BENEFITS OF DROPSHIPPING

A $15 billion industry, dropshipping is a great business model for aspiring entrepreneurs to start with because it’s accessible. With dropshipping, you can quickly test different business ideas with limited downside, which lets you learn a lot about how to choose and market in-demand products.
Here are a few other reasons why dropshipping is such a popular model for both large and small businesses.

1. LESS UPFRONT AND CAPITAL IS REQUIRED

Probably the biggest advantage to dropshipping is that it’s possible to launch an ecommerce store without having to invest thousands of dollars in inventory upfront. Traditionally, retailers have had to tie up huge amounts of capital purchasing inventory.
With the dropshipping model, you don’t have to purchase a product unless you’ve already made the sale and have been paid by the customer. Without significant upfront inventory investments, it’s possible to start sourcing products and become a successful dropshipper with very little money.

2. EASY TO START

Running an ecommerce business is much easier when you don’t have to deal with physical products. With dropshipping, you don’t have to worry about:
* Managing or paying for a warehouse
* Packing and shipping your orders
* Tracking inventory for accounting reasons
* Handling returns and inbound shipments
* Continually ordering products and managing stock level

3.FLEXIBLE COLLECTION

A dropshipping business can be run from just about anywhere with an internet connection. As long as you can communicate with suppliers and customers easily, you can run and manage your business.

4.WIDE SELECTION OF PRODUCTS TO SELL

Since you don’t have to pre-purchase the items you sell, you can offer an array of trending products to your potential customers. If suppliers stock an item, you can list it for sale on your online store at no additional cost.

5. EASIER TO TEST

Dropshipping is a useful fulfillment method for both launching a new store and for business owners looking to test the appetite customers have for additional product categories, e.g., accessories or wholly new product lines. The main benefit of dropshipping is, again, the ability to list and potentially sell products before committing to buying a large amount of inventory.

6. EASIER TO SCALE

With a traditional retail business, if you receive three times the number of orders, you’ll usually need to do three times as much work. By leveraging dropshipping suppliers, most of the work to process additional orders will be borne by the suppliers, allowing you to expand with fewer growing pains and less incremental work.
Sales growth will always bring additional work—especially related to customer support—but businesses that utilize dropshipping scale particularly well relative to traditional ecommerce businesses.

Dropshipping

What dropshipping is ?

Drop shipping is a form of retail business wherein the seller accepts customer orders without keeping stock on hand. Instead, in a form of supply chain management, the seller transfers the orders and their shipment details to either the manufacturer, a wholesaler, another retailer, or a fulfillment house, which then ships the goods directly to the customer. As such, the retailer is responsible for marketing and selling a product, but has little or no control over product quality, storage, inventory management, or shipping.[1] By doing this, it eliminates the costs of maintaining a warehouse – or even a brick and mortar storefront, purchasing and storing inventory, and employing necessary staff for such functions. As in any other form of retail, the seller makes their profit on the difference between an item's wholesale and retail price, less any pertinent selling, merchant, or shipping fees accruing to them.

The biggest difference between dropshipping and the standard retail model is that the selling merchant doesn’t stock or own inventory—they act as the middleman.

How does dropshipping work?
Two of the most common approaches for dropshipping are to seek out a supplier located in North America (or anywhere else in the world) using supplier databases, or to seek out an app that connects you and your store to thousands of suppliers.
For the latter, we recommend DSers, a Shopify app that helps independent business owners find products to sell. With DSers, you can browse AliExpress and import the products that pique your interest directly to DSers—which is connected to your Shopify store—with the click of a button.
Once a customer buys a product, you’ll be able to fulfill their order in the DSers app. Fortunately, DSers automates this process. As the store owner, all you have to do is check that the details are correct and click the Order button. The product is then sent directly from the AliExpress supplier to the customer—wherever in the world they may be.

5 BUSINESS BENEFITS OF SOCIAL COMMERCE

What is social commerce?

Social ecommerce is when social media platforms are used to make a more personalized and targeted in-app experience shopping experience for customers. Simply put, it brings ecommerce functionality directly into social media platforms.
When customers are satisfied with your business, social media makes it easy for them to share and recommend your brand. Because of it’s very nature, social media is a place where content goes viral. These channels therefore play a very important role in your word-of-mouth marketing.
Examples of social commerce platforms and social commerce sites include Facebook business retail store pages where users can browse and shop without leaving the platform, or buy buttons on Twitter and Pinterest.
Many people wonder if social e-commerce will work for their business. In fact, it offers a myriad of business benefits for your brand. From increasing sales to driving traffic, to increasing customer engagement and website traffic.

Here are 5 benefits of social commerce

1. CONSISTENT AUDIENCE GROWTH

Every day, thousands of new users join social media sites around the world. Millions are already active on it. According to Statistia, Facebook has over a billion active users each month and many new users join every hour. One of the most important considerations for any business is how to reach and sell to its target customer audience. For companies that use social commerce, their followings are continuously growing and accessible.

2. HIGHER SEARCH ENGINE RANKING

Engagement on social media can lead to more than just direct transactions. It has been proven that social media commerce actually increases traffic to your website which will eventually influence your ranking on search engine results (though nobody can agree on the exact weight of this search engine ranking factor.) Sharing links to content on your website through social media is an excellent way to drive traffic from social media users. It also allows your audience to engage with a comment, like, or share to reach an even larger audience.

3. MORE AUTHENTIC ENGAGEMENT AND TRAFFIC

As already stated, actively working to grow your social media audience is a great first step in eventually making conversions. One of the most significant benefits of social commerce is the engagement and reach that businesses can get whenever they share content. By showing up in a follower’s updates feed on a regular basis, you’re participating in a powerful branding opportunity. People who have regular contact with a company are more likely to recommend that company.
Social commerce encourages people to connect with a business through two-way communication. This allows customers to not only engage with your business, but it also gives them the opportunity to use social media as an efficient customer service channel where it’s possible to solve problems. Social media word-of-mouth (sharing/reposting) helps with audience building, as well as increased engagement and website traffic.

4. CUSTOMER LOYALTY AND RETENTION

In using social commerce for your business, you are aiming to sell and promote your products/services, but you are also aiming to build good relationships with people. By using this opportunity to engage with prospects, a company can build and maintain relationships that deepen trust and loyalty. This in turn creates customers that are happy/satisfied with your service, who will likely remain clients who make repeat purchases. Make sure to treat first time buyers just as well as you’d treat repeat purchasers – they’re both incredibly important!

5. BUSINESS METRICS FROM SOCIAL

With any part of your business marketing, you should be able to analyze your efforts, and see if the results provided a positive ROI. Starting a campaign that you cannot measure or evaluate is a waste of any tangible effort. The objective you decide upon should be kept in line with company key performance indicators (KPIs).
Social media commerce makes it easy to measure and evaluate performances. pages, Instagram business accounts and tweets on Twitter have built-in metrics for impressions, engagements and reach. In addition, most social media posts allow for measurement of traffic to your website through website click counts. Other basic measurements to determine a positive ROI might include your total numbers of fans/followers, likes, and the overall sentiment of interactions.
Social media commerce will only be beneficial for your business if it’s done right. Formulate a solid plan and don’t be afraid to take the risk and invest a reasonable amount of time, effort, and money – social commerce companies agree that it’s more than worth it!

HOW TO START A JOURNEY ON DIGITAL MARKETING

As more and more companies, brands individuals get into the digital space to generate more sales for their product or services. The need for experts in digital marketing is greater now than before its was few years ago, it’s an evolving industry that’s has a lot of challenges and crumbles but in the end also has plenty of rewards including more potential and lucrative income that’s can make you say bye bye to ‘sapa’.

If you’ve thought about switching into digital marketing the time is now. And lucky for us all we don’t need to ve a degree or masters before we can start but that’s doesn’t mean there are no courses or ebooks to learn from, cause it’s requires hard-work and consistency to move forward.

Here are few things you can do right now to start a journey on digital marketing...

1. CREATE AN ONLINE PROCESS

These days, when it comes to landing a job in almost any field or starting as business owner, you might as well not exist without an online presence. For obvious reasons, this is especially true of digital marketing: a prospective employer or a prospective buyer is going to look online first to learn about applicants or vendor and if they can’t find you, they are going to move on to the next person who has a curated image.
Create your own digital marketing blog, social media accounts that are linked to websites you have built, portfolios, etc. Show them what you are really capable of.

2. KNOW THE LATEST TRENDS

Digital marketing is a career that is always on the move and always changing. If you are choosing it as a career, you need to keep up with the latest trends. The needs of this industry vary over time, and if you fall behind, someone else will be waiting to take your place.
Attend virtual seminars, take online classes, and do your best to stay ahead of the game rather than simply keeping up with it.

3. USE YOUR CREATIVITY

Digital marketing really allows you to use creative gifts in different ways. Yes, there are methods and systems that are standardized for certain applications, but you can always add your personal knowledge to projects, making them creative and unique.
Digital marketing is built on creativity, so if you have an idea that you think will work, give it a try. The more creative you are, the more likely it is that you will be noticed and land that dream job or make that’s sales.

4. CREATE A WINNING RESUME

Before you start applying for jobs or advertising make sure to create a dynamic resume that shows just how valuable your skills are. There are many different types of resumes, and you shouldn’t limit yourself to just one, especially when you are working in a creative industry such as digital marketing.
Go online and check out various resume examples for digital marketing professionals, and access yours around them.

5. GET OUT TGERE NETWORK

It is important to get your name out there, and the best way to do that is by networking. Not only is this going to make people remember you, it is also going to give you great connections that can help you in many areas throughout your career. One person may know where you can get specific training. Another may have a lead on a great job. You will also be able to learn from their experience, and gain a list of experts you can use to put together a great team.

6. LEARN ABOUT ANALYTICS
In order to know how successful your marketing campaigns are, you need to understand analytics. This is the data that shows how well or how poorly a campaign is doing, and helps you to figure out how to make things better the next time around. You don’t have to go to college for a degree, but there are many online classes you can take on your own time that will help you to learn about and understand how analytics work, and how to use them.

7. GET SOME EXPERIENCE

The only way you will get your career going is by gaining experience. You may have to do some unpaid jobs, but this is a worthwhile time investment with long term benefits. Using any skills you acquire, help friends or community organizations with projects, and take on all kinds of side jobs that will give you plenty of experience that you can draw on when you to start applying for long-term digital marketing jobs.

8. SAY “yes” TO ANYTHING

We touched on doing free jobs in the last tip, and we can’t stress enough how important it is to do anything that will give you the experience you need to land your first digital marketing job. Take on free jobs, or jobs that other digital marketers don’t want to do. Demonstrate that you can take on and make the best of any project, and be successful in your endeavors.
Not only will you gain experience, but you are also showing that you are willing to work hard.

9. GET TRUSTED CERTIFICATION

Anyone can get into digital marketing without a university degree, but the candidates who are getting the best positions are those who have a certification in digital marketing. There are classes you can take that will help you to prepare for the certification exams, and if you are really serious about digital marketing as a career, you should get certified as soon as possible.
This is going to make you stand out in a crowd of digital marketers who may be experienced, but definitely not certified.

1O. BE PREPARED FOR ENTRY-LEVEL JOBS

No one is going to start at the top in any career, no matter how much training, skills, and experience they may have. You may not get the job you want right away, but you will get there if you work for it. You will likely start out as an assistant, or a junior digital marketer, until you are able to prove that you are able to take on more responsibilities and that you are willing to work hard in order to succeed in your chosen career path.

CHANNELS AND ACTIVITIES

In traditional marketing the different channels that we have include TV, Print, outdoor display, radio and transit Ads. Example of channels for digital marketing includes:

Paid search
Search Engine Optimization
Content Marketing
Email Marketing
Lead Generation
Content optimization
Web analytics
Marketing Automation
Social Media Marketing

What are the key characteristics?
Mass/individual Media – How an audience consumes media
Passive/engaged audience – an audience’ level of investment or engagement on your content
One-to-one/One-to-many – Development and communication of content to either a niche or a mass audience
Outbound/inbound – the strategy of acquiring audience attention.

Relationship between traditional and digital marketing:

They can both be used for integrated marketing – they always find a way to work together. It is your job as a digital marketer to find the best way to make it work for your brand. Think about ideas, think about strategies on how to start a journey on digital marketing and how to take it offline and still take it online which all depends on you understanding your customers.

01/02/2022
31/01/2022

As I said about in my recent post that’s there are different types of marketing which are:

• Interruption marketing
• Behavioural marketing
• Permission marketing

INTERRUPTION MARKETING – this concept is similar to outbound marketing, its simply interrupting what people are doing and showing them your Ad. The idea is interrupting what your viewers are currently doing, it works but it’s not the ideal world. The ideal is not to interrupt people with content they might not find relevant. The ideal is to understand their behaviors and get their permission to market to them and that is what leads to the other types of marketing.

BEHAVIORAL MARKETING – This is taking insights, taking data, understanding people’s behavior, what are their interest? What are the things they like? How long do they spend on internet? What channels do they spend their time on? What kind of content do they like to consume? Understanding their behavior, getting insights from it, feeding them with content adverts that fits their behavior. This way, when people see these adverts, when they see your content it will no longer feel like you’re interrupting them because the advert is contextual or it’s relevant to them.

PERMISSION MARKETING – This is about opt-in and opt-out. A very good example is Email marketing, when you sign up for a newsletter for any brand, they give you the option to opt-in or opt-out.

Types of Media

1. Owned media is content you’re in full control of e.g. your company website, your blog, shared content and your social media.

2. Paid media is media that you pay for to increase your reach and traffic e.g. Facebook Ads, influencer marketing etc.

3. Earned media is user generated exposure. Exposure that you can earn via word of mouth or referrals e.g. Press mentions, shares, likes and reviews.

Digital marketing at the end of the day is about getting people to know about your brand and become paying customers who are brand advocates telling other people to come use your product or use your services. Now when you are building your digital brand it is very important to think about your content as a better term in a grand scheme which is made of two important aspects of digital brand:

Your digital voice and your digital footprint.

• Voice – the digital voice is the core of everything, it’s as a result of what you constantly communicate right and how you communicate it. Your voice is built overtime as a result of what you are communicating. How are you communicating? And when you are communicating? As a digital marketer don’t think about your content as the solution, think about how this content, strategies will affect your brand perception. You must be consistent. You have to know the kind of brand you are working with - is it B2B brand or B2C brand, consumer brand, a corporate brand. What is their product or services? How do your audience like to be spoken to? What are their needs? Understanding this influences the kind of content you put out there, at what time you put out the content and what channels you use.

• Footprint – Your digital footprint is a compilation of everything you have done from the beginning of the unplanned as it pertains to the internet and all other social media or their web usage page.

Digital voice and footprint can be very similar, but voice is about what you are communicating while your footprint is every other thing. Everything you have on the web all accumulate to be your footprint.

DIGITAL MARKETING INSIGHT

If you are considering building a career in Digital Marketing, then these write up will help you understand the fundamentals of digital marketing, the buyer’s journey and the differences between Digital and Traditional marketing. This little write up which I’ve researched on by top players in the game on Digital Marketing will equip you with the right tools and knowledge to kickstart your career.

As we all know what’s digital marketing is all about; it’s just the process of marketing products or services using digital platforms to reach the consumers. Basically the key motives is to promote brands using various social media angles.
In our world right now digital marketing is simply using the normal marketing strategies, promotion of use of services, social media angles and other technologies or techniques that’s are available on the internet.

As it’s is right now that’s I’m mainly talking about digital marketing insight right now, we should all know that’s there are other concepts of digital marketing which are:
Inbound and outbound marketing

Inbound marketing

It is the process of attracting leads by providing content that is helpful to them and will organically lead to engagement. What this means is that we are talking about inbound marketing they are focusing on generating content that your target audience, the people you want to reach would like, find interesting, relevant, educative and inspiring. When they consume your content; videos, images or audio they get drawn to your brand because you’ve given them some level of information that they already like.
Just think about inbound marketing as Paid media. The inbound marketing is a pull strategy because you are controlling your content and drawing people into your brand, getting them to:

•Love your brand
•Understand what you can provide to them using content

While the outbound marketing is just the opposite. It’s simply about showing your content to as many users as possible to increase the chances of reaching an intersected audience with a push.
It is a push strategy. What this means is that you are no longer generating content to get people interested or to get people engaged with your brand rather you are just putting out your content, promoting your content to reach as many people as possible. Just think about outbound marketing as blogging.
It’s important you understand these concepts and know when to actually put them in use.

There are different types of marketing which I’m gonna be taking about in my next post.
I hope these is useful to us all, as I’m still learning too. Kindly read, like and share
