If you're a sales person, who sells either physical or digital Products, there's something you shouldn't joke with.

And that's your number.

By number I mean, you should be able to predict the number of persons you need to meet on a daily basis to hit your sales goal.

By number, I mean you should know the number of calls you should make daily to get a yes.

By number, I also mean, you should know the number of cold emails you should send daily to hit your goals.

Now, an illustration for you:

In 1995, when the 44th president of America was running as a senator in Chicagoโ€ฆ

According to the requirements by the Chicago government, a candidate voting for a position was expected to get 700 voters who live in the jurisdiction to sign a petition.

Now, Obama and his team decided not to aim for 700 voters, on the contrary, they decided to target 4X the goal given to them, which was 2800.

Sometimes when I tell business owners that they're in the business of offers, sometimes they wonder.

Now,the honest to God truth is, offers sell more than Products.

Now, let's give an illustration.

I want you to imagine going to a phone supermarket to get an iphone.

Now, all you want to spend on this phone is at most #70,000.

And that's because you also want to power bank, which cost #20,000

On getting to the phone shop, you came across two sellers.

The first seller: ๐— ๐˜† ๐—ถ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ #๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฌ,๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ.

Or maybe you own an offline business, in this piece i'd show you how to gain enough trust from customers and subsequently increase your sales.

And that's because it unblinds your business and reveals what you do at the back end.

So it involves showing your buyers how you're able to come up with your product.
..The countless stress you pass through, the process it undergoes.

And lots more.

For example, if you own a restaurant, you could display the processes your meat undergoes before it's served; the washing, the salting and every every.

This subtle act removes all ambiguities and leaves your customers saying:

One of the mistakes most business owners make is selling right from the start.

Simply put, you're so desperate for the sale.

Now, desperation is one of the major reasons you aren't selling.

If you're always shouting โ€œBuy, buy, buy"
.. even when your customers haven't fully understand your product, then you're desperate.

If you're always using fake scarcity to get customers to buy, then you're desperate.

If you fail to market your product very well before selling, you're desperate.

Now, how do you sell without desperation?

Very simple:

By starting with your customers, I mean that your first goal is to discover your customer's pain points.

You've got to ascertain their primary problem.

As that would help you in knowing how best to help them.

For example, if you walk into a hospital and the doctor hands you a drug without discovering what your health issue is,

How would you feel?

What conclusions would you make?

You'd likely conclude the doctor is quack isn't it?

That's exactly how your customers feel whenever you give them your product without first hearing what their problems are.

So the panacea is,
Listen to your customers first, hear their pain points, before recommending your product to them.

WHAT IS YOUR UNIQUE SELLING POINT?

If you sell a highly competitive product and you're struggling so hard to sell out your products,

then this message is for you.

Now, the first question you've got to ask yourself is,

What exactly makes my product different from others?

Or, Am I selling a me-too Product?

By me-too, I mean you're selling what every other person is selling.

Now, I'm sure the next question on your mind is,

How can I differentiate myself from the competition?

That brings me to the purpose of this piece;

How To Triple Your Sales using a Unique Selling Point(USP)

The first thing you want to do before launching your product or your offer is;
discover your USP

You'd agree with me that customers don't care about you, nor your product.

They don't care how good your product is.

The only thing they care about is,

How can this help me?

Thus, a USP is that benefit that cannot be found elsewhere.

It is that thing that sets you apart from your competitors.

It is what motivates your customers to buy even when they don't feel like it.

Now, How can you create a unique selling point?
Discovering a USP is not rocket science. All it requires is a little thinking and observation

So, here are my three steps to discovering a USP:

๐Ÿ“Spy on your competitors: Yes! The first thing you want to do is to see what your competitors are already doing.

Even if it means buying their products, buy it, and see what they do.

๐Ÿ“ A date with customers: Now, when you're done spying on your competitors, the next thing

What you want to do is to go on a research date with your customers.

And that involves making research to discover what exactly your customers want.

And when you've discovered it, go-ahead

๐Ÿ“ Create a unique selling point.

PS: A unique mechanism could be how different you package your product. It could be how

good, you deliver.
It could be how you attend to customers.

The goal is simply to give your customers something they wouldn't find elsewhere.
