*ISPON Collaborates With Head of Service of the Federation To Hold Stakeholders Conference On Health and Safety Standards in Nigeria*.
The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, ISPON, in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation is to hold the second stakeholders meeting on Health and Safety standards in Nigeria.
The President of ISPON, Mr Kaizer Ebi, stated this in an interview that the two day conference in Lagos is geared towards the regulation of health and safety standards.
"A lot is lacking in our national work life in terms of plans on ground to safeguard people at work", Ebi noted.
He stated, "At this event, which is in collaboration with the office of the Head of Service of the Federation, trans- industry committees would be set up to create standards for the regulation of health and safety in Nigeria".
On his part, the Chairman, Planning Committee, Dr Fyneray Mbata, explained that Ministries, Department and Agencies, have confirmed their attendance at the two day conference at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce Secretariat , Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos from 18th to 19th of this month.
Similarly, captains of Industry, well meaning private sector players, professional bodies, and the public are expected to participate in the conference, which is free.
The first Stakeholders Conference in Abuja, according to the Chairman Planning Committee, recorded a huge success and awards Presentations to prominent Nigerians who had contributed to ensuring health and safety standards in Nigeria.

A video of a fresh female graduate has since gone viral on the Internet where she turned down her boyfriend’s marriage.
In the video shared on social media, the lady who appears to be a fresh graduate was seen stretching out her hand to receive a ring from her lover only to collect the ring in the presence of numerous people and then throwing the ring away as the crowd cheered on.

The commissioner who came to sympathize with parent of the abducted school children was forced back into his official car as the parents rained abuses and curses on him and the Nasir El-Rufai-led state government.
“Go home! Go home! We don’t want you here, Go back, we don’t want to see here,” they were heard shouting in the video.
It was reported earlier by Raye4Reporters, that the Abduction of the school children took place in Bethel Secondary School in Maramara, Chickun LGA of Kaduna State.
It was also gathered that in an attempt to repel the attackers, two soldiers lost their life in the process during a gun battle with the bandits.
The security officer of the school, Mr
Daniel Muhuta, while speaking on the development said, “I escaped narrowly. They came around 1.00 am and started shooting. I was at the back of the school domentary when I heard shooting and decided to pin down."
The bandits later contacted the school management through one of the abducted student, where they disclosed that they have 121 students in their custody.
The bandit during a phone conversation with the school authority however, assured the school that the abducted students are in good health and not to worry.
This happens to be the second abduction in the state within the last 24 hours.
The development comes just hours after bandits abducted babies, female nurses and security guards from the residential quarters of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre (NTLC) in Zaria, on Sunday.
