MY TAKE AND ADVICE TO THE OBIDIENT MOVEMENT...
Over the past months I have gradually watched how the youths whom makes up the 60% of Nigerian's registered voters summoned courage and started reaching each other on the mandate to deliver a younger and innovative presidential candidate in the person of H.E Peter Obi.
It all started like a joke during the party primaries especially when the two major parties in Nigeria (APC and PDP) shopped for an older candidates whom have in one way or the other involved in the leadership of the country at the appex level.
The OBIdient movement like they said started from the social media but today has become a reality although we still have those doubting Thomas who are still convinced by the deciet of some social media influencers saying that the members of the OBIdient are rented crowd, but this is a very big lie. After little research I understood that these are patriotic supporters of Peter Obi all over Nigeria using the 1Million march in Rivers State as a case study, there wasn't any incident of ward or LGA leaders hiring bus and paying money to people to come out, rather I saw die hard supports using their money to mobilize and print materials for themselves and even walked under the rain to actualize their set objectives.
After all this findings, I have come to the conclusion that the OBIdient movement has grown and will continue to grow just like the share of ideas amongs Nigeria youths during the End-Sars-Protest.
MY ADVISE TO THE OBIDIENT MOVEMENT..
There is no doubt that Peter Obi is the best among all the Presidential candidates and it all doesn't end at campaigning and showing solidarity but other measures ought to be taken and I have found the following good enough to share:
1. VOTE AND DEFEND YOUR VOTE: Voting is good and I am convinced that all the OBIdients have their PVC's to vote, but it all doesn't end at voting but they have to vote and make sure that thier votes count by monitoring the process till the end.
2. PROVIDING GOOD AND INTERGRITY REPRESENTATIVES DURING THE ELECTIONS: The leadership of Labour party should try and provide men of integrity as their party reps (Agents) in the various polling units during the elections.
2. EQUIPMENT OF PARTY AGENTS: Providing agents with integrity is ok but equipping them for the task is another thing, there is a saying that going to an occasion after feefing well will reduce long throat except someone that has natural long throat. The agents should be equipped financially to avoid being compromised.
Also they should be equipped technologically through provision of electronic gadgets so as to transmit all polling unit results to a central control room and all social media respectively, this will in turn reduce rigging.
3. CAMPAIGN TO PARENTS: After due research I have come to the conclusion that the majority of the OBIdient movement is the youths, while we also have a vast majority of parents who also constitutes majority of the voting strength. So the campaign should be taken to our parents so as to get their attention. This can be achieved through visiting them with gifts and relief materials so as to get their attention and talk to them on the reason to vote Peter Obi, as I know our parents believe on what they see and hear.
4. VOTERS EDUCATION: There should be proper voters education across the various wards and units in Nigeria so as to sensitize the citizens on how and where to vote so as to avoid void votes..
