Today marks the last day of my first month as a realtor and my experience has been amazing!

I never knew that in the space of 1 month, I can experience massive growth.

Everything that is happening to me right now is a prove of a God has said about this job.

In the space of 1 month, I've sold landed properties to 3 amazing people, I've learnt to multitask and find time for the important things, I've learnt to rightly allocate my money to get better financially, I've learnt better ways to close sales, I've met amazing people who are now my colleagues!

July 2023!

I won't forget so fast, God has been faithful!

I'm so grateful to God for all he's done & I can't wait to see all August has in store for me.

One thing is certain - The thoughts of God towards me are good even to bring me to an expected end!

The things that God is doing are marvellous in my sight!

In short, July was my best month yet!

If you're about to start working a 9-5 or you know someone about to start, keep reading.

This post is for you🤝

First of all, 9-5 is work and that's on periodt.

It just occurred to me to tell you, 9- 5 means an office job as in, working from 9 am to 5 pm in a company.

I work In a real estate company anyways(I dey sell land ooooh, if you want to buy, send me a DM, if you want to know more, follow me here )

So, this is it, if you combine working a 9-5 & working remotely you'll have to plan your day well, I mean very well especially if you live with your parents because living with your parents is a full-time job as well😪

Asides from planning your day well, you'll also have to learn to delegate, you can't possibly do everything yourself, let some people help you do things here and there to free up some time for yourself.

Now, if you're just starting like myself, honour your lead/boss, these people have some experience in the field that you don't have but when you honour them, you'll easily get access to them and they can always show you tips to help you scale fast.

Truth be told, 9- 5 isn't easy, but I feel if you put these things in place, you'll be fine.

See where my ignorance led me to o...

I know you're wondering what I mean😅

Just stay with me, okay? 😊

Do you remember it rained yesterday?

Yessss.. that rain was the cause of all these!😪

Well, not the rain per se.

So, this was what happened, last night I had to enter the rain with my phone to get a couple of stuff and immediately I got back, I plugged in my phone & went about doing my thing.

After a while, I picked up my phone, and then I noticed it was overheating, I also got a notification of "USB port not supported"

I sha unplugged and continued my work, when I was about to sleep I plugged in my phone & boom, I saw smoke 💨

Like play like play oooo, the charging port of my phone got spoilt, it was even melted😭

That's how I unplugged my phone, closed my eyes & slept!

This morning, I handed the phone over to my dad who helped me get it to the people who fixed it.

People of God, that's how I had to spend my day without my phone!

But guess what, I wasn't bored🥳
I read a lot today(at least more than normal😅) and I gisted with my colleagues🥳🥳

Although I was disconnected from my online friends, I still found a way to make the most of today!

Least I forget, how was today for you?😊

At the end of my story, I'll appreciate pieces of advice here and there abeg🤲 especially if you combine 9-5 and remote jobs.

So, when I passed out of NYSC I moved back to my parent's house(which I never liked), but a lot of people out there keep saying I should enjoy it while it lasts & I guess that's what I'm doing😁

Anywaysssss, I was working remotely then as a social media manager, so I felt I'll be okay working from home(chai! If only I knew)

I'm an introvert oooo, but you see staying at home got too boring for me🥺😭

I got tired of everything, so before I started smelling of house(read that in Yoruba 😉) I started telling my friends that I need a Job ooo

I saw this opportunity at Land Republic, and I applied while feeling unqualified, but thanks to my amazing friends, they motivated me to apply.

And todayyyyy.. I resumed ooo(meaning I passed all my interview sessions & was found qualified)🥳

Isn't God great??

After scrolling through my gallery twice I realised in June, I didn't take so many pictures nor did I make many videos.

As an advocate of making memories, I could have done better.

But, it is what it is yeah?

However, this 1st half of the year taught me lessons, I learnt to budget by force, kept track of my expenses, made out time for my friends, spent more time with my family and so on..

In all, I'm grateful for how far I've come.

If you ask me how ready I am for the 2nd half, hmmm..

But then, the little things I've put in place will do, from setting my goals to creating a spreadsheet to monitor my spending habit to registering for the best class ever to up my creation game. I'm excited!

I can't wait to meet me in 6 months.

I know it can ONLY GET BETTER!✨

My focus is the 2nd slide🥰

I'll share 2 things from the comment I got this morning.

The first is, you don't have to have it all before you start, start with what you have & start where you are.

Personally, I still see myself as I'm just starting because I still don't have a couple of things I need, but that isn't going to stop me from showing up.

This is your cue- START

The second has to be "learn to encourage people"

I've heard this a couple of times & I can tell you based on experience that a single positive comment can save someone from giving up.

If someone is doing well, tell them, stop hoarding the comments & reviews.

I don't mean to celebrate creatives alone, even if it's your friend that did something, let them know they are good & you're proud of them.

These little things matter.

So, let me ask you, have you ever been in a "not-so-good" mood & a simple comment/compliment helped lift your mood?

So, the first time I heard of "SEED, TIME & HARVEST" I didn't give any meaning to it but now it has so much meaning to me that I thought to share it with you.

The first word here is SEED: Without the seed, there would be no harvest, as individuals, you have to pay attention to the kind of seed you're allowing into your life because everything is an investment and it will definitely yield a result.

That's why we've always been told that we're a product of the decisions we've made in times past.

Monitor what you consume, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.

Guard your heart with all diligence because out of it flows the issues of life.

Watch the seed you plant into your life.

Secondly, TIME: Without it, there's no harvest, so yes, you have invested rightly into your life, how about you give yourself some more time?

That seed will become a FRUIT, relax.

The last stage is HARVEST: When this time comes, a farmer goes(action) To his farm to harvest.

Stop sitting around waiting, sometimes what you need is ACTION, make a move.

Let the world know what you are made of, you've been consuming for a while why don't you get up to give too?

5 things I've learnt from this month that I would love to share with you.

1. Beyond hard work to run a successful business, you need to give expression to your creativity.

2. There's a need to run your business like you should not like someone else's (dont be doing copy and paste, is nuh good)

3. If anybody tells you they are having it all rosy, it's not true, dont believe them, you're trying, so keep moving

4. When people compliment you, pay attention to it, it could be your strength

5. Don't put a limit on your passion.

One thing I've come to agree with over time is marketing should happen both online and offline.

Earlier today, I was speaking with a friend and she told me she carries her perfume everywhere she goes and I felt that's a good one.

If one does not work, the other will.

One thing I know is there is a market for your product.

Don't be shy to tell people what you sell or what you do.

Market your brand shamelessly to your prospective customers.

If by now, you don't know your target audience, sit back and learn about them.

Know them well so you can market to them.

This is my story...

I've been a business owner for over 2 years now and I can tell you for sure that running a business requires HARD WORK

However, hard work without the right knowledge can get you exhausted easily.

Well, this wasn't meant to be a story. LOL

But, here are a few things I'll love to tell you as a business owner;

1. There's a market for your product.

2. People have money but they will pay you according to how valuable they see your product.

3. Your product won't sell itself, you have to go out there and let people know you exist

4. Invest in yourself & stop looking for free knowledge

5. No matter how many people sell your products already, one thing that will make you stand out is "BEING YOU"

These past few days, I've been consuming more content than I've been creating & here are the highlights of what I've learnt so far;

1. Accept compliments: I don't really mean the "you're beautiful" compliments, I mean compliments like "you're growing & I love to see it" or " Look how far you've come, I'm proud of you".

2. Stop looking down on yourself, YOU'RE WORTH MORE THAN YOU THINK.

3. Set REALISTIC goals.

4. Life is in stages, don't let someone's success make you feel like you're not moving.

5. Talk positively, even on days when all that's running through your mind is negative, just keep speaking positively.

6. Nobody has it all figured out!
Stop letting social media deceive you, alright?

There's more but I can't possibly type it all out, right?

I wish...

Running a business was a bit easier

I wish Instagram could be about just posting my product pictures and getting so many enquiries that will eventually lead to sales.

I wish the amount of followers I have equals the number of sales I make in a month.

I wish...
I wish...
I wish...

That's how we all wish, I mean it's normal for us to wish right? 

However, wishes are not horses....

To me though, staying wishing for something is more like having dreams and what happens when you have a dream?

You eventually wake and when you wake, you face reality.

The reality involves you getting to work.

Sometimes what you wish for is on the other side of "knowledge"

When you take your time to learn & apply necessary knowledge, there's a high tendency that your wish will be granted.

However, when you sit back and keep wishing without taking a step, you'll be left with wishes. 

Funnily enough, everybody is moving, nobody is waiting for you, don't wait till your customers send you away with "sold out"

I mean, on Instagram so many people are focusing on themselves.

What exactly are you doing to make people focus on you & what you sell?

See, nobody is coming to help you, especially when they notice you're always wishing.

That was the only thing on my mind, yeah, my mind seemed blank because I was wondering why I had the urge to write when there was nothing on my mind to pen down.

However, I eventually picked up my pen and that is why you are reading this.

Well, there's just one thing I picked up from this experience and this is it.

If you don't make a "move" nothing will "move"

If you don't take a step, you'll be where you are.

In the real sense of it, you might not know exactly where you are going to, but along the line, it will get clearer.

When I started on instagram, I didn't understand what it means to have a strategy but along the line, I understood better so that's how it works.

I badly wanted to maximize my time because I needed to catch some sleep.

My precious mind wandered around bringing so many memories my way and I Began to appreciate my uniqueness.

You know, I feel that when you pay a little more attention to your story you would love and appreciate yourself more.

There are times when I scroll through some content online & I find them so amazing or they make me laugh.

Sometimes I forget to even drop a 'like' on such content.

However, when I remember I rush to go drop at least a 'like'.

So, my point today is;
Support your online friends by engaging their content.

Those engagements goes a long way.

No matter how we hide it, there's a joy that getting many engagements brings.

That's why you'd notice people soliciting for likes, buying likes and all that.

Imagine someone putting in so much effort to create content with so many real followers & getting few engagements.

Although, we've been told not to pay attention to that engagement.

But, let's not lie, there's nobody that doesn't like engagement ooo

So, today when you see content that adds value to you, make sure to engage with it, it's your little way of encouraging the creator.

Lately, several business owners have reached out to me and told me that they've not been posting on IG because they don't know what to post.

If you're on this table, this post is for you.

You feel that way because you only post your product pictures & there's a possibility you run out of pictures. 

However, when you take your time to create other types of content, then it will be much easier for you to stay consistent. 

The other types of content you can create are;

1. Educative content: See, a lot of people don't buy from you because they don't understand one thing or the other about what you sell, how about you take your time to teach them?

2. Inspirational/Motivational content: With this content, you can easily show that you care about your audience by motivating or inspiring them.

There are other types of content that you can also put out there such as promotional, relatable, user-generated and so on.

Well, my point here is, to spice up your page, and make sure you're not doing the same old.

Don't be too boring for your audience.
