Senate committee lauds Osayande for quality administration
A team leader from the Senate Committee on State and Local Government Administration, Engr. Kayode Adegbayo, has hailed the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, for raising the bar on local government administration.
Adegbayo spoke when his team was taken round project sites in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, a few days ago.
At the newly-built Egba market in Ward 8 of the LGA, amidst jubilation from the market women, Adegbayo said, "I am very impressed with the works of the Council Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, who has done marvelous in office; in his first term, he won the award as best in Edo after taking us round several projects, I am sure, he will win again this time as we continue to go from one project to another."
The team which was taken to Egba market in Ward 8 and Iwogban Primary School, a completed 6-classroom project in Ward 1, expressed satisfaction with the job, while encouraging other Councils to emulate.
The Adegbayo-led committee on a visit to Egba market noted that it is visiting local councils across the Country to appraise what Chairmen are doing, in order to invite performing Council Chairmen for Abuja awards and by extension encourage others on the job.
"I want to congratulate you all, we are going round all the Country, we are going round all Edo State, to see Chairmen that are doing well for their people, so that we bring them to Abuja to honour them, to encourage them to do more.
"Coming here, we are impressed to see this extension, of this market, with a promise of the Chairman to build more", Adegbayo added.
The Committee has said it will continue to pursue effective local government administration by embarking on on-the-site visitation and supervision of local government projects.

..traders in jubilant mood, as facility meets completion
The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, has assured market women in the LGA of better deal as his administration progresses.
Osayande gave the assurance when his representative visited the newly-built thirty six (36) stalls in Egba market.
A 36-stall market facility, built by the Osayande-led administration, aims to decongest, expand the already existing market facility which has become congested owing to increasing number of traders in Egba market.
Another promise kept by the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman.
Recall that during his electioneering campaigns last year, Osayande assured of expanding Egba market; in a visit to the market women, he noted that if elected, within the first few months, he will flag-off the expansion project; on Saturday, Press Secretary to the Council Chairman, Eseosa Ewere, was at the facility to ascertain the level of performance.
Osayande, who assumed office for the second term September last year, continue to work hard to meet popular expectations.
While building and expanding markets across Wards, he just commissioned a 5-room toilet facility at Okha market Ward 9, his market money initiative continue to gain huge commendation with over eight hundred market women beneficiaries across various markets in the LGA recorded.
Just yesterday, one hundred (100) Ohovbe market women got N1Million as their share of the Osayande market money.
Several other projects, programmes completed and ongoing are scattered across the locality.
A short video of how the Egba market women reacted to the newly-built 36-stall market facility by the Osayande-led administration is attached to this report.
"We will continue to work assiduously to meet the ever-increasing demands, yearnings and aspirations of the good people of Ikpoba-Okha", the Ikpoba-Okha Council Chairman has assured.

*Ahead Edo2024, Edos from all walks of life continue to troop in the home of Osarodion Ogie*
_...as support swells across board_
The GRA residence of the deputy governorship candidate of the PDP in the fast-approaching Edo governorship election of September 21, Osarodion Ogie, has become a mecca of sort; Ogie's residence, which has always been a settlement for political and strategic engagement, can now be termed simply a marketplace.
The floors, corners and quarters in the residence of the leader haven't had a breathing space since the announcement, and subsequent confirmation and clearance of Osarodion Ogie as running mate to Asue Ighodalo, the PDP governorship candidate.
Ogie, a man who has cut his teeth in public administration and strategic planning, remains a major rallying point ahead the poll; a vast majority of Edo people at home and abroad has commended the PDP for nominating the complete gentleman, describing Ogie as a round peg.
Yesterday, various youth and women groups from across the nooks and crannies of Edo State assembled in the SSG's abode declaring support for AiO².
"We are solidly behind the AiO² combo," they said in unison on Saturday.
On Friday, the University of Benin Senior Staff Club, Ugbowo, held a question and answer session with the duo; the session ended with Club members expressing satisfaction with the responses of the governorship and deputy governorship candidates.
And as the campaigns set to kick-off, AiO² have made their marks in their respective endeavours, they come to the electoral field with bags of competence, character, capacity, experience, exposure, contacts, and a boisterous enthusiasm, now needed to sustain existential legacies, while expanding the frontiers of Edo for multisectoral development.
Asue Ighodalo possesses a robust understanding of Edo's economic potentialities; having served as Chairman of the Alaghodaro Economic Summit for a sizable period, he is sufficiently familiar with the realities and challenges that faces Edo's economy, beyond that, Ai possesses the relevant credentials to rally realistic solutions for our State's economic development.
He is a masterstroke for an improved Edo economy.
Osarodion Ogie on the other hand, remains an exemplary leader, a directional lamplight who knows the way, goes the way and leads the way; through his open-door policy and human capacity development disposition, Osarodion Ogie has impacted lives in all corners of Edo State, a trait now ready to be rewarded with good gesture by the vast majority of Edo people.
Ogie's inclusion in the race unapologetically alters every calculation the opposition has made, rendering them (opposition) battered, brutalized, broken, long before the election proper.
The combination of Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie has been described by political watchers as a perfectionist tendency, and one sound decision the PDP has taken in recent times; a move that has reawaken the political sagacity of a vast majority of Edo people who thought from the very beginning, that the AiO² combo should be a natural phenomenon, and not a subject for prolonged political debate.
And as the time ticks, i's dotted and t's crossed, and as political parties and players set to float their campaigns, Edos from all walks of life continue to troop in the abode of Osarodion Ogie, swelling up their support, canvassing every Edo man, woman, boy and girl to rally behind the AiO² ticket, a strategic move by the Peoples Democratic Party to keep Edo on the path of glory.

PDP...POWER!!!
Agbakomiza: an unprepared, unattractive, unmarketable candidate, not fit to govern a 21st century Edo; exhibits intellectual and structural deficit, as Idahosa looks on, lost, disappointed
..reject APC in Edo, embrace PDP
Agbakomiza is the name of the APC gubernatorial candidate in the Edo governorship election of September.
Everything about the candidate appears awkward, weird and unpopular; he does not look prepared for the office he is aspiring to, he appears like one being padded for the top job, how he won the Senatorial election of last year may just be a mirage.
There are reports that protest votes against the third term ambition of the immediate past Senator of Edo Central, Clifford Odia, was what favoured Agbakomiza, he really didn't have any marketable attributes to catapult him to Senate.
His first public appearance has been a major flop, destructive enough to reduce his already battered chances at the poll; his grammatical construction and physical mien speaks of one lacking the confidence to express himself; little wonder he is hardly heard of in the Senate.
Yesterday, a video surfaced on the social media, where the Candidate was seen mercilessly murdering English language.
He went further to overate himself to the point of promising to "create boreholes" if elected; like a mad man, high on "colos", he said Obaseki has not done in almost eight years what he (Agbako) has done in just over a year as Senator.
He said "since 1999, there have never been APZee, APC present in Edo Central", he claimed to have "change the narration"; Agbako is no doubt a load of liability and baggage presented by the APC in a governorship contest.
A wayward Party with no regards for excellence.
For the information of Agbakomiza, the civil and public service reforms prevalent in Edo today are Obaseki's brainchild; today, documented pensioners in Edo can stroll into any government registered health facility and get medical services at reduced cost, because Obaseki cares; today, 112 and 739 are emergency call numbers in Edo, an initiative of the Obaseki-led administration to boost security; several institutions that were dead pre-Obaseki are now cynosures of all eyes on Obaseki's watch; the state secretariat on Sapele road, crassly abandoned by successive administrations is now a global facility, Edo is the only State that subscribes to the N40,000 minimum wage, Edo workers are first to recieve their monthly wage nationwide, 13-month is a reality, all on Obaseki's watch.
We want to believe that Agbakomiza's mental health is intact, to have claimed to surpass Obaseki, with just over a year in the Senate.
We want to strongly appeal to the APC and its handlers to henceforth, keep their liability in the bedroom, so the informed public will not begin to see the Edo2024 contest as child's play, as Agbakomiza is now an object of mockery following his lackluster disposition.
The global community and the good people of Edo State, are very impressed with the candidates the PDP has produced.
Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osarodion Ogie—two eminent personalities with significant contributions to the development of our polity; while Ighodalo successfully champions Edo's economic blueprint via the instrumentalities of the Alaghodaro Economic Summit on the one hand, Ogie on the other hand, directs the policy infrastructure of the Obaseki-led administration, creating a functional base for Edo's cross-cultural development.
Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie are the darlings of the guber contest, having them as Governor and Deputy, respectively, come November this year is a sacrosanct duty for Edo people.
The APC and its funny-looking candidates must stop bringing shame and ridicule to Edo State; it is obvious that their only strategy ahead the September poll is federal might, that President Tinubu will upturn results in their favour—a lazy expectation not possible to hold any water in an Edo election.
The Edo governorship poll is an exercise of our lives; the Obaseki-led administration has laid evergreen foundations deserving sustainability; Agbakomiza and Idahosa are strangers to the new Edo project, they have no clue, no contributions and no foresight as to what the new Edo entails; come November, we must enthrone an administration that possesses the wherewithal to sustain existential legacies while expanding the frontiers for Edo's advanced development—this is what the Ighodalo-Ogie combo exemplifies.
Today's Edo requires more than the APC and its candidates; Agbakomiza, an unprepared, unattractive and unmarketable candidate with no economic blueprint, he is unfit to govern a 21st Century Edo, considering his intellectual and structural deficit, and a running mate with a shady integrity test despite being a 2-term HoR Member.

Over 2,000 people throngs SSG's residence, as Asue Ighodalo visits to jolificate with running mate
..governorship candidate impressed with outing
On Saturday, Edos numbering over 2,000 or more gathered at the Aideyan residence of the deputy governorship candidate of the PDP and Secretary to State Government, Osarodion Ogie, at a lively joliification with the newly-nominated running mate to Asue Ighodalo.
People from all walks of life including academics, politicians, traditional rulers, artisans, men, women and youths, even people with disabilities (PWDs), were amongst persons who thronged the Country home of Osarodion Ogie to identify with the honourable gentleman.
On Friday, news of Osarodion Ogie's nomination hit the public space, creating a convivial atmosphere that has continued to increase up to this moment.
Council Chairmen including Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia, Egor, Hon. Collins Ogbewe, Ovia North East, Dr. Eric Osayande, Ikpoba-Okha, and other top political players in Edo were physically present; a boisterous show of solidarity that has caused severe unsettlement in the camps of the opposition.
Edos, across political divides, economic and religious affiliations, have long waited for the announcement of the nomination of Osarodion Ogie, they have vowed to embark on a statewide mobilization to ensure victory for the PDP in the fast-approaching September poll.
While Edos feasted, Asue Ighodalo, a remarkably social governorship candidate of the PDP, surfaced, to the cheer of the large crowd, who gave him a grandiose reception upon sighting him.
"Ai, O², Ai, O², Ai, O², Ai, O², Ai, O², Ai, O²" rented the air as men, women, boys and girls built circles of joy around the candidates.
Obviously impressed with the turn out of people at the SSG's residence, Asue Ighodalo took to exchanging pleasantries with as many as he could; in a remarkably humble manner, the Edo governor-hopeful moved from section-to-section, corner-to-corner, connecting with his people, in company of the SSG.
With over nine (9) associations present, including Edo Drivers Welfare Scheme (EDWS), Association of Fashion Designers, Arewa Community, PWDs, Edo Hunters Association, Butchers Association, etc, and more to fall in line as the campaigns set to kickstart, one can say unequivocally that the PDP is headed for victory with Ighodalo-Ogie on the frontline.
The duo possesses robust understanding of the policy direction of the new Edo project, playing significant policy roles in the Obaseki-led administration; while Asue Ighodalo has managed the economic blueprint of our dear State via the instrumentalities of the Alaghodaro Economic Summit, Osarodion Ogie champions the policy infrastructure of this administration, creating an enabling template for advanced socio-infrastructural growth.
God-willing, November this year, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie will inherit a commendable developmental system, that will see to the expansion of the frontiers of Edo for multisectoral development and increased civil and public service reforms, others.

Only old people will feature in my administration, no room for youths - Shaibu ...youths, too small to advise me - Edo DG The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has relegated youths in Edo State, labeling them unprofessionals and unintelligent, and as such, not good enough to feature in his administration, if he becomes Governor. Shaibu, who is 54 years old, said he cannot listen to youths because they are too small to advise him. In a video interview granted recently on Arise TV's The Morning Show, Shaibu said, "...I will not be a Governor that my advisers will be younger than me, my advisers must be old, people I can listen to; I am going to be having special advisers that I can listen to because they are gurus, experts." Philip Shaibu joined Edo politics as a youth, during when he became Member, Edo State House of Assembly, Member, House of Reps, now Deputy Governor; even at 54, he is still considered a youth, that the Deputy Governor went on national tv to relegate Edo youths is shocking and distasteful and casts doubt on his commitment to youth development. Shaibu's submission on tv against Edo youths is not only shocking, but an insult on the body of hardworking Edo youths, people now making their marks in their various endeavours. "It is embarrassing for a Governorship aspirant to go on national tv to insult the same people he aspires to govern, no doubt, this unfortunate development will further dampen the embattled Deputy Governor's chance in his desperation to be Governor", Osaretin, a young Edo lawyer noted. "We will advise the Deputy Governor to steer clear of tv and radio interviews for now, get back to his cocoon, polish his public image and prepare for 2032, in any case he may still be interested to govern Edo", the lawyer added.
