This year, we shall be experimenting a lot. Experimenting spaces, performances, audiences and artists.
We are activating unconventional performance spaces for in-house, private performances. With these performances we shall be experimenting with our audience of about 10 to 15 people in a nice, small and cozy space with refreshments and networking opportunities. We shall be exploring situational awareness in performance from 2 frames of reference: the artist and the audience.

Free registration link is opened for audience participation and only the first 10 to 15 registered people shall receive invite to this event in Lagos. It promises to be magical, engaging and enlightening. It’s a moment to take a break out of this world.

Don't worry, the form is not cumbersome. It’s only 3 basic details.

As said earlier, this is an experiment and the mode may change from time to time. The number of audience members too may change. The only constant thing in this special flow is Change.

So, get ready…be very ready!

RÉSIDENCE DE CRÉATION | « Omije » #2

🔗 Romain Folly (Bénin), Violaine Lochu (France) & Tosin Oyebisi (Nigéria)

Après une première résidence de création en mai dernier, accueille à nouveau depuis ce mardi, les artistes , & pour une résidence de création d'une semaine autour du projet « Omije ». Produit par le Centre National de Création Musicale Espace Césaré de Reims & Le Centre, ce projet est à sa deuxième phase.

« Omije » - larme en langue yoruba - est né de la rencontre entre la performeuse et vocaliste française Violaine Lochu, le chanteur et percussionniste béninois Romain Folly et le bassiste nigérian Tosin Oyebisi À partir de la figure de la pleureuse, présente en Afrique occidentale comme elle l’était récemment en Europe méridionale, ces trois musiciens aux univers éclectiques font entrer en résonance leurs cultures musicales respectives pour explorer la notion de lamentation ; des chants funéraires yoruba, mina ou fon croisent des sonorités bruitistes, minimalistes, rock, dans un projet immersif et singulier au sein duquel l'improvisation et l'expérimentation tiennent une place essentielle.

Il se tiendra à cet effet, une restitution, dans le cadre de la soirée de danse afro-contemporaine ce samedi 30 juillet à 20h dans notre espace.
