It was dark, so dark that she couldn't see. She could only hear her own heartbeat which was filled with fear. Panic rose within her as she sat still, unsure of what exactly to do. What would she do anyways? She couldn't see her way through the darkness and there was no way she could get out of the place.
How did she get in there in the first place? She couldn't say but she felt immersed in this darkness for so long and she needed to get out. She couldn't stay there forever, she had to get out.
"Help!" She screamed into the air which echoed back to her.
"Help me please! Somebody help me!"
It was silent and yet, dark.
She sat there in trepidation as time rolled by.
Would she get out? Would the darkness leave? When and how would she leave the dark? It pressed in on her at all sides and fear clutched at her as she looked round frantically.
Where was everyone?
Her heart lurched. Where was her father? The security men?
Tears sprang out of her eyes as it suddenly dawned on her, there was no way out, no one could get her out.
"No!" She cried
A sound suddenly caught her attention and she looked up frantically with her heart in her throat, wondering what it was.
It was dark but she could hear, even though it was dark and she couldn't see but she could hear.
It was the sound of flapping wings.
She held her breath in trepidation as she couldn't decipher what was coming. She could feel it getting closer and her heart raced but this time not with fear, she suddenly realised, it was hope. Something or Someone was coming.
"Help me!" She screamed, this time with all her might.
"Help!"
The sound was deafening now as the flapping of wings grew and a gust
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." ...
