I participated in APC Primary With My True Identity and Credentials- Bakare Replies Tinubu/APC
Pastor Tunder Bakare, the Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church has on Tuesday replied the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress that dismissed him as a political featherweight and mocked him for scoring zero votes in the APC presidential primaries.

Bakare said he scored zero votes with his true identity and original credentials.

He is quoted as reported by Vanguard:

He said, “Can someone tell these people that scoring zero in a primary election with one’s true identity and integrity intact as well having original credentials from well-known schools:

“Primary, Secondary, colleges and University within and outside of this nation is a veritable badge of honor, absolutely legit and unquestionable? Please tell them that in the words of Michel De Montaigne.”

“Why are they then giving any thought to what I said? May be their alleged “paper weight” is too heavy for them to carry.

On the alleged video in which he was alleged to have urged his church members to vote for Tinubu, this is what he had to say:

“There are some defeats more triumphant than victories.” One of the Special Advisers that I thought had some semblance of nobility had to utter outright lies and falsehoods to satisfy his paymaster. He said that I did a video asking members of our church to vote for their candidate and then turn around to ask them not to vote for him.

“Unfortunately, there is no such video containing such falsehood. The abridged video these people are sending around is from a message preached here (Citadel Global Community Church) in 2020 with the title: “An idle man’s brain is the devil’s workshop.” I made it clear in the video that I did not endorse their candidate’s lifestyle, business or type of politics.

“In the said video, I never asked our members to vote or not vote for their candidate or any other candidate. By the way, our members are not zombies. They, by the grace of God, have their own minds and will decide who to vote for on Election Day. As for those whose stock in trade is lying against others and fabricating stories that are not true about them, our strong consolation is that their DNA and the final destination are spelt out in the Bible. See Psalm 58:3-8. “The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies…”

Bakare had drawn the ire of the APC / Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council for saying "Emi Lokan" politics leads to dictatorship and that no good candidate seeking the votes of the public would avoid debates and rather task other people to be answering questions directed at him. Bola Tinubu has been alleged to have issues with his true identity, school records and even linked to narcotics trade.

"Emi Lokan" in Yoruba means "my turn" and it was used by Bola Tinubu to make an argument for his presidential campaign.

Police Lay Siege on Emefiele's Home in Abuja
There are reports that a sizeable number of policemen are laying siege on the home of the Central Bank Governor(CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

The Punch is reporting that over ten police men were currently besieging the Maitama Abuja home of Emefiele.

Emefiele is scheduled to make an appearance on Wednesday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, in connection with a judgement debt of $53million over the Paris Club refunds.

The Police in Abuja have denied any knowledge of policemen sent to the CBN Governor's house.

Godwin Emefiele has been under a lot of pressure lately. The new CBN policy on cash withdrawals limit seems to have made him a lot of enemies, especially amongst the political class.
The Directorate of State Services (DSS) had recently gone to court to seek a warrant for his arrest on charges of "Terrorism Funding". This action led to Emefiele delaying his return back to the country from an overseas trip.

He was reportedly accompanied by a large contingent of soildiers who gave him cover from the Airport and to his office. It is unclear what is at play here as the DSS is adamant about arresting Emefiele.
However, Emefiele seems to have the backing of prominent Nigerians close to the President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Tunde Bakare Got Zero Votes At APC Primaries, He Is A Political Paperweight - Fani Kayode and APC
The Director, Special Media Projects/New Media at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lambasted Pastor Tunde Bakare of Citadel Global Community Church.

Tunde Bakare was one of the contestants at the APC presidential primaries which was won by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

On Sunday 15th August, during his Sunday sermon, Bakare had taken jives at Tinubu with an apparent reference to "Emi Lokan", which means my turn in Yoruba during his Sunday sermon.

Bakare said Emi Lokan style of politics leads to Dictatorships and added that no good poitician seeking votes would evade public debates.

For those remarks, he drew the attention of Fani-Kayode who said Bakare got zero votes at the convention.

Dele Alake another spokesman of the APC presidential campaign called Tunder Bakare a political featherweight. He is quoted:

“This is a man who did a video in his church asking his members to vote for Tinubu, then the next day, he does the opposite. For us, that is not a serious issue".

“With due respect to him, he is a political paperweight, a political neophyte “.

Italian Mafia: Boss of Sicilian Mafia Wanted For 30 years, Finally Arrested
The Godfather of Sicilian Mafia and Italy's most notorious mafia kingpin, Matteo Messina Denaro, has been arrested after 30 years on the run.

Matteo,60,was arrested in Sicily after he checked into a private hospital to be treated for cancer.

He is believed to be directly responsible for the 1992 murders of anti-mafia prosecutors Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.

Italian authorities also believed he was responsible for the murder of a 12 year boy who was kidnapped to prevent his father from testifying against the mafia. The boy was held for two years and finally murdered, with his body dissolved in acid.

Matteo is also believed responsible for several bomb attacks in Milan, Florence and Rome as reported by the BBC.

I Will Declare War On Power Sector - Peter Obi At Chatham House
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi today said he would declare WAR on the problematic power sector in Nigeria.

Obi was speaking at the Chatham House, London where he highlighted his policies and visions for Nigeria.

He is quoted:
igeria generates about five to six thousand megawatts of electricity for 200 million people. And South Africa, the second biggest in terms of economy on the continent — 60 million people — generates about 40,000 to 50,000, and South-Africa in the past three months has declared emergency on power and said anybody can generate up to 100 megawatts without licence.

“So, somebody who is 60 million, generating about over 40,000, declared emergency, what do you think somebody with 200 million people generating five to six thousand would do? War.

“I’m going to declare war on power and I will solve it. Anybody who stands in the way, so be it.”

Peter Obi said his government was going to dismantle the the existing structure of criminality that currently exists in Nigeria. He said the structure has impoverished the country and must be dismantled.

He also addressed a large section of Nigerians waiting outside the Chatham House telling them his government would make them proud to hold their green Nigerian passport again. The waiting crowd became excited and cheered loudly. For the first time in a generation, the crowd was witnessing a presidential candidate willing to take on entrenched interests in the country and do the right thing to move the country forward.

Ondo Governor, Akeredolu's Wife In War Of Words With His Female Special Adviser
It seems all is not well in the Akeredolu's household at Ondo State Government House.

Sahara Reporters have release a voice recording of Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of the Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, threatening to deal with Bunmi Ademosun, the Special Adviser on Multilateral and Intergovernment Affairs to the Governor.

In the recording, Betty was heared clearly warning Ademosun to saty away from her husband.

It seems the Special Adviser had become a little too close to the Governor, who apparently is not too well. Ademosun was warned by the Governors Wife to stop bringing concotions to the Governor to treat himself.

Here is the transcript from the recording:

“This is Arabinrin, I have a message for Ademosun and I believe that she’s on this Aketi’s women platform. I want this woman to stay away from my husband, stop sneaking in concoction.

“According to her, they are from her fake pastors to give my husband to drink. We rely on medical care. We rely on western style of medical care and Aketi will get well.

“What has triggered this very message is her recent meetings to become the deputy governor of Ondo state. Look at you, what have you got upstairs to become the deputy governor of Ondo state? Peradventure anything happens to Aketi, Lucky takes over, it’s a constitutional thing. But for you to be scheming, for you to be scheming. I warned Aketi from the beginning that this woman is evil, this woman is no good and it’s happening. She has nothing good for you and I warned you. This woman is bloody evil. But I’m warning her for the very last time to stay away from my husband.

“And look, if you are dealing with an Igbo woman in this kind of situation, I’ll deal with you mercilessly that you won’t forget in your life. For the very last time Ademosun, stay away from Aketi, you won’t find it funny with me. You are a very terrible woman, go away and enjoy your look.”

Enhanced Security Measures Boost Oil Production Figures For Nigeria
The issue of stolen crude oil in the Niger Delta has been in the news for the last couple of months especially with the discovery of illegal tap in points on major oil trunk lines.

Now the new improved security measures undertaken by the Federal Government are beginning to yield fruits.

Figures obtained by the Punch from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources indicate that oil production in Nigeria was 1.185 million barrels per day in November indicating an increase of 0.171 million barrels per day over the October figures.

In December, the production was 1.253 million barrels per day representing an increase of 0.05 million barrels per day over the November 2022 figures.

The minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, said in a released statement that there has been an increase in oil output, as production has risen to about 1.5 million barrels per day.

The increased production will no doubt have raised the nations revenue profile, especially as the price of crude oil has been consistently high in the international market.

Recall that the Federal Government awarded the oil pipeline security contract to Global West Vessel Specialist Limited, a firm owned by ex Niger Delta militant, Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo). The contract was awarded at N4billion monthly to the firm.

That move seemed to have paid off dividends with the improved security and production figures. Tompolo's security firm made the discoveries of the illegal tap-in points on the export pipelines.
Before the discovery, the nation was estimated to be losing as much as 900,000 barrels per day of oil production to oil thieves.

Arsenal Solidify Grip On Top EPL Table; Beat Tottenham 0-2
Arsenal increased their lead at the top of the English Premiership table to 8 points with a 0-2 bashing of bitter London rivals, Tottenham.

A blunder from Tottenham and France goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris who failed to deal with Bukayo Saka's cross in the 14th minute, resulted in the first goal for Arsenal.

Peter Obi to Speak at Chatham House on Monday
Potential for clashes with Reno Omokri

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi is scheduled to give a keynote address at Chatham House, London on Monday 16th, January, 2022. Chatham House is a policy tink tank in the United Kingdom

Obi posted this information on his Twitter page earlier today.

Recall that Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, the rival presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) respectively, had earlier gone to same Chatham House to deliver speeches.

In the case of Tinubu, it was a controversial appearance with protesters attempting to disrupt his appearance and his refusal to answer questions directly.

There has been speculations that the Nigerian social media influencer and supporter of the Atiku Abubakar campaign, Reno Omokri, will attempt to lead a protest on Monday at Chatham House.
Peter Obi and Labour Party supporters in London are expected to turn out in large numbers and there could be a potential for a clash with Reno Omokri.

US Policewoman Fired for Sexual Misconduct with Her Colleagues
Police in the US state of Tennessee have terminated five officers and suspended another three officers, after investigations showed they had sexual affairs with a married colleague. Some of the illegal liaisons were conducted during duty.

The terminated officers are patrol officer Maegan Hall, patrol officer Juan Lugo-Perez, Sgt. Henry Ty McGowan, and Sgt. Lewis Powell and detective Seneca Shields. The suspended officers have been identified as Patrol and K-9 Officer Larry Holladay, Patrol Officer Patrick Magliocco, and Patrol Officer Gavin Schoeberl.

The news channel WTVF has reported that Meagan Hall engaged in sexual relations with officers Magliocco, Powell, Holladay, Lugo, McGowan, and Shields without letting the police leadership know.

Hall also engaged in on-duty relationships with officers McGown and Shields inside police or city owned buildings.

Officer Hall was also accused of emailing n**e images of herself to her colleagues and taking her top off in a hot tub party. She reportedly told her colleagues she was in an open relationship which was untrue.

Chelsea New Signing, Mykhailo Mudryk Will be At Stamford Bridge Today
Mykhailo Mudryk seems to have finally signed for Chelsea afterall. He is alleged to be on show at today's game between Chelsea and Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

The 23 year old was previously thought to be signing for Arsenal but Chelsea hijacked the deal and paid the £88m fee for the Ukrainian Midfielder from Shakhtar Donetsk.

It is alleged that Mudryk will watch the game from the stands and then conduct a medical with Chelsea to finalize the deal.

This move has become a controversial move since London rivals, Arsenal had been on the trail of the Ukrainian for months now and even had a bid rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk. I was even reported that Mudryk made Arsenal his preferred move but the big money boys from Chelsea stepped in and sculptured the deal.

Chelsea have now gone on to include the players details on the clubs official Instagram handle, and urged their fans to show him love on social media. That bold move indicates the move is more or less complete.

The fee would be about the second highest paid by Chelsea after the Romelu Lukaku deal to move from Inter to Chelsea in a club-record transfer worth £97.5 million in 2021.

Brighton Take Out Liverpool 3-0 in the EPL
Brighton once again showed why they are a team on a mission.
They put up an unbelievable show at the Amex Stadium with a 3-0 thumping of Liverpool.

Scores were even at half time till the teams resumed for the second half.

Brighton took the lead through Solly March in under a minute of resumtption to make the scores 1-0

Solly March was back again in the 53rd minute with a second goal hitting the far corner and beating Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson again!

Liverpool tried to turn things around to no avail. Their new signing, Cody Gakpo could do little to save them from the thumping. He came close to scoring in the 78th minute but could not reach the cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold

In the 83rd minute, Danny Wellbeck, the forgotten man of the premier league shots in a volley past Alisson for the 3rd goal.

The woes continue for Liverpool this season. Coach Jurgen Klupp has a lot of work to do to shake off this loss of form by Liverpool.

Reno Omokri Caught in a Pictorial Lie Against Peter Obi
Reno Omokri, a social media influencer and known supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has been caught in a lie about the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Reno posted on social media, a picture of Peter Obi at a marketplace buying bananas and groundnuts and sarcastically captioned it "So this format os still being used".

The picture was meant to denigrate political aspirants that seem to associate with market women and everyday people when it was time for campaign and seek for votes purely for the photo-ops.

Such tactics have been called out in the past for their insincerity. So Reno Omokri meant to imply Peter Obi was doing same.

Now new evidence unearthed by a Twitter user which showed the picture was from eight years ago and not a recent one!

Ghana hits Telecoms Giant, MTN, with $773million Back Taxes
MTN, the South African mobile operator has been hit with $773 million in back taxes for its Ghana subsidiary.

The Ghana Revenue Authority said the firm was audited for the years 2014 to 2018 and it was found to have under reported its revenue by around 30% for the period.

MTN says its disputes the accuracy and basis of the assessment and would fight the assessment and bill.

Recall that MTN had similar tax issues with the Nigerian authorities for its Nigerian subsidiary. In that case, MTN was slapped with a $2billion tax and charged with illegal repatriation of $8.1 billion.

Victor Osimhen Scores Twice As Napoli Humiliate Juventus 5-1
Nigerian and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, was on fire last night in the Italian Serie A clash between table toppers Napoli and Serie A giants, Juventus.

Osimhen opened scoring in the 14th minute with a header that beat the Juventus goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny.

Osimhen again in the 39th minute sent in a precise cross to his team mate Kvaratskhelia for Napoli's second goal.

Juventus got one back in the 42nd minute through the Argentinian, De Maria with a low shot into the left corner.

Napoli scored again in the 55th minute through Amor Rrahmani.

The masked Nigerian danger man, Victor Osimhen, in the 65th minute hit another header into the Juventus goal to make it 4-1.

Napoli scored again in the 72nd minute via Eljif Elmas to make the score 5-1.

This was a record scoreline making it the first time Juventus would be conceding five goals in a Serie A game in 20years. The last time this type of score line occured was the 1993 loss against Pescara. That game ended 5-1.

Victor Osimhen now leads Serie A goal scoring chart with 12 goals this season.

Prince Harry Says He Has Enough Material For A Second Book About Royals
Britain's Prince Harry has revealed that he had enough material to do a send expose book about the Royal Family, but he would not do so.

Prince Harry says he is concerned that if he did not leave out many things that happened in the Royal Family, his father and brother would not ever forgive him.
