.E. Mr Peter Gregory Obi, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party Speaks on the 2023 Presidential Elections Petition Court (PEPC) Judgment
On 7th September 2023
At Onitsha, Nigeria

1. Yesterday, 6 September 2023, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) finally delivered its long-awaited judgments on the Petitions challenging the outcome of the presidential election held on 25 February 2023. This judgment was delivered within the statutory time frame under the extant statutes. We acknowledge the Court's contributions to due process and the seeming attempt to strengthen our democracy.

2. As petitioners in this case, we respect the views and rulings of the Court, but we disagree with the Court's reasoning and conclusions in the judgment it delivered. It is my intention as a presidential candidate and the intention of the Labour Party to challenge this judgment by way of appeal immediately, as allowed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

3. The PEPC has rendered its judgment, but that esteemed body is not the final arbiter. The responsibility now falls on the Supreme Court. I do know that judgment is not coterminous with justice. I implore Nigerians to remain focused, steadfast, and peaceful; and to abide by the rule of law and understand that this matter has not reached its logical conclusion.

4. Our legal team has already received our firm instruction to file an appeal against the decision. I shall not relent in the quest for justice, not necessarily for myself but indeed for our teeming supporters all over the country whose mandate to us at the polls was regrettably truncated by INEC.

5. The strength and value of our democracy reside in solid national institutions and our confidence in them. Electoral litigations will be almost unnecessary and nonexistent if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) discharges its statutory functions creditably, transparently and with discernible fairness. When that body fails, as it did recently, thus subverting the will of Nigerian voters, the recourse to the judiciary becomes imperative, as is now the case.

6. I thank every Nigerian who has supported our cause and campaign for a New Nigeria characterized by fairness, equity, justice, the rule of law, peace, prosperity, inclusiveness, sustainable growth, and development. A New Nigeria is possible and achievable. I especially thank our legal team, the Labour Party and Obidient Family and all those who showed up daily during the court trials. God bless you all, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
